When you want to ask out of character questions, discuss plots, talk about roleplaying or simply present your character’s bio, this is the place to do so. Small OOC bits may be accepted in the roleplaying forums, but this is the place for the larger posts. Do keep the topics related to the roleplaying however, otherwise go to the General Discussion forum.

Well the Houses have not been clearly defined as I persented, however if you want to be a trading House I am sure that can be worked out.

I offered examples, it might be House 3 that is mostly mining House.

Part of sorting out what the Houses might control depends on the lay of the land.

How extensive the acid sea is, what food growing is posible, how much mining can be done, etc.

I said House 3 might be the trading House, not that it would be the trading House. In general all Houses will be involved in trade, mining, ship building and farming. The basic concept would be that each House would stand out as number one in such trade craft.
One House might have control of region of the best mining areas, this does not prevent others from mining for ores, just they find less per ton.

A House might control the docks, perventing large ships from leaving. Control of boats might be imposible for any House.

While Draven slaves might be te best at building glass boats to traval an acid sea, no one House would have all of them, one House might have most of the best skilled ones.

No Drow House, Lolthian or any other, would not simply allow one House to be the sole provider of a needed resource. Just some Houses will be advantaged in resource / ability to be better at one thing compared to another.

Yes, that is why there is more than one House. Drow tend to be envious of each other in higher stations, hence the plotting one House's assassinations so that they may move up in station.

Ok, I have tomorrow off from work and plan to get that opening post out then. It will begin casually with the destruction of a lessor house. All nobels are expected to attend. Please take your time about posting if you must, we all still have yet to organize the structure of the rp. This post will give us time to get comfortable in discovering the identity of our characters and the roles they seek to play.[/color:36yu6emr]
One more question; You want me to take a House 4 or not?[/quote:yi8j06wu]
Ok, [b:yi8j06wu]Rooks[/b:yi8j06wu]. You control House 4 and will also raise Balra there.

[b:yi8j06wu]Qhell~Velladorn [/b:yi8j06wu]would like to play House slaves.

I believe [b:yi8j06wu]Nedylene[/b:yi8j06wu] would like her own House or did you mean to be outside of a House with a privatly owned business?

[b:yi8j06wu]Ty[/b:yi8j06wu] is an old Drow who's an undercover Eilstraeean who will be part of the House SS grows up with.

[b:yi8j06wu]BQ[/b:yi8j06wu] offers up Priestess (maybe Matron) of 3rd House seeking in part to get 1st and 2nd distroy each other and play a few males as well.

[b:yi8j06wu]Unen_Stealthfoot[/b:yi8j06wu] is believed father of SS, a follower of Vhaeraun and member of [b:yi8j06wu]Velve[/b:yi8j06wu]'s House 2.

[b:yi8j06wu]Any objections?[/b:yi8j06wu] Let us again consider and correct me where I am wrong...[/color:yi8j06wu]
Each House should be run by one player.

This does not mean other Houses will not have spies or agents in other Houses. What it is though is one needs to justify a high ranking spy. A slave spy is not a problem, you can not trust a slave anyway.

Right now I propose that we decide which Houses we will set up we are talking 3 or prehaps 4 Houses on council of this smaller city.

SS should run a House.
Velve and I have offered to run a House. Anybody else out there?

I propose that no House has over 1,000 Drow, which could include an aditional 2 times in number slaves (some armed forces some not). That the least House present their outline on numbers, businesses and forcus. Then the next lowest major House having a little more power in at least numbers or section of city controled directly of indirectly and so on.

Once all the major Houses are proposed each player must justify to the other player how their spy(s) got in and how much rank they have. This can be done openly or via PM as to how high a spy might get. Of course in a matter of time the spy might be discovered, however that should not be based on OOC or meta-game knowledge.
The other component of any Drow city are the Insitutes of Education, leadership of them in theory are Independent of the House they grew up in, but in pratice the leaders will deferr when posible to their House desire (OK perhaps except for the Wizards that might hate their House and defer to another in revenge *wink*).

