"I am Nedylene Rahn, the Argent Maid of Elben Aator, Protector of the Northwest Protectorate of Elben Aator, and the rarest think of all in the faith of Eilistraee, Matron of House Rahn formerly surface branch of House Vrinn."
Nedylene turns toward the voice not bothering to get her armor and redonning it. She still held Eilistraee's Justice and Nedylene's Sword. Nedy watched the woods around the clearing for the source.
"I come to meet with Qulie' Veladorn and other leaders of the Moon Shards of Abeir-Toril."
Her noble bearing is obvious even dress only in a pale blue nearly see through camisole and brief string biniki style loin cloth.
"I bring tidings from the Moon Shard of Lunar Temple and Nec'perya."
Delia Addams her half-Drow adoptive daughter stepped into the moon light standing by Nedylene's armor, boots, and other clothing. She has a magically enhanced composite longbow with a magically enhanced arrow nocked and ready to shoot.
"That is Delia Addams my adopted daugther. Did I mention she is an Arcane Archer, a ranger, a bard and oh yes you are a Harper right my dear."
"Yes mother I am," said Delia tracking the barely audiable sounds of the male's breathing and shifting weight.

Drow on the Surface face as many dangers as those in the Underdark. Just because the Rivvil is friendly does not mean he wishes to help you, he may just want to get you off guard before knifing you.

"A Harper, you say," Zazzt smiled, "Then you a friends of mine indeed, Ladies Nedylene and Delia. " He stepped out of his hiding place, "I appologize for the deception, but I suppose that is the result of spending a long time by oneself in the Underdark, and the World Above. " He bowed, "I am new to these parts, but I suppose those skilled with sword and spell can find a place in almost any group." Zazzt revealed well worn longswords, one in the shape of a dragon, the other with a lighning bolt pattern on the hilt.

[quote="silke_rahn":3r18tdwf]Nedylene waited for that to sink in before speaking some more while aware that the Goddess was standing next to her looking very much like the most beautiful drow female ever to walk the soil of Abeir-Toril and Faerun.[/quote:3r18tdwf]
Adian's knees gave out under him in the presence of his beloved goddess. The dim memory of her wonderous face floated briefly to the surface of his mind before fading again. Tears formed in his eyes as he was overcome with emotion. He barely had the strength to wipe them away.
"I walk in the presence of the divine," he whispered when his voice finally returned.
The presence of the other male eventually got his attention. He let the conversation go on around him while he regained control of himself. To be visited by a goddess once in a lifetime was one of the highest honors. To be visited twice, this second one on the eve of his first adventure outside of the Promenade...
He prayed for the strength to be worthy of the Dark Maiden's presence.
The suggestion by the stranger that he join the group bought Adian's attention back to the physical world. He got to his feet quickly, if a little unsteadily, and put a stronger grip on his own weapon.
"Deception at the outset does not make for a good first impression," Adian said, perhaps a bit more tartly than he intended. The young drow stepped forward, trying to place himself in a position where he could intercept any hostilities from the stranger. "Nevertheless, as always, this place is open to those in need of help and shelter. You are welcome to our hospitality, stranger."
[i:3r18tdwf]Just don't push it[/i:3r18tdwf], was the unspoken message.
Adian, though smaller than nearly everyone there with the exceptions of the children and Kaeli, had the poise of a fighter...in this particular instance, he resembled a shield ready to defend those under his protection.
Nedylene would recognize Adians behavior as rather typical of a youth his age...a young male sizing up the competition.

Zazzt smiled , "As i have said to this most beautiful lady, I fear that my time spent on the road has touched my sanity, although my mind and my blades are as sharp as ever, I have developed an ... habit of talking to myself, among other things. Nevertheless I thank you, my good sir..."

Adian's eyes narrowed slightly, briefly wondering if he was being made fun of and just as quickly deciding he wasn't. Fortunately his good manners took over almost immediately. He stood a little straighter and relaxed his grip on his own sword somewhat.
"Well met, then," he said. "You have just come upon the Evensong, a dance honoring the goddess we all adore. I am Adian Novar, and I am their guide to the Promenade of the Dark Maiden. In my Lady Veladorn's name, I extend the invitation to you as well."
[i:13h3gy1z]That was much better,[/i:13h3gy1z] he thought.

A maniacal gleam passed through Zazzt's eyes, but passes just as quickly as it came, and noticing Kaeli looking at his blades, "They are... tokens of my, ah... militant expeditions, the South is abundant with artifacts of old, if you know where to look," He smiled, "Perhaps you fine adventurers might accompony me there some day?" Zazzt started pacing around, muttering to himself, most of it incoherent, occasionally tossing one of his swords up into the air, and letting it impale the ground, inches from his feet

After a few moments more, Zazzt stopped pacing, and throwing up both swords at once caught and sheathed them in the blink of an eye. Noticing Adian's concern, he smiled warmly, "Honored am I to join your group. " Absentmindedly, he pulled out a dagger, and balancing it on one of his fingers, started humming a tune, his eyes scanning the surrounding area.

Nedylene watched the three others interact in their coversation and quietly went over to her clothing and armor. Nedylene dressed in her blue, gold trimmed peasant style shirt and matching trousers first. Then she began armoring up by first putting on her form fitting arming jack. Next she with Delia's help donned her cruirass and buckled its straps tightly. Again with Delia's assistance she buckled on her paldruns (shoulder guards). Then she put on her arm armor one arm at a time. After that she and Delia worked on puting on her leg armor. Finally she put her heavy leather boots of striding that were enhanced to the third circle.
After armoring up Nedylene wrapped a double wrap weapons belt around her waist. On it there are the scabbard for her sword named Eilistraee's Justice, a dagger with its scabbard, and two pouches. Then she slung a large pouch over her should right to left allowing the pouch to rest on her left hip. (Bag of Holding) Next she slung a baldric from left to right that held a small pouch and another dagger and scabbard on the front and a backslung scabbard for her sword simply named Nedylene's Sword on the back. Delia held out Nedylene's battered Drow Warrior's Helmet her. Nedylene took it and instead of placing it on her head she just buckled its neckstrap then hung the helm from a hook on her belt.
"So how long have you been watching us Jabbruk Zazzt?"

"Eh, not long, Milady, as a matter of fact, 'twas not more than since you entered this clearing," He looked at all of her impresive weaponry, "But then again, I could of forgotten... but I highly doubt that. Erm, are you...we getting ready to break camp, Milady?" He waved his hand at the bushes from which he entered, and a small object flew landed in his hand, which he promptly put into his pack. The dagger was still balancing perfectly on his other hand.

"We've only just arrived, actually," Adian said. "I believe the plan was to move on in the morning. He looked to Nedylene for confirmation. He also edged a bit closer to his armor, taking his cue from her.
He was used to thinking in simple black-and-white terms. This man seemed to be a walking paradox...speaking friendly words while playing with his unsheathed weapons in full view.

"Ah, hmm, I see," He dropped the miniature tent, and it blossomed into a full sized one, just large enough for Zazzt to fit into, he sheated the dagger, and crawled into the tent.

"Aye, I am sorry, I am surface born and after the Neverwinter-Luskan War and living on Elben Aator far to the west as I do now I have spent way too much time underground and favor travelling in the daylight"
She looked at Adain and at Kaeli to see if they understood her secondary reasoning. Her main reason was to avoid Lolthians as much as possible. Drow magic may work on the surface now, but it is better not to take chances. Even now many Underdark Drow are uncomfortable in the sunlight.
Just in case she voiced it.
"The main reason is to avoid as much contact as possible with our spider kissing brethren below."
