OOC: HOLY CRAP I'M BACK!!! I really hope I don't say anything that makes a plot-hole or conflicts with anything previously posted...
IC: Malek squeezed Quin's hand as she went past, and walked into the doorway of Maya's room. He looked at Maya and felt such pity for her. He knew that she was afraid, and he wanted to comfort her. However, he knew that he would only alarm her, and he looked around for Night Rain.
"Night...I think you should spend the most time with Maya...help her feel comfortable." He then related to her the story of how they met, and just about everything he knew about her, so that when she felt ready, Night would be able to tell her as much as she could.
He patted Nathan on the shoulder and whispered to him "I'm sorry about Maya, friend."
He walked into the throne room and went to speak to his father. He hesitated a moment, and there was an awkward silence between them. Haltingly, Malek spoke, "Father...I have been outside already today...it is as though the threat of attack was but a dream...faded away with the morning sun."

Night watched her sister walk past her and did not know what to do... Then Malek pulled her aside to help Maya, she nodded slightly and then headed into the room to see what she could do. She though it wise to let her rest but sat on the edge of a chair in the room, wondering what to say to a young one who does not know she is on the surface, and surrounded by friends. Even her, the sun still hurts her eyes so she can only imagine for this one, so young to be able to take the light.
Aenor looked at his son with a smile. He truly missed his son, and only the pressing business of a possible war against the drow kept this from being a tearful reunion. "My son, if what you say is true, then perhaps the war preparations are not necessary. We will still keep our scouts on heavy patrols and we must send out squads of soldiers to escort our people's caravans."
Malek looked up to his father, slightly confused. Aenor glanced at the throne behind him, "'Twas not Aenor, but his son that claimed the forest keep. My words have no authority here." Malek chuckled at the strangeness of the situation and said to the squadron already present "Let it be as my honored father has spoken."
As the majority of the soldiers left, Malek and Aenor went for a walk to inspect the palace. As they neared the gym, Aenor said "I hope, my son, you understand why I had you exiled." Malek did not look at him, nor respond. Aenor continued "Your faith in Eilistraee goes against our traditions. While that doesn't bother me, nor the majority of our citizens, a group of zealotous priests controled our temples. They were going to execute you, and for your own safety, I had you sent away." Malek, who had not understood the reasons for his exile, looked up at his father, and realized his misplaced blame. Aenor stopped and turned to face his eldest. "I've missed you so much, my boy." He embraced Malek, and he returned the hug. "I've missed you, too, [i:2e5okt3x]Atar[/i:2e5okt3x]."
