The Half Moon Inn and Festhall

She looked worriedly at the two men as it seemed they where going to fight. She would have liked to step in, she would of liked to stop the fight. She closed her eyes for a minute as pressure built up at her temples turning quickly to pain. Her brow furrowed as her eyes closed and when she opened them her startlingly red eyes now had violet streaked hilights in their depths. She moved out of her seat and backed up. Away from the paladin and the assassin, she could try to step in but...that choice would take her down a path she wasnt meant to walk.
Her hood went back up over her head a single strip of thin parchment falling onto the table beside the mostly empty bottle of wine and in the next moment she had retreated into the shadows away from the two, before anyone had a chance to notice she was gone retreating out towards the doors that would lead her to the gardens, she was not leaving the inn she just could not be apart of that, her nature would not allow her to watch another get hurt needlessly and she was not permitted to interviene.
The two sides of her warred and the pain in her head intensified, and as if it was not bad enough as she stepped outside the light seared her eyes, forced to close them she leaned against the wall outside pulling a pair of redish violet tinted glasses from inside her robes, she deftly slid them into place where they would block out the majority of the sunlight and the shadows of her hood would block out the rest, enough that it would ease the pain. She slid down the wall outside as she was forced to listen to the louder of the events that might unfold inside. She already knew what was happening, what was goign to happen and that was bad enough.
As she slid down the side of the wall she placed her hands to her temples mumbling under her breath.

OOC: Meh, who cares... like I said, just making your job easier.
IC: Rogar stood up also, laughing, "Come now, do not think that your are the first self righteous fool to ask me that. Besides, look through the names again, you will find most of them to be other self righteous fools like yourself." With that took another drink from his flagon of mead, "Tell me, paladin, which god do you worship? So that I can carve his symbol on your grave." Then, as an afterthought, "But it need not come to that, you know. I came to this place to avoid confrontations. Enjoy the wine," Rogar looked past Talwyn's shoulder, "And the women. We can always hack at each other's later. In any case, there is that drow who would avoid this whole thing." He chuckled, meaning that strange drow who was clad in white,"I assure you will hear more of me in the coming days."

The conversation and company had been most enjoyable until the masked man had come in to the taproom. T'risstree had been keeping an ear out, catching snippets of the conversation he and the woman in the silver and white cloak where having. Her eyebrows narrowed in slow anger as she overheard him trying to intimidate the woman who had done nothing at all but become the target of this mans' cruel game.
Then she ducked slightly as the assassin disdainfully threw a notebook which had the names of his victims onto the table she and the others were seated at.
Pushing her chair back she turned about to observe the assassin, gauging him with a professional eye. Tall but not heavily built would indicate high agility, good speed and some strength. Armed with a bow <hopeless in combat at close quarter>, a longsword and dagger were also visible. He appeared unarmoured, wearing very fine made clothing possibly with some hidden enchantment maybe and as such, he would probably be relying on a two weapon fighting style, his agility and speed to avoid being hit. The scar just visible near his neck showed that he'd been seriously wounded in a fight a while ago.
The assassin then set to goading Talwyn, making sarcastic remarks about being judged for his sins and taunting the paladin to act. She noted that Talwyn had remained calm, that was a good sign. He'd looked through the book and had stated that the assassin had condemned himself. That was enough for her.
The woman who had been seated with the assassin had gotten up and had backed away, probably afraid to get involved in the fight that seemed to be just moments away from breaking out. She appeared to be mumbling something in drow but T'rsstree didn't hear it clearly as the assassin was boasting about how many on the list were good people like the paladin and he'd killed them all.
She inhaled deeply, relaxing her body and muscles. She slowly stood up, like a tiger awaking from it's slumber and stretching its body ready to spring into action in an instant. Her golden amber eyes were flashing angrily but her breathing and demeanour were outwardly calm.
"I know your kind. I know you rely on the quiet knife in the dark, the sneak attack, the surprise stab in the back. Believe me I know you. Your list is pathetically small and laughable compared to the nightknives I have known back in my city. You tally is but the takings of an incompetent apprentice and it seems that you're sloppy and reckless as well. If death is what you seek, you wish will be granted." [/color:2fra3d81]She said in her low lilting soft voice that carried pure malice as she seemed to become darker with every word she spoke. The shadows in the taproom grew longer as the light began to grow dim. It was as if the light itself was being sucked away.

