Aurora padded alongside Adian, whom she noted had that look upon his face that Veraka had had the first time that he'd ridden on her; though Aurora was just under 5' in height, her incredible strength and stamina made her capable of carrying even Veraka's incredible mass over a great distance with ease.

The winter wolf halted and looked to the drow; [i:1utardkj]you have a certain look upon you that I find a little funny, as it was the same one Veraka gave me a long time ago. I don't know the distance to your camp, but perhaps you'd like a ride on my back. As nimble as I know drow to be, I'm certain that me carrying you could cover the distance in no time; and don't worry about weight,[/i:1utardkj] she said to Adian, a certain glint in her eye saying that she really didn't mind running nor giving the drow a lift back to their camp.

When Meldrin was convinced to remain claim and except that Aurora meant no harm, Cinder when back to the fire and seeing the corn was fully cooked drained the pot and placed the pot of steaming corn off to the side and began cutting up the ham and placing it artfully on a wooden platter. Meldrin was behind her relaxing on the ground at a comfortably distance from the fire, his great antlers towering. She giggled at Frads statement of wanting to impress the girls. " Could you teach me how to make some of your candies some day " she asked him handing him a peice of ham. He nodded in agreement as he took the ham thanking her.

"Pwdn, I think it shows such a depth of character to want to put as much thought in finding ways of hurting people the least in a fight, all though most aponents have not such consideration. But I think if one was to give it as much thought as you do, you are surely to come up with answers. " Cinder said as she delicately handled the meat. " As far as i have been taught being a accurate shot and of coarse as you have mentioned well maintained weapons, are some what affective "

A very boyish grin appeared on Adian's face. He managed to keep from hopping with excitement, though.

"I would be honored...it's only a short walk but..."

He gauged his ascent carefully and then simply vaulted on to her back. Her fur was almost as cold as the air, but there was a lair of down underneath that kept her protected. He settled himself until he got a firm seating and then tapped her side with his hand.

"That way," Adian said. "Through those trees and straight on."

He couldn't wait to see Veraka's face!

After finishing his communique with the horses and swearing to them on his life that Aurora would not harm any of them, Veraka turned back to Lyon, made his way over to the warrior, and took a seat next to him.

As the aasimar listened to Lyon, he knew all to well how he was feeling. Veraka gave a slight smirk as Pwdn shoved Lyon in the back.
Veraka then went to his calm demeanor; "Here's something to ask yourself, Lyon; have you ever attacked anyone who didn't strike at you first, because if you didn't, then you truly haven't betrayed your vows, if that is what you're trying to get at; you truly haven't killed anyone, if they throw the first strike, like those stone-encased bastards that we dispatched a while back," the aasimar counseled Lyon, knowing all too well what he was feeling.

"If you truly value your friend's lives, then what you, me, Frad, and Adian have done is nothing short of our duty. Defending our comrades and all goodly folk is what that duty is."
"As to what Pwdn has told you; yes I believe that there is a weapon of such capability out there, and if my memory serves me correctly, there is also an enchantment of exact capability that can be added to any weapon." The aasimar stopped at Lyon's last 'you know what I mean' statement. He nodded, then continued, "well it depends on whom your patron deity is that you'd be granted such a gift. I know that one of the reasons why The Lord of the Northern Wind granted me my armor is because I've seen much combat since I was granted it. It truly depends on your patron deity and what part of their dogma you truly believe to serve through."

At Lyon's comment about wanting to impress a girl by being an all giving hero, Veraka had to summon all his mental strength and willpower to keep from bursting out in hysterical laughter; he managed to keep his expression that of a light smirk.
"Do [b:3c6fo76j]I[/b:3c6fo76j] think it's wrong to try and win over a nice lass for your actions; I say nay to that, good sir," he replied in a very low tone, then continued; "but, if this lass in question is one whom is a very powerful cleric in service to the god mercy and suffering, then you might be in for one helluva time. Of course, I've met some interesting women, so I can't be one to judge; in any case, good luck, whatever your plans are."

At Cinder's excited cry, the aasimar turned to see where his trusted winter wolf friend might be.