We know the 1st House Security was breeched to steal the children, an indication of the city Houses were not all that security minded at this time. Each House needs to have flaws in someway, perhaps just spies, but could be other factors as well.[/quote:yi8j06wu]
Lilith is a female illithyri, her father was slain by the drow when she was a baby and she was taken in and raised by the priestesses of Lolth.Though I played her as a priestess, im thinking about not doing so in this game, on the grounds that I am lazy.
She has a very lucrative career as a slave trader, specializing in .. uh.hummm...pleasure slaves, for the noble ladies and the men of the line, and provides the Church of Lolth with many of their sacrifice victims.
She is VERY good at breaking in even the most troublesome of slaves, partially because of the large whip and flail she carries at all times, and partially because of her earthshattering beauty.
Even with the horns , wings and wicked long barbed tail, her face and form are perfect and she carries herself with a liquid grace that makes all heads turn to look at her. She fine, and she knows it....( were talking ranked out in charisma) .
But not only is she a business woman, but she is also a skilled player in the political game, painstakingly placing her well trained and very loyal slaves in almost every noble drow house, she has access to information on every family .
If someone makes her angry she is also very skilled in the use of poisons that she can let slip into the hands of her slaves. Lilith almost never bothers to get her hands dirty, not when she so rarely has to.[/quote:yi8j06wu]
Ok so I'm hugely ripping off Solaufein but hey, I don't know much about Drow.

Yup, my guy's public profile/reputation is a highly skilled killer who can reach people almost anywhere and terminate them coldly and cleanly without consience or remorse (even by drow standards). But secretly he is a worshipper of Eilistraee and hides the fact well, few have found out his secret, and they have all perished quickly and quietly, often seemingly by accident. He is also tries to tutor slaves, castaways and the homesless or dispossesed in the ways of the Lady and smuggles them to the surface during raids. He knows he runs a grave risk but he deems it a more worthy cause with every life he saves, but he feels each failure more bitterly asthe last, often he has to kill those he tries to save before they betray him to the Matrons in return for favour.[/quote:yi8j06wu]
If its alright, the main character I have been thinking up would be, as I said, a male fighter, named Val'fryn (Means something along the lines of Dark Champion). His mother was the weapon master (Or should that be weapon mistress?) of the house, I know female house weapon masters would be rare, but I don't think they are outlawed, yet she was recently assassinated. His father was a simple wizard, executed many decades ago for being a Vhaeraunite.

I have always liked the drow house name Auvry'ana (Meaning Blood of the Night.) so if its alright can that house be called that?

Him and a few other males - two of which are his brothers - of the house are combating for favor of the matron, so that they may become the new weapons master of the house. One of his two sisters was recently assasinated by the other.
He is known for his skills with a two bladed sword, his ability to remain calm in any situation and his knack for strategy on a battlefield, as he proved in a recent surface raid.

Slightly taller than the average Drow male, he is little over one hundred in years. His eyes are an unusual silver, his hair the same colour is little over shoulder-length, usualy worn tied back simply. His build is muscular, yet with the wry grace common of all elves. Of late he moves with a pronounced limp, a result of a well placed arrow from his recent surface raid and the Matron's orders that he not be healed for it, her reasons for the order unknown.
[/quote:yi8j06wu]
Maybe my Vhaeraunite (is that right spelling?) could be Ssin's father, weapon master of house 2. If he were a follower of Vhaeraun, he would have been promoting his (and therefore, Vhaeraun's) bid for power in the drow hiarchy by having an affair with matron of first house. Which whould then produce Ssin's PC.[/quote:yi8j06wu]
Alright, I came up with something....

Balra, Drow Female
Height: 5"11 inches
Weight: 94. lb

Eyes: Blood Red
Hair: Snow-white
Skin: Jet-black

Apperance: Ussualy appears in plain noble-child's clothing.
Temperament: Calm, insulting, sarcastic, ironic, bitch in all ways, pure evil, soft side for twin sister.

Stats as grown up (unless sacrifficed):

Str: 11
Dex: 18
Con: 8
Int: 16
Wis: 16
Cha: 13

Streea, if she was my "baby" Jehova's Witness that's knocking at my door right now, would be cursing my lineage for her being my lesbian sex slave.[/quote:yi8j06wu]

So..you are going to play her as a lesbian?[/color:yi8j06wu] :))

Well considering she is not [i:2qq9jape]technically[/i:2qq9jape] a drow I think she is probably working outside a house, with a private business, considering she works with all the houses.

Excellent!

Lastly, when posting in the [b:3ie9v54a]~Tlethtyrr~[/b:3ie9v54a] roleplaying thread, be sure to state in the [i:3ie9v54a]"Subject"[/i:3ie9v54a] bar of the posting page, where your characters in play are if they are not with the rest of us so that we may know.

Please refrain from posting OOC in the actual roleplay thread. [b:3ie9v54a]Only[/b:3ie9v54a] post OOC here. ;)

Let play begin after I have set the scene in the second post of [b:3ie9v54a]~Tlethtyrr~[/b:3ie9v54a] Be sure you know [i:3ie9v54a]who [/i:3ie9v54a]you are and which [i:3ie9v54a]House[/i:3ie9v54a] you belong to before getting started.[/color:3ie9v54a] :)
