"I'm just suggesting that her actions were not the result of a mere whim," Adian said, backtracking. "But of some necessity you were not and could not have been aware of. As for a 'test," Adian said, addressing Cinder's comment. "No offense, but a deity who inflicts that degree of suffering on someone for the purposes of testing or forging them is not one worthy of much respect. There are other routes to the same degree of strength that are not so traumatic to one's own identity."

" Perhaps you are write Adain but i do believe that suffering is a form of growth and so is forgiving and maybe the god to which we are speaking is not worth respect . I am not familiar with this god. " Cinder replied. " sometimes i forget that there are unworthy gods and goddesses I myself am devout to Eilistraee and her father but like to learn of others. There is much to learn in the world. Perhaps Verake will someday be the trainer he wished he had."

Adian chuckled.

"We are doing a great deal of talking about things we do not know enough about," Adian said. "And perhaps our giant friend here becoming the man he wishes he'd had at his side might be the best balm to his oldest wounds."

He sighed.

"Even those of us who serve the gods the closest sometimes have to guess," he said. "I suppose that is where faith in them comes in."

" Adain it is I think your enormous faith and dedication to the dark maid is what aluminates from you causing this beautiful light that surrounds you and why my trainer has trained me to aid you. I except this as i have been forged to do so. " she replied getting up from the bear rug and sitting at the table with her flask of wine.

" I am dying to know what lays behind these magical stones you found. "

"The thought has crossed my mind more than once, but I've never thought of it like that. I do not know why my mother would have that imposed upon her, but then again some of the gods within the upper planes of Mount Celestia are very. . . . . stingy in their ways of thinking, even the Dragon-Father at times, though he is sometimes the most open-minded of them all."

Turning to Adian, Veraka said "if that is the case, and one that I don't doubt, then perhaps I should not be judging her to harshly."

"Cinder, I can understand how you can see that as a way of growth, but as one who has experienced it and seen it done to others first hand, I can say that that is debatable, as far as development goes. It was fortunate that my upbringing was more. . . steadfast in the way it came, else I might have succumbed to insanity."

He got out of the springs, and re-equipped his armor; "So both of you wish me to train you in sword-fighting; very well, though I'm not sure that we should if training out in the deep snow would help, but perhaps there is wisdom in your suggestion; after all, being able to move in adverse conditions is useful to have."

" And that sound like fun too Verake shall we do it at dusk there will not be as much less sunlight, it may be snowing again by tomorrow and even blizardous condions which could be fun too...hehe " she took another sip of her wine. I think we should have somemore wine and listen to Lyon play the lute perhaps he knows your song Verake. " She filled more flasks and brought one to Lyon as he played. " Thanks to Pwdn there was a plateful of biscuits that would probly last forever." Cinder giggled.

"I look forward to the lessons, then," Aidan said, climbing out of the spring. "Though if we were to go otuside now I doubt we could see our own baldes let alone each other in all the white.

"In the meantime, I too an quite curious about the stones and how they might lead to whatever answers there are here. When everyone is ready."

" Lets have another look at the book Adain " Cinder said " I am quite enjoying the flute music.

Here I have poured you some wine, and the book is right here. "
" Come to think of it there was another book in the trunk."
-She hurried to the trunk-
" here it is "
-she brought it back to the table and sat beside Adain blowed off the dust and carfully opened it-

Adian frowned as he examined the other, equally ancient, book.

"Almost as illegible as the other...and what I can make out is all in some kind of jargon. This here...I think it's a list of measurements. And...'karat'? What's a karat? Well, whatever they were working on they insisted on exact measurements. I don't recognize the units they're using, though. I have no idea what a 'kadan' is either.

"More notes about the living light...something about harnessing the source. Again with the 'death by sight'. Wait a second...they're listing different kinds of gemstones here and crossing them off. "

He stared at the strange book blankly.

"What does all this mean?" he asked. "Who here is familiar with academic magic? And what's with these measurements?"

" I am no expert Adian, but I think that it is you that must activate the power of these stones. There are again the sequences in twos, you must touch the stones in these sequences of two beside each sequences is a place and i think one of them is the cave we are seeking." Cinder said thinking carefully.

" There is a libratory here with the sequence of green and blue why don't we try it Adain? "

((aww i feel a bit left out...*sniff*...lol))

she listened as she sat their above the cave, the smell of bacon teasing her sensitive nostrils with promise of food yet not around. stretching then leaping up the rock cliff she went about looking for a back enterance to the cave, following her delicate pink nose. soon a small hole was visible in the grey stones. her stocky yet lean slick feline body squeeze in and made way thru the small tunnels made to be a chimney (well if ur gunna have all that stuff in there, their gotta be some form of a chimney).
her smoky fur picked up soot easy, giving her a charcoal color, especially her snowy colored belly. she was quiet and silent as if hunting.

Cinder hear a noise coming from the chimney the fire by now had died down and there were only hot coals. "that's odd there seems to be something in the chimney...hmmm I think that snow leopard was not satisfied with a few peaces...well a cat will be a cat " she giggled. Aurora's ears were stwitching and he barked under he breath as a warning. " I think we have company LOL" Cinder laughed.

-Cinder went over to Aurora with some left over bacon from the table giving her two more pieces, bracing her trying to reassure her with firm grip with one hand and soothing petting with the other.-

she sensed the heat from a low fire below. but her natural agility she could manage a way to not get burnt. as she closed in, she sensed they noticed her presence. but the smell of the meat was so overwhealming, so calling her to come. someone the leopard could tell had the druidic magic about them, someone who she could comune with. she paused just before the large fireplace (i figured ya try talking with her...)

Cinder opened her mind and felt the cats hesitation, she looked at Aurora " would you mind, she might be a fun playmate why don't you go out side and play with her make friends I will open the door and give her some bacon, if you like you can go out side with her." she turned her thoughts to the some what uncomfortable but determined cat in the chimney. Go on to the door i will bring you some bacon and if you make friends with Aurora you may come in too, if it is all right with every one else." ( is that ok Verake )