-------------

When Adian pointed toward the camp, Aurora took off like racing horse, blitzing her way through the trees and across the snow to get the camp. The air rushed by her and Adian as the great wolf propelled herself, one great bound stride after another.
[i:3c6fo76j]Ever done this before?[/i:3c6fo76j] she asked Adian on her back, as they came within visual range of the camp.

"Ride a Winter Wolf?" Adian asked, unabel to supress a grin. "Never. This is my first time. I am a trained rider in any case. That's the camp ahead...and that great glare of the sun off metal...that's him."

The winter wolf let a low chuckle as she and Adian came running up to the camp; [i:2onm9eas]It doesn't matter if one is trained to ride or not. I'm adaptable; Veraka on his best days, when he was just starting off, was still a little shaky on my back; and oh yes, he always stuck out like a sore thumb, even on the best of days.[/i:2onm9eas] She said this as the two of them came a upon the camp.

Aurora then let loose a cheerful light yip as she trotted into the camp, telling her aasimar friend that she was here.

------------

Veraka looked around to see his friend, Adian, riding atop his dear winter wolf companion. He gave a genuine smile at the drow; "So now you've taken up Aurora as a ride, huh Adian? I know she's fast and all, but don't you already have a horse?"

Cinder was amazed by the presents of such a creature in the camp, Meldrin how ever was not so impressed and she picked up on his disapproval immediately. " You just stay right were you are Meldrinus I will not have you getting your nose in a twist, look at how well behaved the horses are. "

This is exactly what the caribou needed to hear, he looked behind him at the horses they were a bit nervous but were not making things difficult they seemed to except the situation, he could certainly behave as good as a horse could. " I think you should keep her on that side of the fire for obvious reasons." Cinder suggested. " Do you think he is hungry Verake. " she asked.

"I'll give you mine," Adian said from atop the great wolf. "I'm sure she'd like a rider who can stay on her."

He stroked the wolf's head behind the ears.

Lyon nodded, and read from a locket which was fastened about his neck, beneath his armour. It was of crude make, a child's toy more then anything, but he'd had it for a great deal of time. He read from the inscription inside, which was well-worn into near illegibility, but Lyon knew the words by heart regardless/

"A hero is sworn to valour.
His voice speaks only truth.
His blade defends the helpless.
His might upholds the weak.
His heart knows only virtue.
His wrath undoes the wicked."

He put it away again as Veraka left, Veraka's words and the ancient oath reaffirming his belief that this is what he wanted. "Well if she was so easy to impress, it wouldn't be worth the effort." He stood suddenly as the winter wolf appeared but seeing that she was friendly, and bore Aidan with her, he relaxed and returned to his former task of watching everyone as he looked about for any signs of trouble approaching.

Frad had been chatting with the horses after Pwdn had enigmatically mentioned that she might be able to find him such an ingredient id he gave her some time, and was engaged enough with them that he missed Aurora's arrival. When he did see her it was only to give a cursory glance; things were odd enough that this wasn't apt to faze him at all. He was asking their opinions on something, and this actually held their attentions quite firmly. Frad had a way with words when it came to subjects he knew, after all.

Pwdn had apparently decided her fungus loaves were finished, and was going about the task of cracking open the hardened, packed clav to free them now that they were done. The first came apart cleanly, the broad leaves she'd wrapped it in peeling back smoothly to reveal a soft, spongy substance that was pale gold but had a glossy bluish sheen to it in the firelight. "Ah, there. All done." She wrapped it in a shred of cloth and put it to one side, followed by its' fellows, five in all. She looked about, wondering if anyone would like to try some and offering it to those who caught her eye.

" Freshly baked bread, nothing is better " Cinder reached for a piece.

" This is so great " she went to the pack horse for butter, she skipped back to the spot beside Pwdn, drew her dagger and smeared the bread with the butter. " Come and sit by the fire everyone there is a feast waiting here for you " oh Pwdn, you know your way to a girls heart. " she giggled.

She poked Biot " Wake up can't you smell all this lovely food and Frad has made us a desert " she poked him again "

Cinder poured Pdwn a cup of tea " who else will have tea " she inquired.

" Adain, I wish I could have been a bird on a near by branch when you realized that was not Aurora facing you, that was some scary looking teeth, I am sure I have not been so close to a wolf that big " Cinder teased.