"Oh, but milady, compare me not to the drow that you have known. I am naught but a humble human, without the long years that you elves posses." Rogar said quietly, "And as I have said, I came here for a few drinks between jobs. As for your comment about a knife in the back... now that, lady i must disagree with, I would just as soon fight some one on open ground, as put my fine dagger here in your back." Rogar smiled at her trick, "Do you really think that I fear darkness, being what I am."

While the whole confrentation went on, Elenwe dipped her head and mumbled something to Zzadrina, who nodded and slipped away unnoticed to Katrianas office.
" Milady?"[/color:22moo249] She knocked softly, and the door opened to reveal the tall moonelf.
" Yes, Zzadrina?"[/color:22moo249]
" You've an assassin in your Inn. It looks like a fight might break out." [/color:22moo249]Katrianas face hardened, but she nodded.
" Thank you, Zzadrina, for telling me."[/color:22moo249] With a slight smile, Zzadrina slipped back into the taproom, and noone ever noticed she was gone.
Within a few moments, Katriana herself came gliding out from the back hallway, two female guards in tow. Several patrons stood up to explain the situation to her, but she waved them back with a small gesture. All eyes fixed upon her and the plate-mail wearing guards as Katriana walked into the main part of the taproom, casting a dissaproving eye on those involved.
" I will admit that I do not know the full extent of this confrentation here, but it will not happen within the walls of my establishment. I have no say on what happens outside of my walls, but if you must carry out this fight of yours, it will not happen here."[/color:22moo249] She fixed her bright blue gaze on the assassin Zzadrina haad spoken about.
" If you will fight, you will leave. I will not have anyone murdered or hurt upon the premises. If you still intend to carry out your work here, disreputable as it is, you will leave within the next thirty minutes. Am I clear?"[/color:22moo249] The room was completely silent, and those not involved doubted they would be able to speak up even if they wanted to.

Rogar looked at her out of the corner of his eye, "I couldn't agree more, as I have told that undoubtably... fine man over there," He waved a hand in Talwyn's direction, "I came here to rest, and enjoy the company of my fellow man. But, before I return to my delicious food, I would like to ask you a question." Rogar looked Talwyn striaght in the eye, "What god do you serve?" He rasped out.

Lothir looks from Talwyn to the assassin, sensing the tension rising between the two. "Judging from his attitude, I'd go with the hemp. Silk's just to fine for him." he quips.
<There is going to be blood here.> he realizes, and stands up, moving away from the table slightly. <I think it's time to clear the air a bit...>
He picks up his lute, and begins on a quiet song, unobtrusively weaving a spell into it. His ice-blue gaze turns on the assassin in particular. {Calm Emotions} And just in case that isn't enough, he combines it with a counter-point tune meant to aid his companions.

Rogar looked at Lothir, "A little music will not make me forget what those blasted Tormites did to my village, to ME, all those years ago." He pulled back the cloth covering his face, showing the burn that cover the whole left side of his face. The skin on his mouth had melted together, but the strangest thing was his eye. It was slightly larger than a normal eye, with a red and black spiral coming out of where the pupil would be, "They burned down my entire village, killed my parents, and left me for dead, all because we worshiped another god. Or the fact that we lived in the south, either way, I was only a child, and THIS is what they did to me. So bard, neither your music nor any calming effect will make me forget my vengance." With that he lowered the cloth back in place and glared at Talwyn, "So, paladin, answer me, what god do you serve?"

He stops in mid-note, suddenly making an uncharacteristically dischordant noise, and stares in shock at the assassin, then turns back to his companion, the song forgotten. He shakes his head, silently making ready with another spell, cool gaze narrowed.
"No true Tormite would ever do such a thing. Would they?" he asks Talwyn, a little confused. "Maybe a better question would be what god do YOU serve, sir?" He cautiously moves toward the women, putting himself between them and whatever this hostile human might do.

