Gilmahs felt his anger rise at the thought of being held hostage by a half-drow, a half-drow of all things. He seethed at the remark the half-blood bestowed upon him, but knew that there was little that he could do at the moment.
"I heard that, twig!" Veraka shouted through the corridor, "just keep this fool around, I'm gonna want some answers from him."
The storm warrior rounded another corner, just to have bring his shield up in front of his face to deflect a barrage of arrows that came in from the forest trees.
"Well now that I've got their attention, this should be much easier for the pyro to do her job."

Drakin heard Veraka's comment, but was at the moment more interested in the elf's movements, he seemed to be trying a weird kind of dance where he was jumping up and down and clawing at the back of his armor. Not wanting the elfto draw too much attention, as well as not want the elf to distract him from the battle, Drakin quickly hit him in the chest with his palm and swept his legs out from under him. As the elf landed on his back, Drakin heard a sickening squishing sound from the elf. The elf's eyes widened in an interesting display of disgust and horror.
Drakin turned him over onto his stomach as he layed there, almost as if he were paralyzed, and saw what made the 'squish!', what had once been a toad was now nothing more than an interesting greenish paste. Drakin turned to the battlefeild and whispered to himself, "I'm gonna have to remember to check my shoes in the morning with this Drow."
Drakin had a feeling that this. . . adventure, was going to get more interesting. He was beginning to be glad his master sent him. Even though he still had no clue in the Nine Hells what he was looking for.

((are the elves evil or just wanting to protect their home? ariali will wait till aurora answers back to speak)). things were quickly disintegrating from bad to worse. she couldnt get a clear shot of the evils to see is she could make out their (alingment?) auras.
----
She heard the commotion behind her. she didnt hate the elves of the forest. but she didnt like them either. plus, Drakin was dealing with the now scrimy male. their was a nit of a wicked smile on her ebony face.
She then heard Verka. Inrii smiled again in simple delight at the thought of setting something ablazed. she had gained control over her new-found abilities so their would be no more 'backfire'. She knew better ways to deal fireballs.
Her hand went thru the motions when something made her pause.

((Wanting to protect their home, but also curious at why the travels are here.))
Aurora came bolting around the corner from where Veraka was keeping the hidden elven archer's attention, causing Inrii to stop her spellcasting.
[i:2ndirdif]Wait I don't think that these elves mean us harm[/i:2ndirdif]
[i:2ndirdif]Tell that to them[/i:2ndirdif] Veraka thought back to her as an arrow came in and found a crease in his armor, penetrating through to his skin; he grunted at the pain, but kept his shield raised, taking the continuing arrow barrage.
Aurora growled, then turned and made her way to the entrance closest to Ariali and let loose a series of yips to the Lythari, telling her that she was needed if the situation was going to quell down.

Ariali didnt want to leave the priestess alone. an idea hit her. very few drow knew of her race, especially underdark drow.
She shifted to her large wolf size, 10' long and 5' at the shoulders. taler than most drow stood.
She forced the drowess to talked twords the group, a deadly and serious growl making her move.
they made their way twords the gathering. She saw Veraka with an arrow in him.
She let out a loud peircing howl equivalent to, 'enough', and being a black wolf her size, made all pause their fighting. Her gold eyes piercing into everyone's soul.
she hoped her bluff was enough
----
Inrii saw Aurora rush pass her, almost run into her unseen small frame. then she saw the wolf forcing the spider-kisser twords them.
'this should be interesting.' she thought.
the howl made Inrii grab her ears; her keen ears picked up the sound load and clear.

Taberina could barely think straight, when a huge black wolf lifted her off the ground and, growling at her, forced her to walk forward toward the group of hostile surface elves.
Veraka noticed how the arrow onslaught had stopped outright, and for good reason; standing very close to the battle line, the drow priestess was there, followed very closely by a large black wolf.
"Ariali, clever girl," he whispered to himself.
Gilmahs noticed that there was now a drow priestess in the battle, only she seemed to be in some sort of hostage situation. Upon seeing this, he started to make murmuring sounds, trying to get the assassin to lift his glove off of his mouth.

Ariali winked to Veraka.
'now maybe we can get some kinda of understanding here!' she thought.
She walked enough out of sight and then changed to her elf form and headed back to the group.
with a tone and enough harshness to sound like a severe scolding, that surprised even the reserved lythari, "all weapons down! now lets settle this stupid squabble like people."
------
"so much for barbecue," Inrii whispered as she headed twords the front. She planned to remain unseen as long as she could.