"Oh, how very reassuring. Not that I'm heavy enough as is, but whatever; at least when I go for tumble, I don't need to worry about being trampled on," the aasimar shot back, his face grinning at the drow. The aasimar noted how Aurora was smirking at the little jest going on between the two.
---------
Aurora gave off the aura that she enjoyed Adian's stroking her behind the ears, loving every bit of it. Gods it had been near 7 months since she'd last seen any people, let alone Veraka. She was starting to like his new found group, but then again, she knew that Veraka always had a way with making great friends to begin with, as evidenced by Adian on her back.
---------
Veraka walked up to Aurora and embraced her in bear hug, as Aurora returned his affection by rubbing her head against his chestplate.
"You know how long I've been worried about you?" he said to her, his smile not dwindling in the slightest as he let go of her.
---------
[i:3fwwn87f]I could say the same about you[/i:3fwwn87f] she shot back in a rude tone, but her eyes spoke otherwise, relieved to see her little aasimar brother.

Hearing the words of the druidess, Cinder, Aurora padded her way to the other side of the campfire, and lowered herself to the ground.
[i:3fwwn87f]Sorry if you were enjoying that, Adian, but some rest and food would do me good at this point,[/i:3fwwn87f] she said apologetically to the drow paladin.

At Lyon's comment, her ears perked up and she asked Who's [b:3fwwn87f]he[/b:3fwwn87f] trying to impress?
----------
Veraka caught her comment about Lyon, and burst out laughing, not being able to contain his joy any longer.
"I believe that he's trying to impress one of the ladies within our little party, though whom, I won't hazard a guess," the aasimar said in a cheery mood. Looking over at Pwdn as if to emphasize his point, Veraka's face changed to intrigue as he realized that Pwdn had cooked up something, though what it was, he was at a loss for.
"Lady Pwdn, might I inquire as to what you've made?" he asked.

Cinder looked at the wolf with affection and picked up a big piece of meat and passed it to the wolf " May i pet him Verake? "

Cinder looked back at her Meldrin he was surprisingly calm Verake encouraged her to do so. She gave him what was left of her richly buttered bread.

She reach slowly and scratched his ear and pet her beautiful coat Cinder was entranced. " She likes your bread Pwdn " stroking him gently she told Verake there is steaming corn cobs in that pot with the lid, taking a piece of ham from the plater one for her another for Aurora and passed it to him. " I got this ham from the kitchen back at the post I think he basted it with honey Frad." she snickered.

((just a friendly fyi, Aurora is female ;) ))

Aurora looked up to Veraka as Cinder asked her question, but she didn't mind the attention and food; she ate up the meat the druidess placed in front of her. She gulped it down, as well as the bread that Cinder gave.
The winter wolf gave Cinder a quizzical look as the druidess placed a piece of ham in front of her.
[i:2txanqjw]Though I am unused to this kind of attention, I suppose I should thank you,[/i:2txanqjw] Aurora commented to Cinder as she gorged on the ham.
-----------
Hearing Cinder, Veraka decided to grab one of the corn cobs and munch on it, not minding the steam and heat, as his gauntlets gave him some decent protection from heat.

Biot woke up when he felt Cinder poking him. He then smelled something delightful. He hadn't smelled something like that in a while. He then remembered Veraka's words just before he dozed of again about not feeling guilty of something he didn't want or ask for.

"Thank you for you words earlier Veraka" Biot said as he turned to Veraka, seeing the most beautiful animal he has ever seen in Veraka's arms. "That must be Aurora?" Biot asked. As he took a piece of bread.

((fyi Biot, ya might be motivated to look back a page or two; Pwdn posed a question to you earlier))

The aasimar turned to Biot, who'd just woken up, and replied "think nothing of it, my friend; I was simply speaking the truth for what it was."

"And yes, this is Aurora, my winter wolf friend whom I've missed for sometime," he continued, gesturing towards the great winter wolf.

-------------

Aurora looked up from her meal of ham and looked at Biot, her ice-blue eyes studying him from her position; [i:3tmitrk0]Pleasure to meet you, Biot[/i:3tmitrk0] she said telepathically.
