Lyon moved sleepily to help Frad pack, Pwdn helping them and the others as needed, and occasionally returning to the patch of luminous blue-green mold to enjoy the colours it produced. "I remember I once found a whole cave strewn with all different colours of mold and all of them shimmering like stars. I thought it's what the sky would look like."

Zarae slipped the extra clothing on and walked outside into the bright light. She packed Moonlights blanket into her pack and hopped up on his back.
Argo, the riderless horse for now, walked beside Phenix and they came over to be fed, followed by Raven.
"looks like a clear, even if cold day. we should get far, assuming nothing comes after us.
--
the group neared the town of Bitterleaf. this time they were more cautious, taking care to disguise themselves before exploring the town.
"here," one called pointing to the billboard. "lets go see this priest then," the another said.
"after we visit around first. this place is too peaceful. they need a little chaos," she said with a wicked glee in her rose orbs.

(yall can say stuff as the camp. this just after everyones done)
after everyone was done. they were heading north again. the sun thankfully to their side as oposed to their front.
the trees grew thinner, even the evergreens and more frozen ponds were around.
they made good time. as the wind was less. but the cold was the same, despite the morning sun warming up the day.
the horses then became antsy suddenly. they smelled something ahead.
(next can decide. can be good or badguy. be creative!)

Pwdn remained quiet during the ride, she was really beginning to feel the cold now and though it wasn't yet dangerous to her, it wasn't a pleasant sensation. Phenix's worried snorts stirred her from her drifting reverie however, and with the sudden movement Lyon looked back and smiled. "Welcome back." The sight ahead was a strange one, the trees gave way to deep snow, and in amongst this was the scene of a skirmish between two distinct groups. One group in maille armour carried spears, and a single man among them that they seemed to be defending carried a staff that he was raising skywards, his mouth open as if shouting. The other group wore full or partial plate and carried longswords and heater shields, they were seemingly charging the other group. All of the figures were made of stone, and in detail beyond what could be carved by all but the most masterful of masons.
Frad was the first to speak, blurting out the fist thing that came to mind. "Poor sod miscast."

Veraka continued to smile at the idea of Frad trying to poison his food; it had been a very long time since he'd had a good laugh, a VERY long time. He continued onward with the group in the direction that they proceeded, the snow continuing to get in his way, but he plowed through just the same.
Eventually, Veraka noted the the riderless horse that was walking along, still without really doing anything. Though he didn't mind trudging through the freezing snow and ice, he was trained in barbarian culture and tradition after all, the paladin-trained aasimar made a mental note to eventually inquire about taking up a ride on the horse.
It was what made the horses start getting nervous that made Veraka give a curious expression at the scene that unfolded before him. Stone-carved figures, human in size, were duking it out with one another.
Hearing the dwarf's comment, he threw in one of his own; "looks like a wizard had a little to much time on their hands."

Zarae watched in facination and curosity. "since when do wizards not have enough things to do?" she said, before realizing she said it aloud.
they edged closer, and Moonlight looked at her then back at the scene. "well, now what?"

"Or too little, if he managed to botch the spell." Pwdn dismounted, and walked in amongst the fighters. "We have to help them. Whatever they were fighting about, it's not worth this." Lyon followed her in silent agreement to stand between the two opposing sides, facing the other way back-to-back with her. "You know, they might not want to stop fighting." Pwdn half-turned to look back at him, but realised that he was joking. He had his sword drawn, and held it turned to defend. He'd already guessed that she was going to disarm them if she had to.
Frad however was waiting a ways back. "I don't like this. Magic and all." He glanced about suddenly, in case the wizard was around. "Just don't like what I can't trust me own eyes with."

Veraka nodded in Pwdn's direction, drawing Marala Vharc from it's sheath on his back. "Well whatever we're gonna do, we better do it quickly," he said, bringing his shield up in a ready stance.
The aasimar noted the dwarf's reaction; "Frad, one thing my weapon master instructor taught me; if you can't trust your eyes to see your enemy, trust in your instinct to know where he attacks from, and in your weapon to kill him when he does."
Turning to Lyon; "Well mate, care to play the distraction with me while Pwdn does her job?"

"Perhaps if we were to move them...so they were not facing one another or something before we help them?" Adian suggested.
Despite his suggestion, he was reluctant to touch the statues...as though by touching them he risked being turned to stone himself.
What would that be like? Would he be aware?
The thought was chilling.

Cinder had fallen behind preoccupied with the usual flock of birds that seemed to be about.
They were a snowy white with long opal like collared tails that seemed to glisten in the light as the sun that shown throw the trees.
She did not were her silk band around her eyes the sun was not bright enough and when it was it was not directly in front as they were traveling north.
she studied the birds with her natural curiosity of all things about the forest they seemed to be feeding on orange berries that grow at the tops of some of the trees. She wondered if they would be tasty hmm she thought melding her thoughts with Mildrinus. he seemed to remember the teacher hunting them at some point back in an earlier journey some years back. " Oh yes " now i recall " they were tasty in deed " she wondered if Adian would enjoy a hunt, but she did not remember if he had a bow or not they defiantly needed a bow to reach them they were quite high up. She opened her mind and sent forth her thoughts to him he was not riding that far ahead he would not hear her. "they would make a nice lunch for us and there are plenty " she said quite loudly trying not to shout in to his mind. " we would not have to kill them all only a third or so ". her thoughts focused. "oh do you have a bow they are quite high in the tree's "

Wile she sent out her thoughts she felt a strange vibration a short distance from the group.
Suddenly she could hear the thoughts of the bird. Luckily they did not know hers she thought.
" I wonder if the ones that have come will free them " one said " they have been there for some time now " another said in his mind wile churpping musically.
That was strange i have not herd birds talk before she thought, she squinted her eyes and rubbed her chin. there is some strange magic in this part of the forest.
