Raven *Boled repies to you* Very good, see to the crew and the pasengers. Your laspe of duty is of course excused because of the storm. That however is ended as to danger to what we hold dear. I expect a report as soon as posible about the missing and injured. *Indeed knowing the waepons were/are impotant to Raven and that the chance of even surviving the storm were low, there is no comment about weapon slavage. It was evey person for themselves in the heigth of the now slowly abating strom.* I will need to know the able bodied by dawn so that salvage efforts can be made. The aid of these people haved saved many lives, take all the aid they offer for us. *often command requires making a decsion with less then full facta, the decsion right now is to trust these strange creatures, but displine must also be maintained. The crew of 20 and 10 passengers, many that might be dead now are still under his protection and at least the crew still under his orders. The passengers still a duty to deliver them to port they paid for harder to assert a command rule over. If not handled well they might cause problems.*

*With assurance in Raven doing the best he can with current conditions turns his attention to Mara and the aid offered.*

My Lady your food *though noting that a drink was in error* and clothing, the healing I thank you for. Payment will be made to you for all of this. I would ask one thing of you if you can grant it. That I know were all are, some have appeared to disappeared. To healers I trust. I do not know you. have not even hread about you so I do not know your customs or ways. Our customs hold me responsible for everyone that was on the Ship, even those that died. I ask your aid in doing my duty.

The princess nods, and turns to face a soldier that just entered the room, she speaks to him rapidly in their strange tongue, and he responds. She nods and turns to the captain and says,
"I have been told that there are 10 people in the temple, all but one of them should survive their wounds, but one has a severe head injury that even the power of our priests and priestesses have not been able to repair. They fear he will not last much longer. From all accounts 25 people were pulled from those waters.
If you wish to see those in the temple, I can take you, although I fear we shall be quite dampened anew.It is a dual temple, serving both Kelemvore and Tempus, both patron Gods of our people.Although we have a small shrine in the woods devoted to Eilistraee, whom the illythyri here prefer."
She points then to a dark skinned man sitting in the back of the tavern, nursing one of the strange blue drinks these people prefer. He looks similiar to them , with the wings, horns and claws, but his skin is as black as a drows , and so are his wings. He also has a long, barbed tail that swings back and forth . As they watch he looks over at a passing serving woman and grins devilishly.Just as he passes by his chair, he swings the tail up and catches hold of her skirt, throwing it up high enough to reveal the fact that she wears no undergarments.
She shreaks, and whacks him in the back of the head with her tray, before continuing to the bar.
He chuckles and continues drinking.
The princess continues,
"If it assures you any I will tell you something of our people. We are a mixed race, our bloodline containing strains of almost every race in Faerun. Some affectionatley call us the mutts of Faerun. But predominately we are celestial. My mother is the queen here, for a matriarchal people we are.She has 3 consorts, whom I call Father, although only one of them sired me. Because females are so rare here, it is common for the older, more powerful females to take multiple husbands. My mother and my fathers are away on business, leaving me to learn my duty and do their work upon the island.I shall take you to the temple now, and you may reassure yourself about the status of your people.Afterwards, I would like to speak with both you and Stargazer about the business I have in mind."

Raven nods to the captain, [i:25hnm92n][b:25hnm92n]Aye sir. The report will beready for you when you wake in the morning. I'll also go back out to the ship and see what we can salvage for trade here, that way it can help us with financing the repairs.[/b:25hnm92n][/i:25hnm92n]

He then turns his light, but bright, blue eyes back onto the princess. [i:25hnm92n][b:25hnm92n]You said that there were twenty five people pulled from the water. that makes twenty six altogether, incuding me, so we're missing four out of the thirty we started with.[/b:25hnm92n][/i:25hnm92n] He looks back and forth between her and the captain, [i:25hnm92n][b:25hnm92n]Since I have to count noses and take care of finding out who's lost and who's safe, I'll accompany the two of you to the temple.[/b:25hnm92n][/i:25hnm92n]

He then looks over to the dark skinned male that she pointed out and growls deep in his throat, not liking the way he treated the woman, nor the embarassment he just caused her. Shaking his head, he scans the rest of the room, checking over the ones from the ship that were brought here, spotting most of the passengers, and a few more of the crew members. He mentally notes who's there, and who's not, knowing all of them by their faces, if not there names, having talked to everyone while he was awake aboard the ship on the journey that led them to this strange yet wonderful island.

