When he heard Onix shout out "Flash out!" the drow quickly drew some coal from a pouch and tossed it into the air, mouthing the words to a Shadow Mask spell. Quickly the coal would turn into pure shadow and would shield the drow's face, protecting him from the flash. His left hand would grab a hold of Lynx to keep her on her feet as he brought out some feathers from another pouch and moved his hand about and spoke the incantation of another spell, a Baleful Polymorph spell, which with any luck would change the queen bug.. Into a chicken.

Lynx clutched at Ryltar's belt with her left hand, steadying herself, her right one was still upon her face and she rubbed her eyes, blinking, waiting for the ability to see to return to her. The elf was cussing quietly, leaning against the drow's side a little, though knew better to not hinder him as he casted another spell. A crooked grin creased her lips as she heard -which- spell he was casting, and she just wished she could -see- that, should he succeed.

[i:1hmlezfl]If it fails, try Bigby'ing it, Ryl...[/i:1hmlezfl] She muttered, tearful.

As Midnight raced to the village, the bard's mind frantically searched through what Onix had told them about the huge bug, and he began to form an idea to stop it. He let the black steed run, with Zarae guiding it, thus freeing him to chant out a quick spell while holding his blades, his arms loosely wrapped around the small boy. After a moment, they began to shimmer with an almost invisible energy, humming slightly as the air whooshed past.

The moment they neared the village, he swung the elf child up to a low branch of a tree, then launched from the saddle and raced toward the bug. He saw several villagers with weapons caught in strange tentacles out of its back. He leaped at the writhing appendages with a wild yell, slicing down with both sabers at the first one. The blades vibrated slightly as they sliced through the air, making a sweet almost musical hum.

Right as the HIFB grenade went off, Onix heard a roar pierce his helmet, then nothing. Turning his helmeted head to look at the bug, the clone breathed a sigh of relief, albeit a temporary one.

The flashbang may have blinded Lynx and as a result, the grip that held the Leecher was now gone; but it had also temporarily deafened the Leecher, which was a big plus in Onix's book.

The clone saw the dark elf mage cast an odd spell at the bug; but when nothing happened to the Leecher, he shook his head, wondering what in the Hell the dark elf was trying to accomplish by that.
Then it hit the clone; these two elves were completely new to fighting this thing; where as Lothir and Zarae both had been briefed on the bug's strengths and weaknesses, at least as much knowledge as Onix possessed on the Leecher.

Turning his helmeted head toward the drow spellcaster, the clone racked his memory banks for anything that a mage might be able to do to harm this bug.
He had it; "Try elemental attacks on it!!" he shouted toward the mage.

Another roar, this one of pain, shifted Onix's gaze to the bug, and he had to smile at what he saw. Lothir had launched himself with his twin blades drawn, at one of the Leecher's tentacles and sheared it clean off, fortunately for the militiamen who had been ensnared by it.
By this time, the Leecher had regained it's focus, and with a new found target diverting it's attention, slashed at Lothir with two clawed arms, one after the other, both high and low.
As it attacked, the bug simultaneously brought another of it's ensnared victims to it's fanged face and completely drained the screaming elf right to death.

"Fucking bug," the clone muttered as he decided to hell with the regs, and brought the huge XPAC gun to bear on the bug; not knowing what it would do to the Leecher's armor exoskeleton, he aimed the light artillery piece at it's back where the base of the writhing tentacles were at. Onix held down the trigger as the weapon's targeting laser lit up the tentacle base he was aiming at.

A whining sound could be heard from the weapon as it took a full second and a half to charge up it's powerful shot; the inside of the barrel crackled lightly as superheated plasma was drawn out of the very air around the weapon and focused into an unstable, yet very potent bolt.
Inside his helmet, Onix saw the weapons charge indicator reach full, and depressed the trigger fully down. Within fractions of a second, a blue-hued, super-charged plasma bolt burst forth from the barrel of the weapon and raced toward the tentacle base.

The results were both spectacular and scary; the super-charged plasma bolt hit it's intended target and exploded in a shower of plasma sparks and blue light.

[i:2hrx8wg8]Elemental attacks hm? Alright then. [/i:2hrx8wg8] He glanced over to Lynx and tried to shake her gently to hopefully get her to recover more quickly. [i:2hrx8wg8]Hold the creature again in a moment, I'll reverse the gravity about it and see how it likes being dropped on it's head.[/i:2hrx8wg8] As he said this he'd take out a vial of water and would shake it up as he incanted the spell, the water glowing brightly before he tossed it on the ground to shatter it and spread out the water.

Lynx yanked her shawl down, the shock of her golden tresses falling onto her face as she rubbed her eyes again, the ability to see was returning to her slowly.
[i:1o6fabci]Uma, understood...[/i:1o6fabci] The elf winced and straightened, reaching to her pouch for another pinch of chalk dust, interlacing her fingers properly, ready to release another [i:1o6fabci]Hold Monster[/i:1o6fabci] spell - and would do it if Ryltar's magic failed this time, or when the bug slammed against the ground hard if his spell succeeded.

after both were off, she slid up on his back and turned to made way behind the thing. she threw green faerie fire around what the alien said was weak spots. tho she doubted it would freak out, it would help them should it try to disappear on them, its outline would still show.
then she tried a globe of darkness over its head in hopes of some confusion.
reaching deep into her mind she moved her hands and spoke the incantation she remembered her brother showing her. she held on to Moonlight's back with her legs around his body as a ray of freezing air and ice projected from her pointing fingers at the creature.

((faerie fire and darkness are simple spells even the lowest drow can, so i wouldnt think it would take much effort and im still riding as im a distance way. and i know she's not a wizard, but since all nobles learn some magic, i have her only know a couple cantrips and simple ones. tho she can only get them during emergencies, such as this.))

