He finally gets up, staggering slightly, and grins back at the astonished lcones. "Yeah, I DID ask for it. And you're going to thank me for that." He says, then glances over at the nearest set of controls, and hops into the seat, the new knowledge flooding his mind as he begins lightly tapping buttons, flipping switches as if he's been doing it for years.

[i:1caohbj0]...Don't ask me. Thought it was your trick. But something clicked in my head and BOOM, I seem to know everything about your technologies.[/i:1caohbj0] She smiled oddly, seemingly having hard time believing it herself, then peered at the information panel. [i:1caohbj0]Ready to launch plasma torpedoes at your word, Edge![/i:1caohbj0]

Ready at this station," he announces, turning to Pyro and Stalker with a wide grin. "Now, what was that you were saying about bull-shit? Let's just say I 'took one for the team', and saved you guys the trouble of teaching us. Too bad I had to use up a wish to do it, but Hells, if it keeps us alive, I"m not going to complain."
Then he looks over at Zarae, and quirks up one white brow. "Did you HAVE to hit quite THAT hard, though? My GRANDKIDS will be feeling that one." He breaks into a chuckle, shaking his head. "I should have known you'd be the one to do it, though. I salute you, milady!" He does just that, giving her a mock salute as he turns back to the console.

"I've had enough of this," Zana whispered harshly under her breath. She walked straight up to pyro, sick of his not answering her questions, and was just about to grab if arm when something happened. Her head hurt like a blindeing migraine for a split second and then it felt as if the empty shelves in her brain were suddenly filled. She looked around at the once strange machines. She still had her arm outstretched, almost about to grab Pyro's arm and turn him around, "Never mind," she said absently, and she backed up.
"Sorry about that," she said, not really caring if he heard or not. She looked around and a particular gun caught her eye. It was a 100mm three-barrel Gatling gun. "That's a good lookin gun."
She felt a smack and her leg, and she jumped around to see Vlad looking utterly pissed. [i:3mqmg08k]Just gonna ignore me all night? Or relay my damn messages?[/i:3mqmg08k] he said with a complete lack of patience.
She turned back to Pyro, "Vlad wants to know if there's any way he can help, seeing as he can't operate a gun." Vlad looked intently at Pyro, making it obvious he wanted something to do.

He laughs at Zarae's reply, and winks. "I'll hold you to that. Besides, if you want to get technical, You still owe me for keeping your rear out of the fire earlier- so that makes TWO you owe me now. But hey, who's counting?!" He grins.

((pyro better answer, Zana might come after u!))
feining somewhat innocent and flirty(?) tone, "I had it totally under control. so I guess you will have to wait and see."
speaking to the clone in charge, "orders?"