After making his cursory scan he looks back to the captain, [i:25hnm92n][b:25hnm92n]So far captain, six of the passengers and ten crew members aside from you and I are accounted for. Once we visit the temple, and I go to the shrine to pray for the ones that we've lost, I'll bring my full report to you.[/b:25hnm92n][/i:25hnm92n] He then sits back and awaits either their movement to the temple, or for the other two to continue their discussions while he finds a guide to the temple so that he may continue with the unwelcome duty of finding out who survived and who didn't.[/color:25hnm92n]

*Mara, nods at your words. perhaps the loss not that great. Though each lost and the one still in question a concerm.* My Lady the report is better then I expected. I feared much greater loses. *A temple to death offers no attraction at all, too many die. Tempus might indeed recieve some honor though, the battle with the sea won for most, but not with blade. Eilistraee a few follow as well, it appears to be an odd mixed, but the Drow faith not fully understood despite what Raven has explained abut it,* If my Lady permits I would offer a token at the temple for the hopes of the one in danger survives. *notices the oddity of a tail flicking a shirt and the interaction, though one question poses in his mind. Why did not the female wear undergarments as the occurence appears to be rather common considering her reaction. The illythyri clearly have a different version of faith then what little Raven has told about it.-* I think a visit to the woods would not be a good idea as the storm still rimbles. Besides a mon light is perferred if I understand that well. We need to see to the survivors and do what we can, if only making a scarfice and leaving the rest to the hands of the fates. *listens to the further statements about origin and the clam of three fathers.* Indeed My Lady Raven and I are willing to come with us to see the hurt and talk to us more away from here.

*Raven, eyes look to you* I know you like dark and it is dark now, but my friend I will not have you risk your life for what little remains in the ship. If fortune is kind much will wash up on the shore. *odds not all that good, but perhaps much will not wash out of the ship* We will go to the temple and healing hll as My Ldy directed. *Looks to the suvivors in the tavern and points to the bosum* You are in command until we return. Keep the group together we should return soon.

"Then to Tempus it is..for a follower am I,and have needs of making my own devotions."
She finishes her drink with a smack of her lips and stands up to pull her cloak on and around her.
"Fortunately, it is a quick walk from here.Stargazer, in the morning my men will assist you out to the wreckage of your ship. We have some small fishing vessels that can navigate the reefs . But don't plan on any diving expeditions to retrieve anything missing, for a leviathon patrols the waters near here.He has never bothered us, we see him as a beneficial being actually, he keeps the troglodytes away, but no sense in bothering him none the less."
She leads the captain back out into the pouring rain. The winds have subsided but the rain is still coming down in sheets. As they are walking down the cobblestone road, she pushes her cloak out and raises one white wing over the captains head. He is staying completely dry beneath it.
She continues in this fashion until they reach the large double doors of a temple.
Over one door is the lightning bolt symbol of Tempus, over the other is the scales of Kelemvore. She enters the door with the symbol of Tempus and a long hallway, illuminated by torchlight stands before them.
"Interesting bit of magic we have there,if I entered the doorway marked for Kelemvore we would be in an entirely different temple alltogether."
She leads him into the door at the end of the hallway, inside is a large statue of Tempus and several nymaru priests scurry about on their business.
"I will be making my devotions now, that priest over there, Markol is his name, will take you to the wounded."
She points out a nymaru male who is headed over to them, before approaching the statue and kneeling down to pray.

Raven nods his head to the princess at her words about the help, then stands to follow her and the captain to the temple, so that he may continue his stern duty of taking care of the count and finding out who's missing.

The drow pulls his cloak back about him, raising the sowl and pulling it as far forward as he can once they get to the temple, trying as best he can to shield his light sensitive eyes from the torches.

Once inside he awaits the priest coming toward them so that he can finish his duty as well as possible then report all his findings to Captain Boled.[/color:3oa7fjbl]

The storm had been violent, yes, but not as much as she expected... [i:1g9lr1qp]"was the island claiming what's rightfully hers?"[/i:1g9lr1qp] she thought and shrugged.

