I'e just finished watching the movie "Prince Caspian" and this song at the end really hooked me in. Great film, much better than the first one.

This song is quite Eilistraeen I think.

Yes it is. It's quite beautiful too. Who's singing? I can't recall who the voice belongs to though it's familiar.

[quote="Talwyn Aureliano":ljmi5bik]I'e just finished watching the movie "Prince Caspian" and this song at the end really hooked me in. Great film, much better than the first one.

This song is quite Eilistraeen I think.[/quote:ljmi5bik]
Originally, when I gave myself the title “Mistress of Song”, my purpose was to take certain songs and give an Eilistraeen explanation to the text. Thought I might as well start with that beautiful song Talwyn just posted (called “The Call” by “Regina Spektor”).

And yes, I completely made this up. But when I keep Eilistraee in mind when listening to the lyrics this is how they ring to me.

[i:ljmi5bik]It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word[/i:ljmi5bik]

It started with a feeling of desiring for redemption and then this feeling, this desire, turned into a hope. But the hope was still too fragile to voice and thus remained a thought at first. Until, perhaps by those with the same thought finding each other or by a certain degree of bravery, this thought was whispered and passed on.

[i:ljmi5bik]And then that word grew louder and louder
Til it was a battle cry[/i:ljmi5bik]

And thus Eilistraee’s faith secretly, but steadily, grew and spread. Until it turned into a religion to battle the evil of the drow and fight for redemption of our kind. This is how our religion came to be; from a fleeting feeling steadily and quietly growing into a song.

[i:ljmi5bik]I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye[/i:ljmi5bik]

So it was and so it will be again. It might seem that “I” (Eilistraee) is gone, but she will be always here for you to call her back. Don’t say goodbye, as she is still here, waiting for you.

[i:ljmi5bik]Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never
Been this way before[/i:ljmi5bik]

The world might seem different now and it might feel like things will never be the same again. But it has been like this before; Eilistraee wasn’t always around and it was this feeling growing into a hope, growing into a thought, growing into a word and finally a song that gave rise to her. We are at that place again, in between the beats of the song. Things always come around again.

[i:ljmi5bik]All you can do is try to know
Who your friends are
As you head off to the war[/i:ljmi5bik]

Don’t stop the fight, don’t stop the dance. Stay with your friends who share in your feelings, who share in your dreams and hopes and stand to fight together. Stand to keep the hope alive together.

[i:ljmi5bik]Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light[/i:ljmi5bik]

Even if there might be no moonlight to guide you then there are always the stars. Don’t despair and see only the darkness, but notice the little points of light on the horizon and follow those.

[i:ljmi5bik]You'll come back
When it's over
No need to say good bye
(x2)[/i:ljmi5bik]

When you found the light in the darkness, you will be back to share it with the rest. So don’t worry about wandering off in your search; you know that there is always a place for you here to return to. No need to say goodbye as we’ll always be here for you.

[i:ljmi5bik]Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget[/i:ljmi5bik]

We are back at the beginning, back when Eilistraee’s faith wasn’t well known and wasn’t that strong. Back when people didn’t really understand the feeling of redemption. But simply because they don’t understand it yet, simply because they don’t feel Eilistraee in their hearts yet, doesn’t mean that you should let go. Keep Eilistraee always in your heart and she will always survive.

[i:ljmi5bik]Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
Til they're before your eyes[/i:ljmi5bik]

Remember, foster your feelings, let them grow and thrive within you. That way you will automatically carry them out and they will become more than you. Hold Eilistraee within you and nourish those feelings.

[i:ljmi5bik]You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say good bye
(x2)[/i:ljmi5bik]

Hold her within you and sooner or later they will realize and re-discover her. And at that time they will call you back to guide them, to show them Eilistraee’s light.

So hold on to hope, find comfort and strength in your friends, and know that she will always be there.

Love -x-x-x-

Wonderful Shir'le.

What you have described is a perfect fit for Eilistraee and the song, "The Call", well the more I listen to it, the more it seems appropriate for her.

Thank you Shir'le :D

You know, for some reason when I hear Nemo by Nightwish, I think of Eilistraee.

Was listening to this song during my morning ride to campus. I happen to think it's got an Eilistraeen ring to it.

There's even handy lyrics on the page.

Hopefully, I'm not the only Nightwish fan here.

This is something I've come across before, but thought it's worth seeing. The best Eurovision contest was in 2007 in Finland. Why? The previous year Lordi won the contest with Hard Rock Hallelujah. In 2007 they openned the contest, and just before the new winners could be announced, people could experience this:

Lordi = lmao :p

Anyway, I came across this and thought to share it with you all here. The music is really good, it's from "The Last of the Mohicans" but it's what is being told during the slide show which makes you really think about things and realise that we are living in extrodinary times.

Wow. I mean really, wow. I know that 80% of the English words are not English in origin, but in total? WOW.
