Veraka couldn't help but laugh, a bemused expression coming across his face.

Veraka looked up ahead of where the trail lead to, and looked at his drow companions; the farms ahead of them were going to be difficult to get through . . [i:2sujc14p]unless; Aurora, you're gonna be our rabbit. You okay with that?
Her face lit up as she took off in the direction of the farming communities. [/i:2sujc14p]

" Fair.. is supposed to be this balance thing.. like all is fair in war or something." Watching the animal take off he looked at Veraka." Let me guess, running distraction for us? Just hope that they're not advanced enough to have spotters. One of the better chances we have to evade being seen is through tall crops." He knew he could hide in foliage quite well, it helped him get some sleep in the wilderness, but also let him hunt more elusive and predatory type targets.

Nodding in Zeks direction, Veraka explained "Aurora, though she may be the largest out of all of us, but she is also prob the fastest to. Besides, even if they do have spotters, they're attention is going to drawn toward her. Most communities like this one care more about a wolf that is near than a traveling band like us; think about it."

"We should always have a fallback plan anyways; I believe what you said would be our best bet."

Chuckling slightly" I agree, and if the crops are poor this year, they'll be far more upset over a wild beast charging into their lands than a band of travellers whom are clearly just wandering through." In his mind he was already working out and thinking of various contingency plans of means to escape and evade detection. When you lived your life having at least five or six plans in mind and thinking several steps ahead for each, you learn that adapting and thinking of things on the fly sometimes is the best way to go.

Elsewhere, a good mile ahead the her band, Aurora sped through the trail, her keen ears already picking up shouts of the first of the farming communities ahead of her. She knew her task was simple at best; attract the attention of the majority of the farmers and people within the area to allow her assimar friend and his group to pass through unhindered. Spotting the perfect opportunity; a fairly large flock of sheep ahead of her.

She noticed signs of a new farm. this one had impeded into the woods more than she had seen before.
'uncle jezz will not be happy about this,' she thought.
Inrii promptly stopped when she heard the wolf head, her hands went going thru the motions. her ebony skin became brown and her knee-length bluish silver hair became a deep green. her nicely crafted black spidersilk clothing became a tan leather top and skirt with furlined leather boots. Her lean athletic structure gave her an even more exotic look.
"there, that should work, our surface cousins are often welcomed here. does anyone else need help with a disguise?"

Watching her, he just rummaged through one of his bags, pulling out a couple things, and while under the hood he was applying it to his face with the occasional glance in the mirror. He could get by with the hair color but the skin tone he managed to change making it lighter. He just gave her a glance." Not yet, but just keep it on hand... I've done this many times." As he slowly moved the hood back, he was adding a dye, to add some gray and bits of coloring to his hair it was a cheap trick. When he was done he checked his face in the mirror, the skin was much lighter, a hint of the black, but it looked more ashen gray. It'd do, the white hair just made him look older.. which in some ways bothered him." So, what do you think?" he asked as he finished the finer details." When I had to go into cities that loathed our kin, I did this.. made getting jobs much easier. That and other things." The things he did to get by. He looked at his feline familiar" not a word." he cleared his throat, preparing his voice to have a different accent. Things you have to do to survive.

Zazzt smiled, "Nay, I have methods to get around prejudice." He lifted his hands, and as they rose, his skin tone changed, becoming lighter, the drow black replaced by sun elf white. Even his hair changed, becoming a golden, matching with now bright blue eyes. His clothing changed from tatters to a fine, flowing robe, emblazoned with golden dragons, and his staff changed, becoming an ornate adamantine veined thing with a ruby the size of his fist on top. Zazzt the monk became Ellyon the archmage, "So then, are we set for our village trip?"

"Should it be needed, I can disguise everyone here plus a few more. Zekafae, you now look, old. like 7 cenutries old. It may work, just say your from an old tribe from those waterless lands. we can put some leaves in and add a few feathers," she said and proceeded to drop a few leaves in his hair giggling. "so, Zazzt, what's your ruby worth? just curious..."
"ok, I'm done. but back to seriousness, the actual village should be a few miles out of the forest and they should have horses. they wont be the best mounts, but they should suffice. and we can travel most the way to daggerfalls. tho, now that I think about it, I should thought to sneak a lizard mount before running off thru the woods. ah hindsight..."

Veraka's eyebrows shot up as he just witnessed the three drow that he'd been traveling with took on the appearance of surface three surface elves. Quickly recovering his composure, he shook his head, saying "As much as I love to use the stealth and sneaky approach, I prefer a straight-forward approach; but enough bantering about preferences and the like."
Veraka turned to Inri, explained "I think we'll only need three horses rather than four, seeing as I don't have the coin necessary to purchase a mount; also, Aurora is more than capable and willing to let me ride on her back."

He just gave a smile, before watching eili dash off to some shrubs. It wasn't long before it returned with a couple feathers and the sound of a slightly upset bird who's nest had been raided of feathers for aesthetics. Shaking his head at the leaved, he slipped the feathers in, idly wrapping and seemingly to intwine his hair with the feathers. At her comment he just smiled" Lets keep my age out of this, okay? I'd go for older, but I might be confused with another type.. which I don't feel like going that route." Looking at Veraka he just shrugged slightly." I usually do prefer straight and to the point approach, but my arrows and my skills I prefer using on something of the non elven variety.... usually." he ended with a wry smirk if it was possible the smile would go ear to ear in a horrid fashion, thankfully for them it couldn't.

after everyone finished, she headed down the trail Aurora bounded down.

he just smiled at that" If you want mounts, I'm sure either of us could procure them.. for free even." At times he wished he could polymorph his cat into something else then again eili had her uses. Especially theft." I personally don't mind a good run."

"That won't be necessary, I assure you." Veraka said to Zek, holding out his hand, palm facing outward, to emphasize his point; "besides, I, like yourself, don't mind the occasional run through the woods. Not only good stamina builder, but Aurora loves to race me from time to time."

"well with this journey, you'll get enough of a running. after we reach Daggerfalls, it's likely to be a long journey. but whatever fancies you. I'm sure the farmer wont miss one horse, well unless its his only one."