Seeing the tentacle come off, Lothir sets to work with a wicked grin slicing at the remaining appendages, to free the captive elves before any more become drained. He sees the inky sphere appear around the creature's head, and starts hacking at its legs, hoping to make the bug immobile, or at least slow it. He begins to sing a rather disturbing but humorous battle-song as his blades cut through the air- and hopefully, the monster's means of escape- and suddenly, his allies all feel a ruch of strength and determination envelop them.

He aims for the weak points as well, his wild moves becoming quicker and more like a peculiar dance as he weaves in and out around the infuriated leecher, spinning and ducking, leaping and whirling in mid-air to dodge its random attacks. Still singing, he slashes and spears at the bug in seemingly wild abandon, yet every thrust and cut is eerily precise. He looks like an insane tornado in a blur of blue, green, black, and white. (OOC: Yup, he's in dervish mode guys- which basically means he's gone nuts!! :p )

The Leecher queen, sensing it was outgunned, started to slowly go retreat, knowing that it was starting to lose the battle slowly. Despite having the globe of Darkness thrown over it's head, it could still sense it's enemies.

Onix, seeing Lothir hack off another barbed tentacle, charged his XPAC, letting the weapon gather the neccesary charged particles from the air. When the weapon's indicator flashed green in his HUD, the clone aimed the plasma cannon at the last tentacle, and squeezed the trigger.

A super hot bolt of blue, liquid energy burst forth from the weapons barrel and raced toward the appendage. The plasma round struck the base of the tentacle, causing the barbed, life-stealing appendage to come dropping off, and it's snagged victim with it.

What happened next surprised Onix, as he wasn't expecting the Leecher to. . . .

Then something didn't feel right; the Leecher felt as if the ground was now the sky, and suddenly slammed into the ground full force.

Seeing the bug struggling helplessly on the ground, with it's head in the earth, the clone launched himself at the bug as he engaged his OMNI armor in maximum strength. The 300 lbs armored Onix slammed into the Leecher with a serious force, enough to topple the huge bug onto its chest.

As Onix wrapped himself around the Leecher's head, he noticed that it couldn't get up, try as it might. Looking up at the two elves, the clone had to grin to himself, but that didn't stop the bug from shaking it's head about, making the clone's job all the more difficult.

"LOTHIR, ZARAE!! THE NECK!!" Onix shouted toward the bard and rogue.

Lynx' arms were outstretched again as she was concentrated on holding the Leecher down, trying to control all its tentacles as well, to keep them motionless as long as she could.

Clearly such focus was rather exhausting, so the sun elf was pale, the slanted teal eyes were narrowed. Her lips were twisted and her lithe body was tense, the red shawl was wrapped around her neck.

[i:2ud9xpko]Finish it![/i:2ud9xpko] She shouted to Onix and the rest, gathering all her will right now. Her cheeks were still stricken with tears after the light flash.

Seeing the creature was at the disadvantage and hearing to strike for the neck, Ryltar would murmur the words to a Firebrand spell, as he did this he would take out some oil soaked piece of cotton and would launch it into the air. As the incantation finished the cotton would ignite and turn into a bolt of fire and would strike at the creatures neck.

Onix saw the incoming bolt of fire and rolled off the bug to avoid being hit; the firebolt impacted the Leecher's neck, picking away at it's armor. The bug roared in pain, as it's neck armor was burned away.
Seeing his opportunity, Onix launched himself onto the bug's neck, ejected a gauntlet vibroblade from his armor and rammed it into a crevice in the armor; the bug howled out in pain, clawing at the ground, trying to fight it's way out of the Hold Monster spell.

"Zarae! Impact. . Here!" he shouted to the drowess, indicating the bit of soft tissue that he had peeled back under the armor.

slipping the sharp blade from its spot, she aimed and threw. the blade flew straight to the spot hitting where she aimed.
Moonlight turned in his gallop and her hand was already releasing another blade to release even before she saw the effects of the first one.

The bard continued his assault, ignoring everything else around him, or so it seemed. He felt the first hint of the change in gravity, in spite of his seemingly reckless whirl-wind of a slashing flurry, and when the leecher flew up and slammed back down, he slipped aside, out of its way, twisting into a leap that brought him down beside it as it landed.

He vaguely heard Onix's yell over his own singing; he didn't have to be told twice. With a final crescendo, he brought both blades- still humming- down at the thing's neck.

The Leecher roared with finality as Zarae's daggers knifed into the soft tissue under the bugs armor.

Onix saw Lothir drive his swords into the bugs neck; though he was happy that the bard got both of his weapons into the queen's neck, he swore under his breath at the fact that the bard forgot to twist his weapons 90 degrees, then plunge them in even harder.

Jumping from his position, the clone drew one of his tanto combat knives, and plunged the foot long blade into the Leecher's neck, right above Lothir's swords. Feeling the blade meet resistance, Onix twisted it a quarter turn to the right, engaged strength mode, and brought his other armored hand down in a fist hammer on top of the knife's handle.

The Leecher's head fell to the ground with a dull 'THUD' as the clone's knife finished what Lothir's blades had started: severing the spinal column of the creature.

Onix breathed a sigh of relief as he yanked out his blade from the corpse's neck; "and THAT my bardic friend, is what I hunt on a daily basis back where I come from," he said to Lothir.

Realizing that he forgot about the two newcomers, Onix turned his helmet around and looked up to the two elves where they were; "Ayy, you two be a blessing from the heavens or is it just my stroke of luck?" he asked with his usual dry wit, waving them to come down to talk.