((OOC: alright, just so everyone knows, I posted something to the OOC section, I’d prefer if everyone read it before posting after this. Thanks all))
Pyro looked at Zana, not sure what to do, given the simple fact that he [b:1rn3xbx1]couldn’t[/b:1rn3xbx1] really do much. However that changed the moment Onix and the rest of the team arrived.
Hissing open, the lift doors opened to the HVG gunner station and Onix, Ironside and the others walked out. Seeing Lothir, Lynx, and Zarae already in, Onix turned to Ryltar and Maryne and said "you two should posses the knowledge of how our weapons operate, if my eyes are not deceiving me, so pick a station and hop on."
Then turning to Pyro, he said “you’re with me and Ironside; we’re going [i:1rn3xbx1]hull-side[/i:1rn3xbx1] now.”
Pyro’s face lit up; “you got it, boss-man.” With that the demolitionist made his way over to his squad leader. Suddenly, he stopped and looked to Onix.
“Sir; is there anything we can do for Vlad, Zana’s tiger. He’s utterly bored and doesn’t know if he can do anything to help. Something we can do for him, sir?”
“If he doesn’t mind a quick surgical implant near his neck and into his spinal cord and using a quadreped exo-armor[/url:1rn3xbx1], then yeah there’s something he could do, and it would actually involve coming out onto the hull with us.” Onix said this without missing a beat. He looked at the tiger, and the furball had a look in his eyes that spoke of willingness and excitement.
“Well come on then,” the clone said, waving the tiger over.
Ironside merely nodded as Onix turned about and made his way back to the lift with Pyro and Ironside trailing, as well as Vlad.
When he reached the lift, Onix depressed a button on the control panel, signaling the lift to come down. Turning around, Onix looked to Edge and Stalker; “you two are going to be keeping our asses covered from here,” he then looked around to the rest of their companions; “as well as all of you from the planet. Think you all can handle that?”
“Affirmative,” Stalker replied with a grin on his face.
“You got it leader,” Edge replied as he took up a seat next to Lynx.
The doors slid open and Ironside walked into the lift, followed by Pyro, then Vlad, and finally Onix. Just before the doors closed, Onix said to Grisnaw, “hey, imp; you wanted some serious firepower at your claws, try the big guns,” pointing to the long-range plasma cannon[/url:1rn3xbx1] as he did. Then the lift doors closed and they four descended below the HVG.
Moving his gloved hands across the control panel with lighting efficiency, the gunner station that the techno-master took up was an AA gun station. As he brought his station online, a video screen popped up and showed the perspective from a gun-mounted camera. Within the screen, two multi-barreled cannons of his gun were shown, with two more 50mm AA rail-gatling guns[/url:1rn3xbx1] shown in the front of the screen.
Edge looked over his screen as five gun symbols popped onto his screen and all five flashed green, indicating all five were operational and ready for use. Edge controlled one gun, the one that his screen showed, with the other four slaved his targeting system. So where he pointed his turret, the other four did the same.
Stalker looked over to Zana as he noted her keen interest in the 100mm AA rail-gatling guns[/url:1rn3xbx1], which were essentially the bigger, heavier counterparts to the guns that Edge now operated.
“If you’re that interested in them, take up a control station,” said the sniper, pointing out a station to Zana’s left.
Edge looked to Lynx and had to grin; “you really just had to choose a heavy plasma cannon[/url:1rn3xbx1] with medium torpedo launchers built into it, didn’t you?”
Stalker turned to Drakin and said “hey, assassin; you like killing things with precision; why don’t you try the sniper beam turret[/url:1rn3xbx1] out. Ya might like it.” With that, Stalker points at the control station adjacent to him.
Edge looked up from his station at Ryltar, Maryne and the others who hadn’t taken a station already. “Well, if you guys are wanting to, hope on any of the turret control stations that are open.”

