Shocked to the broken statement Quin stops and looks to him not realizing herself she felt sorry for him... as she takes a step back for she knew what he was in the middle of saying before he broke it off... 'his love'. Angered at herself for even bringing up the topic all she could do was keep her thoughts to herself.

Quin started to reach out and to say she was sorry, but how can you say sorry for something of that scale. She put her hands back to her side and cast her eyes to the ground for she felt it was her fault that brought back those painful memories. The whole moment she could not say one word, not even to be forgiven for not thinking. She know knew and understood Lolth with out getting into detail. She took another step back and Lightning stopped her, he knew she was trying to get away from the crowd once again.

Malek looks back and thanks Lightning. "We still have a feast to go to, my dear." He smiles, and tells her about his lover. They were mere children, barely 60 years old. Then, while she was away, learning about the druidic way of life, the drow descended on her. When she didn't come back, he went looking for her. "What I found, was horrible." He makes a gesture that plainly says 'enough' and looks at Maya. "I'm deeply sorry. In reference to your question, however, yes, Eilistraee is a drow goddess. She is a member of the Dark Seraldine. I don't know how to explain how different she is from Lolth, but from my great-grandfather's journals, I know that they are complete opposites. For example, Eilistraee would never have demanded your father's sacrifice." Malek shakes his head again. "Now is not the time for religious debate. Melari is probably very worried about me. Let's go." He smiles, for he is truly happy right now, though the memories of Kiela's death are painful.

Still unable to say one word, she tries to smile but failed miserably. She started walking again but fell behind everyone even Lightning. Quin needed to get her thoughts on what she wanted to do, she has already made many friends, even another drow, at least to her.

Lightning noticed Quin in deep thought and fell back some to be at her side as he nudged her in the arm. She gave him a pat on his nose but did not look at him and he understood as he stayed quiet as they walked towards Malek's home. With out warning she leaped to a branch in an old tree. She noticed smoke coming at least two miles into the woods. Quin realized they had to be close to his home. Something she had lost just days a go, and she frowned as she jumps down and continues on their way.

- "Well... Techincally, surface raids are more Vhaerun's territory as well, though since Lolth is the major deity i can understand where the misunderstanding came from. There's also the Blooding, but that's a drow custom and not really a specific deity's terrain as far as i know." ^^;

The smile returned, though it was still a bit hesitant. She was glad Malek had apologised, and decided not to press the matter further, given that it turned out to be a subject that touched old wounds. Though she made a mental note to ask about Eilistraee a bit more at a later date. Speaking of which...

- "Umm... Malek, would it be safe for Circe where you live? I mean, with you being afraid of spiders and everything, and i don't want to leave her alone either..." <.<;;

Malek shudders, remembering the huge spider. "Yes it should be safe. Just make sure she's not living on my ceiling or in my private quarters. I should be able to keep my kin from attacking her. She's not aggressive, is she?"

Maya grinned, shaking her head in response to Malek's question.

- "Only if she thinks i'm in danger, but i'd do the same for her. Don't worry though, her bite isn't poisonous, it just immobilizes you for a short while so i can get away."

Circe chittered, rubbing her head against the palm of the young Drow's hand. Had she been anything but a spider, it'd have given people the impression the large spider was nuzzling it.

Malek walked the rest of the way in relative silence, occasionally chatting nonchalantly. When they get to the citadel, they realize that that was an understatement. A cluster of very large trees had been hollowed out so that they now housed an elven palace. Smoke rises from a branch that had been hollowed out to be a chimney. Athariel comes through the main entrance when he sees Malek, "How did I know you were going to bring guests?" Malek grins as he makes introductions. Athariel nods at each of the guests, "Melari has just finished making the feast that she knew we'd need if we left you alone with strangers. Also, I heard strange noises in the cellar. I sealed the door with a spell, so only you can open it now. I thought we'd look into it after dinner." Malek nods his assent, "Welcome, friends, to my family's mansion." Athariel shakes his head, "Malek, it's yours and you know it. By blood and by deed, it's yours." Malek looks very uncomfortable as they all enter the building while Athariel tells them that Malek retook the palace singlehandedly. Malek is at a loss for words when he tries to argue with Athariel.

Looking at the structures of the buildings, Quin's eyes widen and smiled to the thought of calling Malek lord. Not saying a word she gestures to the others and curtsied to Malek and to Athariel as they are both nobles as Melari.

