Drakin looked around at the elves and smiled. If he guessed Inrii correctly, she was close by with some 'fireworks' ready.
Drakin grabbed the commander by the shoulder, "We maybe surrounded, but remember if they make a move against us, you will die. And trust me, this will not be the kind of death that your people would be proud of."

"all can be forgiven. we want no more death. let us go and we will take leave of your home. I or Veraka will see that the drow come with us. no one else need be injured or killed."
turning to the half drow, "Drakin, you will need to let him go. they will not do otherwise. Ar-tel-quessir are noble people. if not then Aurora would not have tried to stop this fight."
-----
Inrii chuckles, 'no more death. tho I wonder who will make we leave?'
she listens to Gilmahs thought for any sign of treachery.

"Hey tall, dark, and lethal, did ya catch that, or are you drunk on that wormwood alcohol again," Veraka jeered to his assassin friend, "honestly, if that's the case, you're definitely not getting those couple of strong drinks after this." [i:3cmfbnr6]Now I just hope he's not as stupid as he was when I first met 'im[/i:3cmfbnr6] the storm warrior thought to himself.
Both Gilmahs and the sun elf on the ground looked at Veraka, looks of confusion etched across their faces. The giant of a man was [b:3cmfbnr6]joking[/b:3cmfbnr6] with the half-drow assassin. This would be interesting, to say the least.
"You mean to tell me and my comrades here that you know this half-drow?" the sun elf asked.
"You could say that, sorta," Veraka responded, looking up at Drakin.

"I may have had some before the fight with the Drow before," Drakin said offhand, "But that was a while before, and besides, it's not fun till you get the second glass. Sadly the fight started before then, or I may have had more fun at the time."
He looked at Gilmah, then sighed, "I always do hate turning such an entertaining hostage back over." he said remembering the squished frog in Gilmah's armor, "You may want to wash that off fairly soon, I have no clue what kind of frog that was, and some of them are pretty toxic, though if that was the case, you'd be dead by now."
Drakin turned back to Veraka, intending to get revenge for that drunk comment, "That was only once, but you were worse off than I. Really, how could such a fat man lose to a skinny elf like me in a drinking contest? Though, come to think of it, you were much more entertaining than your normal gloomy self."

Veraka cocked an eyebrow at Drakin, "Bah, you got no reasoning behind your logic. As I recall, elves by their nature are capable of ingesting more alcohol than humans and remain sober, sides, as I recall, and I do remember this, I believe you spiked my drink with something; to this day, I've not found out what it was you put in there, but I know you did it."
"and you mean to tell me that you took down the that one," pointing at Taberina, "while you were hammered?"
The warrior could only imagine what was going through Inrii's and Ariali's heads right now. He decided to add one more curve ball to the playing field, just for fun.
"I remind you, Drakin, that I wasn't the one who proposed to that young elf maiden when we were back in Waterdeep, because my intoxication levels were so high.," he chuckled at the memory of the assassin being so out of it, he asked for that elven woman's hand in marriage. Veraka merely smiled..
Both Gilmahs and his second in command were drop jaw at how the armored warrior and the half-drow could strike up a half-decent conversation, and still not end up with blades at each other's throats.

Ariali just rolled her eyes. 'just like boys' she thought.
She cleared her throat to remind the frat boys they might want to wait till they deal with the priestess and patrols first.
-----
from nowhere, almost as if it were a ghost a laugh could be heard. everything had become way to comical.
She was still invisible, but she just gave away her position.
she controlled herself and moved before any found her.

"Hey now wait a sec!" Drakin said holding up a hand, "You can't deny that she wasn't cute, besides we've been helping the master of the East Tower for, well, most of our lives. She as the apprentice and me. . . well the assassin."
He turned to Taberina and continued, "And no I wasn't 'hammered' just. . . buzzed when I fought her. Though I do have to thank you for helping me test out that powder, I've had some fun with it since." he finished with a laugh.
"But I believe we're getting sidetracked from our current situation," he said looking around at the elves, "I understand they keep their word. But, I still don't like being in the middle of these elves very much."

Inrii walks twords Veraka and whispers, "now this story I gotta hear. Plus I owe you from the last trip."
-----
Ariali rubbed her forehead.
"so is this settled," she ask Gimahs, "we let yall go, yall let us leave here."
asking Veraka, "I sopose we're taking the prisioner? or leaving her at the mercy of them?" indicating the patrol.