The turbolift that contained Onix, Ironside, Pyro and Vlad descended rapidly toward the airlocks below. When it slowed to a stop, the doors opened and Onix led the three out to the armory below deck.
When the clones and the tiger arrived at the armory, Onix said “Pyro, Ironside, suit-up for zero-gravity battle. Vlad, come over here for a moment.”
Pyro and Ironside nodded their heads in affirmative as Onix led the tiger over to the med bay in an adjacent room. The clone looked through a case that he had opened and found a small vial with a syringe on the end of it.
Grabbing the needle, the clone turned to the tiger and said; “alright big guy; if you wanna help, you need to hold still for a few seconds while I administer this into you, alright?”
When the white tiger nodded his confirmation, Onix walked over to behind the tiger’s neck and carefully inserted the razor thin needle right behind Vlad’s neck.
“You may feel a slight tingle in your neck, big guy; ignore it,” Onix cautioned him as he slowly injected the viscous fluid into the big cat. Vlad would feel funny and slightly dizzy as tens of thousands of nanobots raced through his neck to form a neural uplink connection for the big cat. As this happened, the nanites linked up directly with the cat’s spinal cord and then proceeded to form a literal ‘link’ that grew out wards right up to his skin surface.
“Alright, big cat; over here,” the clone gestured towards the armory, where the two would find Pyro and Ironside all ready for combat on the hull. Both clones were sheathed in a suit of heavy exo-armor[/url:24c7mjxa] each. The armor made each clone look almost 7’ tall, with ultra-dense heavy plating covering every part of the body. The helmets glowed red as the two clones stared down Onix and Vlad. As the clones moved even slightly within their armors, lightly-audible noises could be heard as reactionary circuits powered up their muscle movements, which granted them the capacity to carry the ultra heavy weapons that were in their hands.
“Ready when you are, leader,” chirped Pyro’s voice from one of the matte-black armor suits.
Pyro stood there armed with a heavy rocket launcher[/url:24c7mjxa] hoisted up on his shoulder, with a heavy PB cannon[/url:24c7mjxa](Particle-Beam) latched onto his back. Ironside was carrying a heavy PB repeater[/url:24c7mjxa] within his armored hands.
Onix nodded to his squad-mates and proceeded into the armory himself, with Vlad trailing. Looking over a control panel, the clone selected the quadruped suit of exo-armor that would allow the tiger to assist them in zero-gravity.
“Vlad, step over there,” Onix pointed to a center position that was lined with small arms on all sides. When the cat stepped over to the position, Onix ran his fingers over the panel with precision speed. Then the clone took up a position next to Vlad and using his HUD in his helmet, activated the exo-armor assembly system. ((think Ironman[/url:24c7mjxa] from the movie))
Robotic arms came whirring out of their cases, with armor plates in their mechanical claws. As Onix had his exo-armor attached to his already formidable OMNI-armor, Vlad was fitted with a complete exo-suit, which interfaced with the neural-up-link that Onix had established with the nanites just earlier. Clinks and clanks could be heard as the robo-arms of the assembly system turned Vlad and Onix into armored colossus's. Heavy plating was attached to both clone and cat as arms finished their metallic work. When it was completed, Onix took his helmet, which had been augmented to wear with his exo-armor, and latched it onto armor.
“Come over here, furball,” the squad leader said to a now fully armored and space-capable Vlad. When the tiger did as instructed, Onix pulled a small lever, which opened up a large door from the ceiling. What descended from it might have stunned the tiger. A heavy PB support repeater weapon[/url:24c7mjxa], which was attached to a weapons claw, descended from the ceiling towards the tiger’s back armor. Onix locked the swivel mount in place and attached the weapons targeting system up to Vlad’s exo-armor.
“There, now you should be able to have full control over that,” the clone said to the tiger. One thing that might surprise Vlad was that now he actually heard Onix in his mind.
“Wherever you look is where that gun aims; all you do to fire it is think the command; but do please wait till we actually get outside on the hull before doing that.” With that done, Onix made his way over to the weapons rack and grabbed a particle-beam rifle[/url:24c7mjxa], which had a barrel the size of the clones fist, and made his way over to the airlock.
When Ironside, Pyro and Vlad had joined him, he closed the blast door behind them, and then brought his heavily armored helmet to his head and sealed it shut.
“Well, time to go hull-side,” Onix said as he touched the control panel, which turned green. Air hissed and then roared out into space as the atmosphere was sucked out of the airlock. The airlock door opened to a starry space and the entire hull-side of the [i:24c7mjxa]Nighthammer[/i:24c7mjxa].
Edge looked out the panoramic viewport just in time to see his eco-armored squad-mates and Vlad clank onto the hull of the deck below HVG station. One of the troopers turned around and looked up at the viewport. Onix’s voice came over the com speakers.
“Alright, all you guys up there; since I’m not exactly in the position to give good orders, listen to Edge in my stead, should the situation demand it.” With that the com went dead. Edge kinda felt nervous in a new position all together as he realized that he was now in charge of all of the team up there.
On the bridge of the [i:24c7mjxa]Nighthammer[/i:24c7mjxa], the captain stood with his hand twitching his mustache in frustration as the radar began detecting thousands of enemy drone fighters[/url:24c7mjxa] began to launch from the enemy capital ships.
“Ensign!” shouted Witmor at a young human officer; “What’s the ETA(Estimated Time of Arrival) for those blasted fighters?”
“Less than forty-five seconds, Sir!” shouted the female officer.
Witmor gritted his teeth; “We have to hold off that many fighters for twice that time for the HVG’s to be fully charged, while simultaneously bringing down those ship’s shields. This is going to get interesting.”
Normally the [i:24c7mjxa]Nighthammer[/i:24c7mjxa] would have no trouble swiping the enemy ships from existence, but they’d been caught flat-footed, and with all surprise attacks, barely had the time to react.
Edge looked nervous as he watched more clones in exo-armors join Onix and the rest of Theta Squad outside on the hull. Within ten seconds, twenty full squads were out all around the HVG, waiting for the enemy drone fighters to come.
“Enemy contacts; bearing down on our nine o’clock,” Stalker said with a relaxed calm.
Edge brought guns to bear on that direction, noting that there were more than two-hundred enemy contacts blipping on the radar.
“Attention, all gunnery station commanders; this is the captain. You are weapons free. I repeat you are weapons free,” crackled the speakers overhead. Within seconds, tens of enemy drone fighters blazed across the viewport.
Edge didn’t need a second thought; “LIGHT EM UP!!” he roared. Right then, the view screen blazed to life as the AA rail-gatlings blazed yellow projectiles of death.
When the clones and the tiger arrived at the armory, Onix said “Pyro, Ironside, suit-up for zero-gravity battle. Vlad, come over here for a moment.”

