Can anyone help me with this? I got the idea while playing Icewind Dale II, which runs on 3E rules, not 3.5E.
I'm trying to design a character, but they use neither the two-weapon nor archery style, but at the same time, it'd be more fitting to have them as a ranger than a fighter. At the same time, if I go ranger, what's the point of taking feats that you're not going to use? Would it be feasible to choose from another feat tree (i.e. Combat Expertise) instead of the two regular options? And if it's already been done, can someone link me to it?

thalon to the rescue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i spelise in playing rangers! so i may be the most hepful on this subject(nearly ever cacter iv created was a ranger ) ok so let me get this straight you dont want to use the long range style or the two wepon fighting( i prefer the melee option).
i do belive i saw a few alternate ranger specs but i cant recall where they are at the momnt i belive if you give me some time i will be able to find them or at the very least point you in the right direction. perhaps a ranger that knows a bit more magic (not a druid copycat but something simmler)
