Hi there and welcome to our little corner of the web.
Don't worry about Neverwinter Nights; we're not based nearly as much as you might think. In fact, I think most people here don't play either game (NWN1 or NWN2) anymore and even when people did it was rarely any organized thing from this site (I'm still working on NWN2 server for people who can/do want to play that, but that's a fair ways off and probably wouldn't change anything for the site here anyway).
There's a fair bit of roleplaying going on in the roleplaying forums and for that you indeed need to be able to do little more than just type. It might help to have some background on the setting and drow in particular, but people are more than willing to help with that and with cleverly selected characters you might get a long way even without knowing much at all.
So yes, I'd definitely say you're wanted.
As such, be welcome and may you find a home of sorts here.

P.s And Orinoco Flow is a nice song, though I like a number of Enya's other songs better.
