Banshee's Call - Training Session OOC
Put up a challenge in the Arena if anyone interested. I'll join Talwyn in this never-ending quest to get some RP done in an RP forum...
For anyone who does decide to join, I'm using Rooky, the character sheet is [url=viewtopic.php?t=902:3paq96a9]here[/url:3paq96a9]
I'll need the character's name and sheet so hat I have a clue of what I'm up against.

Here is an old incarnation of Talwyn's 2ndEd character sheet that was submitted to Candlekeep many moons ago.
http://www.candlekeep.com/campaign/chars/talwyn.htm
I'm not sure how to convert those stats into 3.5 as I don't have any 3.5 manuals on hand.
Also, comparing levels and power is not the point.
Its how you face a challenge and how you conduct yourself in the face of impossible odds is the true test of character.
A Paladin does not retreat as they are the hand of their god. Death is but as light as a feather, duty the heaviest burden.
[b:2jid6p44][i:2jid6p44]Torm, the True God.
Release me from my sins.
Let me face Your enemies,
With my weapons and my Faith.
Let me be the bringer of Your Justice,
and deliver this World of them.
I place my soul on Your hands,
and my worthless body before You.
I ask only for Strength and Conviction,
to bring down Forces of Evil and Darkness.
Victory or Defeat,
Life or Death,
I care not.
I only pray that I will bring Honour to Your Name,
And Your Justice for all.[/i:2jid6p44][/b:2jid6p44][/size:2jid6p44]

heh sorry Rooky.
that prayer wasn't really directed at you but the other chap who shall remain un-named at this point
As for the "modern D&D" crap, well, I don't think its really all that necessary since we won't be using dice or any real core rule sets to moderate this sparring session.
Even if we did and I converted Tal over to 3.5, it'd be over fairly quickly [not that bothers me ] and I'd rather role play the combat within the limits of what the characters can do within the rule sets without actually having to resort to dice checks.

If you have to rely on playing without dices,
a D20 3.5 VS. 2ndEd, with the powers from the 2 VERY different rulesets,
Many complications would come, as it is 2 different rulsesets.
BTW Talwyn, you can find a free downloable copy
of the D20 3.5 rules at Wizard of the Coasts homepage.
(if it hasn't changed since last I visited it.
The ruleset is without examples/explanations and pictures, all that eye candy stuff.
It's only the basics + what would be equal to a monsters manual, none of the expansions though)
There exists an online version as well, not located at WotC.
