"Dragon, ha." Frad turned to Biot. "Sorry ta ask, but how much treasure was there by this nest o' yours, how hard was it ta find an' how dangerous was it fer ya ta raid?" He looked back to Lyon, pausing for some moments. "Anythin' other than 'lots,' 'very' and 'extremely' ta answer those questions means it's not a dragon an' ta none of 'em means it were too dumb ta protect its' own offspring."

" Pdwn would you be able to cleans the eggs of our scent? " Cinder asked. " If it is only one parent then she would have had to go feed herslf, there is any number of resons why she or they left and could be chassing somthing away at this moment and feeding on it for that mater, and could return any time. If they are to be returned it has to be now, I for one do not want to be cooking her offspring when she returns ." Cinder said.
" I think Adain has made a dission on the matter friend Frad the debate is over "

Adian was about to say something when his head snapped around in response to a horrible, animalistic shriek that echoed through the forest.
"I think our answer is about to make itself known," Adian said. "Everyone get everything under the cover of the trees! Now!"
What a morning this was turning out to be.
A distance away the owner of the voice shot into the air...a great bird of blue and white, with ice all along its back and crowning its head, and crystals forming in its wake from the cold.

((That pretty much is Articuno. Still, that's awesome. XD))
Lyon looked at the creature approaching, and frad looked from it to Lyon, who grinned at Frad and sent him off at a run. Pwdn simply watched from within her robes and winter coat as the gloriously scintillating bird swooped ever closer. "So beautiful, it's. . . glorious."
((Just wondering, what level do Paladins get to have their own personal mount?))

(4th, as I recall. 5th at most. Adian's not quite there yet.)
"I certainly hope so," Adain said, ducking behind a tree. His bastard sword, a heavy, powerful weapon against men and man-sized threats, now felt utterly useless against the huge bird...elemental...whatever it was. The last time he'd been this helpless he'd been staring down a Shadow Dragon...and then there was a reasonable certainty the creature had been benevolent. This creature was a complete unknown.
Nevertheless, if the thing attacked he would do what he had to.
"Leave the eggs!" Adian said. "Let her have them! Pdwn! Get away from there!"
The huge bird, with a wingspan eighteen feet across, landed before the girl. It flared its great wings and shrieked at her...a warning and a ferocious demand. She could feel the cold of its body and its breath seemed to freeze the air.
But it did not attack. Not yet.

Cinder quickly sprinked 2 of her arrows with a powder and aimed one at the great bird.
In seconds there were 2 arrows in the bird " the powder weaked her. " She will be very drowsy in a few minites, we have about 20 mins before it wares off. " she said " I suggest get as far as we can from her, the wounds will be very miner. "

Biot stood alongside the eggs looking into the eyes of the giant creature as 2 arrows hit it. The creature gave Biot a sad look with tears of ice falling to the ground as it began to dose off. It didn't seem that the creature meant them any harm, even though they wanted to eat its eggs.
Biot caught its head as it came down setting it softly on the ground. He then softly pulled out the arrows stuck in its leg. "I,'m sorry" he said to it softly. "I thought the eggs were abandoned because they were so cold and when I held it up against the sun I could see that there was nothing inside. So I thought it was ok to take them. I'll take them back if you'll let me?" Biot asked the creature.
Biot then softly but the eggs underneath the creature.

Cinder brought over to the bird one of the left over mushroom loaves and placed her hand on her friends shoulder as he knelt by the bird " She will be ok Biot, lets leave her to tend her off spring in peace. We need to put distance between her and us and there is not allot of time to do so. It is best not not take chances with a mother if her off spring are in perceived danger. "
" Biot ride on Meldrin he know's you ok, we need to move as fast as we can. May I ride with you Adain? I don't take up to much room. "

"I don't think she means us harm Cinder. I'm going to take the eggs back to her nest. Its only about 5 minutes away if I move fast. Everybody go and I will catch up to you." Biot said as he grabbed the eggs and headed of into the forest.
Biot reached the tree where the nest was. He climbed up as fast as he could, being careful not to drop the eggs. He put the eggs back onto the nest, making sure they won't fall off. As he climbed down he could hear the call of the mother come closer. He saw as she went to sit on the nest as he moved in the direction of his friends.

Pwdn had watched the proceedings with some concern, but the way the beautiful creature had been cared for was more than she'd hoped. In all honestly, she'd been transfixed by the creature's beauty, and watched it all the while with abject fascination. Lyon, noting this, wandered over from hanging Frad from a branch following threats to feed him to the creature. Frad, of course, was still dangling there. "A relation?" Pwdn tinted pink somewhat and shook her head. "None at all, just so beautiful." "Jealous?" "Of that? How could I possibly resent anything so wonderful?" "Then what?" Pwdn shrugged slowly, and shook her head. "Just. . . I don't know, maybe some remnants of vanity, and wishing I had the chance to be beautiful too." Lyon chuckled, and tugged on her. "Do I need to hang you up next to Frad? Firstly, you're already beautiful. Secondly, you could have the face of a bone devil and you would still command the adoration of those you met because your beauty goes so much deeper than just your appearance." Pwdn tinted rouge now, but as she tried to protest the compliment she found herself hoisted up and hung from the low branch next to Frad who she looked at in shock. "W-what just happened?" Frad grinned. "Ya ignored the threat, lass. He said he's 'ave ya up by me and ya didn't listen." She wriggled to try and get free, but her clothing was stuck fast and there was a deep snowdrift below her. "I've just been put on time out!" "Yup." "Extraordinary."
Pwdn dangled there, accepting the penalty with good grace. "What about you, why are you up here Frad?" Frad considered her question, and realised he didn't even know if she knew about men and women and such, being a. . . well, whatever she was, and so he explained the principal of it. "Abusin' the rights of bein' his best friend for his own good. Basically, stickin' my shovel in where it din't belong." "Oh."
With the command to move out, Lyon returned. "You do realise, Frad, this is the least of the repurcussions?" Frad raised his fist, and with a defiant voice, called out "Yeh'll never take me alive, lawman!" His accent was gleaned from cutpurses and smalltime punks the realm over, and as with them his bravado would not aid him at all. To Pwdn Lyon was kinder. "Repeat after me: 'I am a beautiful woman and will not be so silly in future.'" Pwdn shook her head, not feeling she could. "If you don't, I'll just keep on at you until you do."
Pwdn, looking at the others with embarrassment, mumbled something inaudible for Lyon and was let down. Frad was let down too, and considered the possibility of escalation. "Ya know Lyon, if ya want ta prove it, just describe 'er beauty so she can understand it. Maybe write 'er a sonnet, paint 'er a picture." His grin widened. In for a penny, in for a pound. "Draw 'er a diagram." He was fed a mouthful of snow in response, but he'd made his declaration. This was not a small skirmish any more. This was WAR!