Veraka nodded to Ariali as she seemed to take command of the situation, a smirk forming on his features. He noticed how another sun elf emerged from the forest thicket, his hands in a non-threatening posture.
"Let's see what happens next, eh."
The sun elf knew that he had placed himself in a very jeopardizing position, but he to, like the Lythari female, did not wish for blood shed, only to have his leader returned to his patrol.
"What is it you all are doing here?" he asked, his tone calm and even.

Drakin stayed back with the Sun Elf commander. If he was needed Veraka knew how to contact him. And if things went wrong, well he could show what a precarious position that the commander was in. He kept his eyes open for any scouts sent by the elves.
"Well, well, well, looks like we may get out of here peacefully after all," Drakin whispered into the commander's ear. "I was hoping for a little more excitement. . . ah well nothing can be done about that I guess. Let us just wait here a little longer, then we'll probably return you to your comrades."

"we are here by accident. a small village was attacked recently and were forced to evacuate. we sent all those unable to fight to another village while the rest stood their ground and defeated a drow raiding party," she pointed the the priestess prisioner. "when we finished, I opened a portal to get us back to the others, and it open here. why, only the Seldarine knows." Ariali purposely used the elven pantheon in hopes to get the peaceful resolution; plus she was elven.
-----
Inrii walked thru the people, checking the elves pockets for anything useful. then she stood near her party companions.
Inrii whispered to Drakin, "it may still get exciting."

Drakin smiled as he heard Inrii's voice to the side. "One can only hope." he said watching the conversation without much interest.

Upon hearing Ariali's use of the Seldarine, the elf relaxed a bit, but didn't let his guard down, as the goliath of a man stood up to his full height and walked over, despite having an arrow protruding from his mid torso. The enormous winter wolf followed him out, yet it did not attack, to the elf's surprise.
"But, it there was a village attacked, then by what god is this winter wolf doing here?" he asked out loud, not expecting anyone to truly answer.
"I believe I can answer that," Veraka spoke up in his usual serious voice, "Aurora here is my animal companion; and before you ask, yes, she is a good aligned creature."
"How odd that a winter wolf would be a non-evil one; is she a follower of Selune, and how come she cannot answer on her own?" the elf prodded, trying not to sound noisy, but he was curious.
"To your first question, yes, Aurora does follow Selune; as for the second, I'm not sure as to why she cannot vocalize her own thoughts; we believe it has something to do with the fact that she's not evil."
The elf thought to himself for a second, processing his current ordeal. "I believe an apology is in order, provided that my patrol and I may get our leader back."
"Not a problem; Drakin!!" Veraka shouted.

"now, that we're getting somewhere, why would you think we were enemies, Ar-tel-quessir?" using the name they call themself, "why just open fire?"
her dress and mannerism are obvious she is a Sy'Tel'Quessir, a wild elf.
-----
Inrii watches the exchange, wondering if she should make some trouble right now...

Drakin sighed, "Well it looks like we're not gonna have much fun right now after all."
Drakin got up and pulled the elven commander with him and stepped out of the woods near Veraka. The elves shouted in anger and started raising their weapons at the sight of their commander captured by a half-drow.
Drakin said to the commander, "Tell your comrades to put their weapons down. Something bad may happen to you if they don't."
To get his point across Drakin pressed the dagger against his back.

Gilmahs understood at once what the assassin implied as the half-drow poked his back with the dagger; "Lower all your weapons," he shouted to his comrades in the forest; he didn't know if the half-drow could tell, but he 'saw' all of his compatriots lower the weapons.
"They are down."
"We did not know if you and your. . . ." he paused, giving Veraka a look over, "friend here were enemies, like the half-breed and the other two drow, or whether you were in the area."
He turned to Veraka, "forgive me and my patrol for our misunderstanding; we thought that you would go crazy on us for a moment."
"Not a problem; fortunately for the both of us, my armor took most of the damage, so I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, I believe that my Lythari friend here can heal most, if not all the damage." After that, Drakin came forth with the elven commander, though the commander looked nervous. What he said next confirmed his suspicions.
The storm warrior looked around, and realized that about a dozen elves had him and Ariali surrounded, though their weapons were lowered.
"I swear, I could kill that half-drow sometimes," he grumbled.
