Things do not surprise you as much anymore. The learning curve slows done. I am hard on my self because it is the only way I can keep myself going. Quenya, maybe twice my age, or around that, he and I are similar in that regard.[/i:4szoahqq] Shrugging slowly he shook his head. [i:4szoahqq]I have lived a long time Aurora, let's just say, if I looked my age, i'd be bones, or a very wrinkled old Drow. I have been alone for the greatest part of my life, and in some ways even while travelling with you, Veraka and Inrii, I still feel alone.[/i:4szoahqq]

The winter wolf chewed on the rangers words, understanding how once you've lived for such a way for your entire life, it takes the intervention of a god to change such things; it did Veraka, and he was barely entering his full on span of life.
[i:3flipecj]I suppose even if you do have an eternity behind your belt, then start to see things in a much more . . . broader point of view and an experience that some could only dream of having.[/i:3flipecj] She thought for a second, then [i:3flipecj]I find it funny how, in many ways you're alike to my little brother of an aasimar over there. You've lived for gods know how many years, and still only live one life; Veraka lived most of his life in sheer stubbornness, refusing to bend to anything or anyone, up until a few years ago, he finally started to soften his edges. Or maybe that was just the paladin in him finally yielding to something more broad, who knows. Like I said though, the main difference is literally the experience that you've gained and he has yet to, or myself for that matter.[/i:3flipecj]

Veraka watched the ranger and Aurora chat in silence for a good time; he wasn't a fool. He knew when his winter wolf friend was conversing with someone else. However, he decided not to ask of it. Whatever Aurora was saying to the ranger wasn't his ears.
"I do wonder how Quenya is gonna take to our little gift to him?" he asked himself in a whisper, noting how Neriah was starting to stir on his shoulder.

Nodding slightly he'd finish as he started again [i:f6xqoh6d] It was no intervention of the gods that saved me. I left, fought and killed to get out of the Underdark. I trained under a human and a Elf Ranger, it took many years to me to trust them. He died while we hundred an ancient black dragon. I delivered the death blow, and the bow is made from the horns. The hide armor is made from it's flesh. I've added newer material over the millenia.[/i:f6xqoh6d] Shrugging slowly he started walking before looking back to Veraka" Bash her in the head knock the wretch out and lets get out of here, before I find a reason to scorch the warehouse and we walk out of it like demons."

"I thought we already decided that this city was coming down to begin with; AND, that I would help you in that endeavor. You do know that once a paladin sets his mind to something, he doesn't quit," Veraka said as he knocked the fey'ri in the head. He smiled at the thought, cause he had promised the ranger he'd assist in bringing this place to ashes, and after witnessing the city first hand, he could honestly say that it wasn't a bad idea.

Aurora, whom Zek had revealed some personal thoughts to, reverted back to her normal, charismatic furball self; [i:vlz299s5]You do realize that even if you don't scorch this entire town, as you've aptly told us many times before, he will. Once Veraka makes a promise whether it be stupid or not, he follows through with it, a celestial-born to the very end.[/i:vlz299s5]

Veraka gave a wicked grin, and then, said to the ranger, "after you; I'd prefer to see Quenya with something that will provoke him to LETTING us blow this place to kingdom come."

Thinking for a moment." Down or up? Depends on how you scorch the city. Blow it up, or raze it to the ground." Chuckling slightly at hearing the sound of something hitting her head. He looked to Aurora and nodded" Either way, I wouldn't mind seeing the sight to be honest." Nodding to Veraka he continued walking and thought for a moment grinning" Hope they have explosives in here.... it'll make the end result all the more spectacular." He'd head out of the warehouse." Simple, probably the idea that one got away while we were dealing with your fiend girlfriend." he quipped.

Aurora chuckled at the ranger's little jest at her aasimar friend. [i:2lcs7v5r]Yeah, either that, or the mere fact that a paladin even considered the idea,[i/] she remarked to the ranger

"What?!?" the aasimar said, giving Zek a coy grin; "with looks like she has, was she not trying to cut our throats out, and didn't have that sense of malice upon her, I wouldn't shy away the opportunity."

The winter wolf shook her head as she paced Zek as they all left the warehouse; as I said, a paladin, of all people. A holy warrior of the Dark Maiden and you would want to take in a fey'ri in with you. Dear, dear.[/i:2lcs7v5r] She projected the thought as to both of them could hear it.

