Debated on if this belonged below, however is only announce plans.
James Wyatt wrote an article about 4th deities. It should be noted that there were other posts in the past about getting rid of deities.
IAE it appears Corellon will survive and become the God of Magic, worshiped by elves, eladrin (new fancy term for some elf sub races), humans and a few magic inclined drawves.
All in all, hold on to your seats on how they will be changing because it appears things will be changing much.

That's not a Forgotten Realms article (in fact, it specifically names borrowing the names of Forgotten Realms deities). As such everything they do there has no relevance whatsoever to the Forgotten Realms setting.
In the 'general' setting I think Corellon Larethian has always been a god of magic for the elves, so not really a surprise there. That said I'm fairly certain he'll also remain in the Forgotten Realms and will probably get a more prominent role for the elves (if they're really culling the deities then I doubt most of the elf deities will survive either).
It's a shame really, since having a large number of deities is part of what made the Forgotten Realms special. Now it looks like it'll just become another fantasy setting. Bah.

In 3.5 edition Eladrin were a sub-species of celdsial along with angels and guardinals. They were ruled from the Court of Stars by two people who were suspiciously elf-like.

I wouldn't acctually mind if Corellon got moved from the scene...friggin' pansie...
If the locals around here saw him manifest himself with all his make-up on him, or turning from woman to a man, be he a god or not, he wouldn't be so willing ot get up in the morning...
Pansie...
And yes, less gods in FR means less cursing... But seriously, if they put less gods in, it really is just one more fantasy setting.
