Thanks for the heads up Thalon, i think i was mixing up the clergys a little there.

But yeah, some species of spider eat the male after having had sex, and i wouldn't put it past Lolth to be 'inspired' by that little trait when she made the Driders.

Add to that the views female Drow have of males, and i can imagine Drider society never really getting off the ground. Never a shortage of new entries though, thanks to Lolth ^^;

And this is why you will never see someone going to say "Hey I wanna be a drider!" Unless they are of course willing to go through hell and/or messed in the head.