Quin then looked to herself as she was not dressed to be in the presence of this family, and felt a little blushed for excepting his invitation. She said, "Please excuse me as I put Lightning in the stables and feed him. Don't wait for me I may be a bit to make sure he is settled." Quin knew he would be fine, but she was not and had lost her appetite as they had arrived. Mixed thoughts going through her mind was aggravating to her and she needed to clear her mind.

She turns and starts to lead Lighting to the stables...

*groans* if this is what the gate guards are like i cant wait to meet the rest of the family...you guys do have a library right(insert hopeful expression) i mean someone in the family must like reading...i hope.

Maya looked at the palace in wonder. Where she had been expecting the same dull stone from the Underdark, it instead looked like it was part of the forest, and had simply grown in place. She was brought back from her thoughts as she heard her name, but later realised that Malek was simply introducing her to another elf. She gave him a friendly, semi-embarrassed bow, before waiting until Malek was done.

As Quin started to leave with Lightning, the young Drow took a few steps toward Malek, trying to inconspicuously nudge him in the side. After she had made certain she got his attention, she whispered something, trying very hard not to let the other elves overhear.

- "Umm... Malek? I can't really tell the difference between trees and buildings here... Can you point Circe to a real tree please? Just in case she accidentally climbs into someone's bedroom window." ^^;

Malek smiles at Quin, "Alright, just don't run off on me again. Ok?" Malek turns to Nathan when he comments about Athariel. "He's not a gate guard, he's my cousin. There's only me, him, and my sister here right now." Malek feels a nudge in his side and turns to see Maya. He listens intently to her question. 'Wow, she is quiet,' he thought. Then in response, "Of course. Hmm..." It takes him a moment because he hasn't been here that long, "That one's just a tree. Or it's Athariel's room." He laughs, indicating that he was joking. "Oh, Athariel, I should warn you. Maya, here, has a pet spider following her around. It's going to sleep in a tree tonight, but don't harm it if you see it." Malek then motions his guests into a grand hallway. At the far end there are some chairs that are raised on pedestals, indicating that this is, and in Malek's mind, was, the throne room.

Quin gave a weak smile and gave Malek a nod as she walked Lightning to the stables. It was a beautiful place she thought to herself and wondered what it would be like to be a lady of this magnificent palace. Once the two made it to the near empty stables, Quin found the first stall empty and unused. She found some bedding and laid it out for Lightning. He came up behind her just as she was finishing his bed and gave her a nudge. Lightning could feel she was still uneasy bout being around so many and wanted her to relax.

Quin turned and smiled and gave him a big hug and did not want to let go of him. He just wrapped his wings around her to let her know she is with friends and he trusts them. A tear ran down her cheek as she backed away and let him in the stall. There was no need to close it for he would wait there for her in the morning.

Quin walked out and grabbed two buckets, one for food and the other for water. She picked up the first one and walked out to the well to get fresh water for him. As she did she could hear the animals in the surrounding part of the forest and she smiled remembering the good old days. Then when she returned to the stall, she placed the water in it and grabbed the empty one and got some grain. Quin filled with extra feed for him.

Lightning started to eat and Quin started to brush him and care for his hooves. Once she started to do so she sang a song like when he was just a colt. It was the one song she knew that her mother sang to her when she was just a baby. Once Lightning was done eating and she was done brushing him, he laid down and she curled up him still singing the same song. She sang her self to sleep leaning up against Lightning, and he laid his wing protectively over her to keep her warm as he closed his eyes.

Maya nodded, before crouching down next to Circe, and whispering something to her. Circe appeared to nod, then started to crawl up the tree with visible enthousiasm. Once up near the top, she'd build a web from which to oversee the surrounding area a bit better. As she went up, Maya winked at Malek.

- "I told her to keep a lookout in case of trouble. That, and she seems to like the view from high up."

She'd then look around the plaace a bit, though unfamiliarity and general caution made her check never to stray too far away from the moon elf, just in case.

IC: *sigh* sorry about that mistake good sir you don't seem so bad i hope your sister is a bit more cheerful than you though after all malek seems to be the only one here without a good sense of humor XD now if someone would be so kind as to point me to the library then the dining hall i'll not trouble anyone further... at least i'll try not to...if you hear loud explosions from the library don't blame me ok?

Malek looks at Nathan...O_O. "Aren't you going to join us for the feast? It's up to you of course, but I would love it if you would join us. The library is down that hall on the right. I don't know how many books are left, but be careful with them." He begins to walk to the left, following a particularly delectable aroma. Athariel nods to Nathan, "Don't mind him. My lord can lose all sense of humor at times. Especially if he just fell in love. It'll return by morning." He nods at Maya, and follows Malek into the dining hall.