Onix said to Grisnaw, “hey, imp; you wanted some serious firepower at your claws, try the big guns,” [/color:22p1qrgu]
Grisnaw looked at the size of the gun as though he had died and gone to his kind of heaven. Climbing into the seat he rubbed his hands together and gave an evil little laugh, "This is my kind of weapon! You know how to make a little gargoyle happy."
=====
Drakin looked over to the turret Stalker indicated.
"Ranged combat isn't my best area." He said with a shrug as he walked over, "But, I'll see what I can do."
Drakin and Grisnaw both waited past the incoming squads of fighters, all of which, they knew thanks to Lothir's wish, were all to nimble to effectively hit with the large guns. Instead waiting as the larger capital ship approached.

With the nanites now injected into his system, Vlad could finally communicate with the clones who have the nanites (which, I assume is mostly all). The armor really fascinated him and he never thought he'd be able to help in such a way, thinking he'd really have to sit it out. As the armor formed up around him, he moved his legs and neck in test movements. [i:2hkhs1gr]This is great.[/i:2hkhs1gr]
Onix then attached the PB repeater. Vlad automatically understood the concept. When he looked up, the gun looked up. When he turned to the side, so did the PB. When Onix told Vlad how to command it, it took all the will power he had to not think "shoot."
The lock opened up and they entered zero-G. Vlad had a slight panicking sensation when the airlock did open, but the suit held up. They then went out onto the hull of the ship, magnetic boots keeping them down.
[i:2hkhs1gr]Just one question, what kind of damage does this weapon do?[/i:2hkhs1gr] Vlad asked the squad. [i:2hkhs1gr]Oh, and one more. These boots haven't been known to malfunction have they?[/i:2hkhs1gr] he asked nervously. The last thing he wanted was to float off into space to die a long, slow death.

Zana looked to the sniper, and looked back to the 100mm canon, "Oh, will do."
She took up the seat in the control station for the gun and slowly swiveled the canon. The control station that she operated, controlled multiple other guns as well, all synchronized to her movements. Though the gun did move slow, it was a 100mm Gatlin', so it was incredibly powerful. "I like this gun," she said with a smile.