Rogar pulled out an amulet of Bhaal, "I do not hide my faith, I worship Bhaal, Lord of Murder, one of his servants found my village, and pulled my half dead form from the ashes. He healed me, and trained me in the art of tracking, and surviving in the wild. When I was old enough he taught me the art of assassinations. Then, as is the custom, he became my first target." Rogar turned to T'risstree, "You will not find his name in that book, his name is ten books earlier."

He gives a slight shudder of disgust, his features crinkled up as if he smells something foul. "Really? You really MUST meet my sister Morganna. I'm sure the two of you would get along famously- if she didn't kill you the first night!" he says cynically. <Wonderful. As if ONE crazed assassin weren't enough trouble in my life...>

Rogar shrugged, "Perhaps, although probably not, I target only Tormites, or at least I try. But in any case, I have no need for an assistant, or a partner, this is something I do alone."

I gazed back serenely at the deranged assassin who blathered about his village being put to the sword, allegedly by Tormtar.
"You're definately not a very observant murderer. Most people with more than an once of brain power would have seen the Golden plate armour, the gauntlets with have inscribed the credo of honour & duty and the small symbol I wear around my neck and deduced whom I serve. And if Tormtar put your village to the sword then they were doing the world a favour by removing a miserable pack of diseased abortive curs who's mere breath fouled the air that decent folk breathe." I stated with a faint mocking smile. I stepped forward, moving directly in front of the assassin.
"Your pardon Lady Katriana but I would ask that your guards assist me in apprehending this confessed murderer," I asked the patroness of the Inn then I spoke in a loud clear voice to the assassin, "Bowelspawn, by the authority invested in me as Knight Captain of the Golden Lions, dispenser of high and low justice, I order you to surrender now and submit to arrest. We can do this the hard way or the easy way, which is very VERY easy," I said in a hard flat voice staring at Rogar directly, watching for him to make a sudden move. I felt only anticipation of immediate action as time began to slow down as the adrenaline surged in my body.
Somewhere in the background some bard started to play.

OOC: Very nice choice of music.
btw this is the first time I played an insane assassin, what do ya think?
IC: Rogar chuckled, "Just like you, I prefer to hear the accused admit to his crimes, fool of Torm." Rogar pointed at his covered eye, "You do not think that this is for decoration, did you? With this eye, I can see everything, invisible, ethereal, hidden, or illusioned. I saw your articles of faith, and since I prefer to let 'decent' folk live, I decided to give you the benefit of the doubt." Rogar sighed, pinching his nose, "It appears that the whole church of Torm needs pruning, not just the ones who were there, and those who got in my way...Pity. So will this fight just be between the two of us, or will you call upon these 'decent' folk to help you apprehend little old me? In any case..." Rogar slowly drew his sword, To Talwyn it seemed as though there was nothing but a hilt in his hand, but to the people on either side he drew a normal blade, albiet all in black, seemingly a rift in reality more than a blade. The dagger, on the other hand, appeared in a flash. "Tell me, Talwyn do you see a blade on my sword?"

((OOC: Yeah...take it outside, boys!

The atmosphere tensed, and it was as if the hostess herself, the owner of the Inn had gone ignored, which really wasn't wise. As an ex-adventurer and renowned sorceress, Katriana seemed to demand respect, and truth be told she wasn't used to being ignored.
" I'm sorry, but I cannot allow my guards to assist you, Captain. Rules are rules. This..man...has not done anything on the premises of my establishment, so you both are bound by the same laws and rules I put down. If he were to attack one of my patrons, that would be a different, matter, but he has not. If you are to arrest him, then do so outside my walls."[/color:3rr5hg4i] Katriana said, gliding delicately up to the two combatants. Though she appeared only in her late twenties, ages of experience and strength were in her forbidding face and cold voice.
Behind her, several patrons, including Zzadrina and Elenwe, frowned. It seemed not everyone shared her neutral sentiment.
