I was always a little bit uneasy about that little episode, honestly...I always thought that summoned entities winked out while in/exposed to anti-magic fields....Though it's possible the voidstone, being an object of magic itself, works in a slightly different manner. But then again, I thought voidstones were congealed negative energy that had other harmful side-effects..Meh. That's why it was a surprise, I'd guess.