"Uh-huh, and the Dark Maiden preaches that if, like I said before, if she were to offer no hostility towards any of us and wasn't with those rogues, then she'd be accepted into the faith," Veraka responded, not missing a beat.

Aurora turned around and looked at him for what seemed like a solid minute, then finally said; [i:2lcs7v5r]curse your foul and insightful logic, wise-crack.[/i:2lcs7v5r]
Veraka merely smirked, then to Zek, "well, I don't wanna keep our client waiting if I can help it, so I'm up for swinging by his tower-o-doom and dumping her off," he gestured toward Neriah.

Chuckling slightly." If she wouldn't stab one in the back... The concept is intriguing.. see what the big deal with playing with the infernals and celestials is." He mused as he walked with them. Laughing he shook his head hearing her." See, you follow a faith and a deity, I've yet to well really follow any exactly or directly." Looking to Veraka." There is still tieing her down, nulling her magic...." He continued as he was making his way towards the tower o doom as it were." Besides, being a rogue, and assassin has its perks..." He mused.." The Fey'ri has looks, but if I was to anything, it'd be on my terms. Her bound and gagged, no magic... Which makes me start to question what Quenya wants with her and the other. I wouldn't think it'd be such carnal activities, but hey, at his age I don't blame him. Solitude of that degree one has to get bored and lonely." The drow had a sick twisted mind, dark humor." Though I'm sure you're not much different than me are you? Waiting for that special one." He said flatly, a complete 180 from the light hearted conversation from before.

Veraka hearing Zek's remark about Qnuenya, shook his head in disgust as he tried to rid the thought from his mind, letting out a groan. Aurora merely chuckled at his reaction.

It was Zek's last comment that caught the aasimar completely off guard, mostly because he didn't expect the ranger to have that on his mind. Not seeing a point to not answer, he replied, "yeah, you could definitely say that; just hope that I'm not the cause of her death myself." He hoped that the ranger was serious about what he was saying and not being his normal dark, sarcastic self.

He shrugged slightly." Who knows, unless you can see into the future, there's no gaurantees on that. Even then, you can change the future." Looking at the two of them for a moment, he was going to say something sarcastic but he said something else entirely."As for the last part? I was serious."

Veraka nodded his head to the ranger, glad that he had been non-joking on that last statement of his; "Glad to see we're both take one topic seriously. Well, who knows when either of us will find that special one; all I know is we'd better get this package back to Quenya," he said, pointing to Neriah, who was still unconscious on his shoulder.

Aurora looked at Veraka with a curious glance, tilting her head to one side; [i:26wqz2dl]are you sure that you're gonna be alright with this?[/i:26wqz2dl] she asked him.

He nodded, replying "she tried to take my head; what am I losing. I think the question is what am I gaining?"

Thinking for a moment he chuckled looking to the two of them." I do take some things dreadfully seriously. That is one of them, I have not looked, nor have I wanted. Old wounds do not heal easily. As for her. It'd be good to get rid of her, it would be best for the city, the people and overall the thieves guild as a whole. Rogues have a bad enough reputation, no need to be enlisted as demon worshippers."

"Agreed," replied Veraka, looking for the tower, "well then I suggest that we not keep our employer waiting; baelnorn's are known for many things, but patience is not at the top of that list," he pointed to the tower.

"I think I'll let you do the talking, unless you want me to talk, but I really didn't get a good account of the fight, including Alya; come to think of it, didn't even see her."

I don't recall the last time I dealt with a baelnorn." Shrugging" In any event.. the sooner we get done with this the better." He'd pick his pace up some, as the sooner their package was delivered, the faster they could track down inrii.

Veraka followed Zek, keeping the fey'ri on his shoulder and making sure that she didn't move. Aurora followed beside the ranger, keeping an eye on some wary glances that were cast their way.

What really got her attention was a young woman, not of the best of apperances, who ran off toward what Aurora guessed was the guard post.
Opening a link to the ranger, she said [i:2zr7fpv2]though I'm all for getting the demoness out of our presence, it might be wise to do so in a more subtle fashion.[/i:2zr7fpv2] She directed his attention to the running girl.
[i:2zr7fpv2]And might I suggest that we do it in a bloodless fashion to; the last thing we need is more guards trying to hunt us down for simply removing a pest from their side.[/i:2zr7fpv2]

" The whole damn city, probably feels that they're heroes and we're the villains... double time guys legs to. Have it in you to start running?" He really hoped Quenya would help just a little bit. They did the hard work.