Anyways, she was there now, appearing to be a human female, with pitch black skin and silky white hair. If it wasn't for the rounded ears anyone could think she was a drow. She came to like this disguise a lot because her colours were the same at least. She was still as beautifull as always.

She had left the island to get a break some years ago and learned navigation with an old captain that died last year, and now she was working as the watch in this ship. She never thought they would actually reach this place and maybe it was safer to stay a little longer in the ship, far from everyone's sight. Maybe she'd go to town later.

So now there she was, trying to recover some things that fell from on board when they reached the beach. Some of the ship's cargo and her personal things and thus she was completely soaked. The chest with her clothes fell too and she already recovered that, but it was also soaked wet, but now she was concerned for the other chest, the one she never told anyone about the one that had her magickal stuff.

As a wizard she had some things like that, of course, and she wanted them back. Her favourite wand was still in her belt and also her telescope. She looked through it and there, in the distance, was something else. Maybe her chest.

With that hope she swam to whatever was floating in the water. [i:1g9lr1qp]"Good luck"[/i:1g9lr1qp] she thought when half an hour later she finally reached it. It was her chest. She managed to swim to the beach, but before reaching it she noticed there was someone watching.

2 Males were looking for something. She could hear some of what they were saying. They were talking about finding the rest of the people that were in the shipwrek.

[i:1g9lr1qp]"Oh, great!"[/i:1g9lr1qp] she thought with pesimism [i:1g9lr1qp]"Now I'll have to wait in the water untill they leave"[/i:1g9lr1qp] so she left the chest floating in the water and hid under the water, behind it leaving only her eyes out, waiting to see if the 2 males finally left. If she wasn't lucky enough they'd smell her scent and she'd be screwed.

The water was cold.

(Note: I couldn't host her image here because I only have her in my space in msn and lost the original link, so if anyone wants to see how my character looks like in human form please visit the following link: Zan'Ibn[/url:1g9lr1qp] I hope the link works. The two males were continuing their conversation,
"The princess said that we have taken as many from the waters as we could, and to go out again would be dangerous. We will be salvaging anything that is left in the morning."
One of the males strides out to the water to collect a chest that is bobbing onto the shore. He scoops it up and shakes it, it is waterlogged and very heavy, but the contents inside are still jingling, so it wasn't soaked through.
"Wander whats in here.."
He says, setting the chest down into the sand and starting to fiddle with the lock.
The other man obviously higher ranking, for they are both soldiers, whacks the man attempting to open the lock across the back of his head.
"Ow...what did you do that for?"
"Don't be an ass, the princess said to leave these peoples belongings alone. After that incident with Malachi we dont need our reputation tarnished any more than it already is.We will take the chest back to the tavern for its owner to claim."
The other soldier rubbed the back of his head and grumbled something about 'what the princess dont know...' before walking away from the beach to the town, carrying the chest.

*Wonders how Mara knew that he intended to make an offer to Tepus, perhaps she is a mind reader of some kind. Follows the pricess from the tavern into the storm and sees the two doors of the temple. The winged shield from the rain apperciated. The comment that going though the other door to a different space not really surprising. During the walk to the temple the discussion about salvage risks does interest him.*

After aay breaks we will see what has been left, a leviathon patrol might make it harder to raise the ship but perhaps we might earn its trust. That the morrow will bring. We do not plan to be a burden to you long.

*On having the priest pointed out to him steps forward to Markol and offers to him his dagger*

A gift from me to your temple, the princess Mara has indicated that you will lead me to those that have been injuried in the shipwreck are in your care, I and my second wish to see them as soon as posible.

*Raven near his side has no concern about him being well, the concern about the hurt most important right now, but getting off the island safely the final goal.*

ooc..sorry were you thinking that part?

Markol nods his head,
"Much thanks to you sir, "
he says, handing the gift to a younger nymaru, obviously an acolyte, who scurries away with it.
"The wounded are this way."
He says, motioning for Stargazer and the captain to follow, leads him to another set of double doors that open into a large infirmary. Most of the people working in here are not priests, but priestesses. The infirmary is sparkling clean, and the priestesses hands are red from scrubbing and their aprons are bleached white with only a few blood spots.
10 of the beds are filled , and 7 of the patients are sitting up, chatting with each other or their nurses. 2 others appear to be sleeping. One of the beds however , has been enclosed with a white sheet, and a priestess is currently exiting it, wiping her hands.
She says something in their strange tongue to Markol, who nods gravely , before turning to say,
"The man in that bed will not last much longer. He is conscious at the moment , and our magicks have dimmed his pain, but have made him groggy .If he has any family or close friends amongst you, they should hurry to make their farewells, for he shall be with Kelemvore by morning. The priestess says there is a vast amount of bleeding inside his skull and she can do nothing about it."