Onix, Ironside, and Pyro walked out onto the hull of the [i:3es3wy0t]Nighthammer[/i:3es3wy0t] their magnetized boots clanking away as they did so.
Onix turned to Vlad as the tiger clanked out onto the hull-side with them.
"The weapon that's on your back essentially fires off high-powered particle beams that explode when they hit something. So what you're carrying, Vlad, is essentially a heavy exploding PB repeater cannon."
Right then, all hell broke loose.
About fifty enemy drones swarmed Onix, his team, and another squad that was nearby, Beta Squad, from the left flank. raining green bolts of laser energy down upon the clones and Vlad, the drone fighters came roaring in fast, weaving in and out of the blue PB fire that lanced out from the clones.
Even as their drone fighters got the first shot off on the clones and the [i:3es3wy0t]Nighthammer[/i:3es3wy0t], the closest of all enemy captial ships, a black and red dreadnought[/url:3es3wy0t] started to close the distance between the [i:3es3wy0t]Nighthammer[/i:3es3wy0t] and itself, opening fire with its laser cannons, sending crimson bolts of lethal energy at the HVG and the clones around it.[/color:3es3wy0t]
Edge opened up with his rail-gatlings, showering two of the first drones with 50mm slugs. Stalker rotated in his seat as he brought his own AA's around to bear on Edge's targets, intending on catching them in a cross-fire.
"Drakin, Gris, I need the two of you to concentrate on that approaching dreadnought," the clone indicated the very obvious enemy ship. The deck would shutter when the imp fired his huge cannon.
"Lynx, fire off a burst right through the approaching drone formation, and right into that dreadnought."
Again the ground would shake beneath everyone's feet when the magess fired her gun.
"Everyone on AA's keep those damn drones off of Onix and the rest of them down there," Edge shouted toward Lothir, Zarae and Zana as he brought his guns around, blazing five bright paths into his next target.

Vlad listened intently to Onix until he saw the oncoming drones. [i:32kuxsio]What in the nine hells...?[/i:32kuxsio] He gazed t the drones in amazement, he'd never seen anything like that before. For just a brief second, fear gripped him with it's icy cold hand. He gritted his teeth and shook it off.
Aiming down the sights of the PB repeater, Vlad took his first shot. [i:32kuxsio]Lock n' load,[/i:32kuxsio] he laughed, thinking how strange it was to see a tiger wielding a shoulder cannon. [i:32kuxsio]Time to tag 'em and bag em'.[/i:32kuxsio] He aimed and fired, using the mental commands (this gun reminds me so much of AVP!).

Zana heard Edge's order, and was determined to obey, because she saw the drones heading full speed, for Vlad, the squad and the other squads. The last thing she wanted was Vlad to die, let alone the other guys, hell, she was actually starting to like them.
That was one thing about her, when she started to trust and like, she was willing to defend them to the death. It didn't happen often. But the whole group was full of such variation, she felt the need to keep that; which meant keeping them alive.
She aimed at the drones and fired, feeling the vibration of the gun shaking her hands and smiled just thinking of the sheer power this gun had.

the rogue did that. aiming and blasting the little boogers away with precision and accuracy. the hits focused on one till it moved outta range or disinergrated into pieces.
"people should invent games like this," the rogue joked, tho she might have been serious also.
another gone into a billion pieces.
Edge looked to Lynx and had to grin; “you really just had to choose a heavy plasma cannon[/url:1fccxb3w] with medium torpedo launchers built into it, didn’t you?”[/quote:1fccxb3w]
The elf looked to Edge and beamed a bright smile. [i:1fccxb3w]What... are there LARGER guns around?[/i:1fccxb3w] Her expression was telling 'if there is one larger, I want it!' Then the mage turned serious, whispering a [i:1fccxb3w]True Strike[/i:1fccxb3w] spell under her breath, which allowed her to take aim with insane accuracy. Then -boom-boom-boom- she fired several times in the row at the dreadnought while the spell lasted, sending a burst after burst of plasma its way, mouthing 'Whoaa' each time she felt the recoiling of the gun and the tremour.
