the female grabbed at her throat as his hand tightened. her eyed grew large and she knew she had to think of something.
"I...can...take..." she tried to get out between gasp for air.

(do yall want to go tunnels or surface. and do yall wanna check back with quenya or have her take yall?)

The furious aasimar released his grip only just enough to let life-giving oxygen seep into her lungs.
"You can what?" he asked in a tone that said 'Lye to me and your dead.'

Veraka continued to release his grip minutely enough to let the female breathe the life giving oxygen that she so desperately needed.

The drow's lungs expanded as she took several deep gulps of oxygen; the aasimar stared her down with a look that held instant death in it.
"Now, what can you do?" he repeated, his calm that of the Grim Reaper himself.
"I. . can . . lead . . you. . . to. . . her . last . known location," she panted, even with Veraka's gauntlet holding her.

"Ranger, what say you?" Veraka asked Zek.

Folding his arms over his chest some he moved back to where the female was and he watched her." We know she was taken, during the fight in the tunnels beneath the warehouse, when we took out the fey'ri. Now, if you know of a newer location than that, good. You will lead us there. And if it is a trap, I personally will make sure that when we get out of it alive, I will kill you slowly."

Veraka kept his added pressure to her throat, "well do you know of any location, hmm?"

"I . . know of her last known location when I last saw her; I don't know if Alya has moved her since. . . . then," she slightly gasped. "She was way deeper than I . . . " she was cut off as a portal opened up next to Veraka and Zek.

Quenya's voice echoed through it; "If you two wish to know what information I have gleaned from your friends mask, then step through."

Thinking for a moment he looked to Veraka hearing Quenya's voice" Lets bring her through perhaps a small bonus. I'm all for hearing his findings." he moved from her and moves towards the portal before stepping in semi expecting to find the feyri not there or in an interesting position and condition.

Veraka nodded, and still grappling the drow, drug her through the portal to a waiting Quenya. To both his and the ranger's surprise, Neriah was still there, thought her condition was something to suspect on.

"Alright baelnorn; we're here, so what have you got for us?" Veraka asked in a dead-serious tone.

"This black mask you found was essential in her location, but my scrying was only able to reveal a general location area in which she is located, however, exact area is unknown. That other drow, Alya I believe you said her name was, seems to be using that anti-magic device; with that in place, I cannot determine anymore that what I've already told you. Is there anything else I might do to assist you; I'd rather this task be done as quick as possible," the lich said, walking up to Veraka and handing the mask back over.

"The feeling's mutual," Veraka grunted as he took the black mask back.
Looking to Zek, he added, "anything you wanna ask?"

Nodding to this he spoke" A general location is better than nothing. I appreciate you helping... oh yes... we have a new one for you to play with... a bonus. Not sure if you wish her here or not, but her being let go was too risky. I agree, I want to be done with this quickly... Well.. I'd like to have the mask back, incase she wants it back. Though we can come back here and get it. Only thing I want to know, is if your thoughts about me have changed." Sure he wanted to know many things but that was neither here nor there.

The baelnorn furrowed his brow; while this drow certainly WASN'T what he expected, he still didn't trust him, as old habits, and prejudices, die hard. Looking to the drow that the paladin was holding, he nodded for her to be released.

Veraka then added, "if she reveals anything in information, let us know; the more intelligence we have, the closer this gets to finished."

Quenya nodded at the paladin's assessment, then turned back to Zek. At the rangers curiosity, he responded "You are the most [b:1hu30ai3]atypical[/b:1hu30ai3] drow I've ever seen, heard of, even met, for that matter. My trust on you hasn't risen period."

"Well there's a news flash," Veraka chided in, not being able to hold it to himself.

The baelnorn eyed the paladin for a moment, then returned his gaze to Zek.
"However, your character is something that is unique among drow. I leave you with this; you've definitely got my curiosity of you more than my malice." With that said he turned back to his scyring pool, seeing if there's any details he missed.

"Let's go, we've got some hunting to do, and I'm sure those girls are getting antsy with Aurora around them," Veraka said, moving to the portal.

Listening he nodded in agreement to Veraka" And the sooner I get out of your hair..." figuratively speaking.. of whats left of it most likely. Shrugging to the answer" At least your honest, in that I'm somewhat comforted that you don't change notes and thoughts quickly."

Nodding he started towards the portal as well." That does not comfort me in the least." Nodding to veraka he shook his head" The girls are fine I'm sure. I'm more worried about the giant furball." He mused as he stepped through the portal.

Veraka chuckled at the mention of Aurora in her 'furball' meaning as he stepped through the portal and back into the building that they'd cleared out already.

The portal closed up behind the two as they stepped out of it; Veraka saw that Zek's initial assessment of Aurora being near spot on. Not only was the winter wolf doing a decent job of protecting the young women, she had officially become their own little pillow. At the sight, Veraka burst out laughing, not being able to contain himself.

Stepping out he chuckled some at the scene." Well.. at least we know that you're warm, and they finally feel safe with you. I can't say the same for your personal feelings." Thinking a moment" Well we might as vent our fury east, I'm ready, when you are.. or do you want to be the furry bed and pillow for the girls?"

[i:33k5et94]I would love to join you, but seeing as I have half of these lovely ladies that you two admirably rescued resting their light heads on my fur, I don't see how I'll be able to accompany you?[/i:33k5et94] Aurora replied to the ranger's query.

At the remark, Veraka came over and gently woke the sleeping girls, asking them if they were ready to travel; though some of them seemed a bit nervous, when Veraka produced a supply of swords and daggers, gathered from a stockpile in the attic, saying that they should know how to defend themselves, they readily agreed. When the aasimar had done this, and the women were well on their way to a better life in the villages that Zek had mentioned, Aurora got up, stretched her limbs and padded over to the aasimar, and ranger.

"Alright Zek, you lead, we'll follow."

Chuckling slighlty" oh but it's so nice to feel loved isn't it?" He mused before nodding some and started to finally walk out of the city past the gate. quicker he was out of the city the better he felt.