Raven follows along behind the priest Markol and Captain Boled, giving a slightly audible sigh at the sight of most of the rest of the passengers inside, and a few more of the crew. He takes note of the grave look on the females face and hurries over to the bed after Markol makes his statement about the man not lasting past morning, having a sinking feeling in his stomach. He steels himself as he pulls the curtain open just enough to slip behind it and stand out of the way of the other priestesses laboring over the man. A sour look crosses Ravens face as he notes the man that he considered his best friend lying on the bed.

Holding back his tears, he puts on a light expression, no smiles, just trying to make Markos relax a bit more, helping in his own small way to lead his friend into the afterlife. [i:3r8dtzay][b:3r8dtzay]It's been quite a journey my friend, one that has expanded over the two years since I joined with you all upon the ship. You remeber that time when we were attacked by those Waterdavien pirates, how we fought them back?[/b:3r8dtzay][/i:3r8dtzay]

Raven continues on with his recounting of past days, speaking more of the lighter side of things, no ones heroics, and how they just managed to scrape out of a few situations by the skin of their teeth, even when the rest of his visitors stop in Raven continues with his tales, trying to lighten his friends mind and burden as he slips away from them.[/color:3r8dtzay]

OoC: That's quite alright Nedelyne, even the most observent people sometimes overlook things.[/color:3r8dtzay] ;)

As the male gets so dangerously closer to me and lifts the chest that was hiding me I quickly get under the water and pray that he doesn't find me. Thankfully, he doesn't and I stay in the water.
[i:28409a2x]"Hey! He's trying to open my chest! how dares he?[/i:28409a2x] I think angrily to myself. I had been taking boxes and other things that were in the ship out of the water and leaving them in the beach all this time only to see that when I finally take out something that's trully mine someone else taes it away? and not just mine but also precious to me. I almost go out of the water and shout at the men when he tries to open it when I see the other smack him and tell him not to be such a jerk. That makes me a little easy, but is not enough.

[i:28409a2x]"What does the princess doesn't know?"[/i:28409a2x] I think to myself while I silently get out of the water and follow the males, trying to listen to what they're saying about the princess not knowing something, and then I decide I will get my chest back, so I grab my wand tightly behind my back, ready to fight them only if they try any hostile move against me. If they don't then I won't use the wand.

"Hey! That chest's mine... please don't take it, leave it in the sand. I was getting some things from the shipwreck to the beach to come and get them later and left my stuff at the end... Please... just leave it there" I shout in a non hostile tone (shouting because of the distance, not to be hostile), then I look at myself and take mental note that my clothes are soaked wet and that doesn't leave much to imagination, I get ready to run away from the males if they get too... jiggy.

The soldiers carrying the chest stop and turn in sinc.
"Are you alright?"
Asked one of them, in heavily accented common, as he approaches her.He snatches the chest away from his partner , who is obviously reluctant to release it.
He stops a few paces from her and sniffs the air, he looks confused, the water drenching the female seems to mask whatever scent he is trying to catch from her.He approaches again, cautiously, and holds out the chest. He then sniffs her again, up close, and smiles.
He laughs, and speaks to her again in nymarese,
"Little Dark Sister, why do you hide your self? You are safe from prejudice now.Are you here to answer the queens summons?"

*The captain steps over to the bed of the dying man, in part to know which one it is. Not sure that there is any need to call others to say goodbye to him, others are missing and surely dead. Listens to Raven's words and nods his head.* Aye you will rest well and then travel again. Your spirit will bave the waves on your jouney home.

The princess steps into the infirmary, sighting the 2 men standing at the bed side of the dying man, she walks over to them.
"I can see he was a friend, Stargazer, I am very sorry."
She runs a clawed white hand over the form of the dying man and whispers something in another tongue. If either of the men know sylvan, they will recognize it as this.
"If you are finished here, I will take you to the castle, for I wish to speak with you there."