Veraka had to snicker at the idea of letting Inrii in on [b:1hdu7lrv]that[/b:1hdu7lrv] particular story of Drakin; "oh I believe that we'll have time for that."
Gilmahs looked to the Sy'Tel'Quessir called Airali, "yes, I do believe that we will be out of your hair, provided you stay out of our village that is nearby."
Veraka and Aurora turned to leave with the rest, when the sun elf called to him; "wait, warrior; a question for you if you wouldn't mind."
The storm warrior grunted his response.
Gilmahs continued, "aside from what your friend Airali told my compatriots, what did you come here for?"
"Why do you wish to know?" the paladin responded.
Gilmahs straightened, "because it is unusual for an armored tank of a warrior like yourself to travel around with a Lythari, a drow, half-drow, and a winter wolf as an animal companion; and a drow priestess as a prisoner; not very humans that I've seen know a drow and half-drow as non-enemies. . . "
"friends and allies," Veraka corrected in a stern tone.
"as friends, as you said. Why would you come looking here, and for what?" the sun elf asked.
Veraka saw no harm in telling Gilmahs why he was traversing Cormanthor forest.
"My reason for coming through here is simple; to find a cleric that is well versed in understanding dreams and the like."

Ariali nodded.
[color=green:28xbw5ok]another fight avoided[/color:28xbw5ok].
She listened to his confusion.
"weirder groups have began thru the most unique situations. and in the end becoming the closest of friends."

"that and your being drunk too," Inrii whispered, "I bet your assassin has some great stories."
Ariali nodded.

Gilmahs nodded in Ariali's direction, "that is true, though I believe this group will be one of the most interesting one's as of yet."
He turned to regard Veraka, "if you do indeed seek a cleric, then perhaps my patrol and I may be of assistance to you and your band here."
Veraka was caught off guard, but regained his composure quickly; "explain."
"While I cannot permit your companions, save Ariali here, to enter our territory, and village, I can and will permit you to enter and find out if our resident cleric could be of use to you."
Veraka chewed on the idea for long time, but glaring look from Aurora kept his mind in one place.
"While I appreciate the . . ," he paused, searching for the right word, "gesture, I will not leave my compatriots behind because of their racial heritage; and furthermore, I need a reader whom is very practiced in the art, as well as had previous experience with similar types of situations."

she put her hand on his forearm, "what if they are an answer? I know your friends would understand if they are here with you as it is. besides, Inrii and Drakin can probably entertain themselves, and with Aurora watching them. but truthfully, I would also stand by the same decision and not abandon my friends"
--
Inrii then whispers to Drakin after hearng Ariali, "i bet a copper he would go if she asked him to."

"A bet well placed," Drakin replied. Then sighed, "Well if they go, I guess we'll have to follow and keep them out of trouble. Though I'd hate to waste Ariali's suggestion," he continued looking at Inrii, then cursed at himself, "Always hated wasting such a good opportunity."
Drakin walked over to Veraka and whispered, "Make sure to take the Drow with you. Don't argue." he said when he saw Veraka opening his mouth, hitting him with the butt of the dagger over his helm as he did so, "Ariali's right, this is about the best opportunity your going to get. Even if the cleric can't figure out your dream, he maybe able to point us in the direction."

Veraka felt a hand on his forearm and looked over to see Ariali; he smiled at her. At the mention of dragging the priestess with him, the assimar was about to tell him to screw that idea when the assassin wapped him on his helmet with one of his daggers. Veraka stoically accepted the blow, took off his helmet, and glared the assassin in the eye.
"Alright, but the next time we come into a tavern, you're buyin the rounds, ass," he said, as he looked to Gilmahs; "ok, well since my companions have convinced me otherwise, I shall accompany you to your village, and see if your local cleric has any knowledge of my debacle.
"Aurora, would please keep an eye on the burrow-related assassin and the crazed pyro-maniac; make sure they don't ignite something, both fiery or otherwise," he said out loud, to make sure that Drakin heard him.

"That's fine, I'll buy. At least it's better than the pig water you always end up getting," Drakin said to Veraka, "And don't worry, we won't wreck the campsite. . . much."
