He motions to the image of Toril, a bright blue jewel suspended within a vast sea of stars.

"This is the plane on which we are in. As far as I can tell, there is only one continental cluster left."

He swallows once before continuing. "About three thousand miles or so from our current position there is some sort of distortion. You can see here where the land just sort of slopes away. After that," he gestures to the stars. "There's nothing left. Just emptiness..."

Elwyn's mouth dropped open, "With that little puppet you can see that far? I must have one, how did you construct it?"" He seemed not to really be concerned about the fact of something occurring that far away, "As for your planar anomaly, if it is that far away, does it really matter? If there are any inhabitants of Toril that complain of their land being devoured by the Plane of Shadow, then there is cause to worry, but none have made any such claims, as far as I know," He turned to Gareth, "Have you heard anything like that?"

"Never in my lifetime, But I would think if they made no attempts to make a call for help , There probably not in any trouble, And how reliable is this machine that is scanning the planet, and giving this data, Could it be possible its broken or has a glitch?"

To Elwyn he says: "It's just a standard issue PDA," he says as he lifts his wrist. "I just sent up a reconnaissance and communications probe yesterday."

He chews his lip thoughtfully at Gareth's suggestion then begins flicking his fingers at the glyphs, expertly navigating the sub-menus. Apparently he finds what he's looking for: a display of some sort of small cylindrical object that is flashing green.

"No. According to the diagnostic all systems on my probe are working fine."

He studies the hologram for a long while.

"I do have an idea, however."

More arcane gestures follow this statement and Toril reappears, then he closes the screen.

"There. I just sent the probe due West. Hopefully it will be near the anomaly within a few hours."

Elwyn nodded, "I'm not sure what I could do, but my puppets might be able to help, if need be...." He scratched his head, "I suppose I could send one of my puppets, perhaps even Gurguch underneath the thing to try and discover what is happening... as soon as I get him fixed, speaking of which..." Elwyn pulls out a large scroll, and urolling it on the ground, his black roc flies out of it in a puff of smoke, "Hop on, I will take you to my laboratory."

"Hmm, How bout i ride mine?" He said laughing lightly, Walking a long distance. "I Heard some Gryphon calls from over here, I Figure this will be a new experience riding my own" As he was walking by, The ground got rockier and harder to walk, He came to a mountain with a small smooth pathway up to the top, He climbed and climbed To the top, Where there were 2 nests One on the far end and one beside him, The near one had only one male griffen, he seemed angry that i was so close to the nest, But it knew i would do no harm, i placed my hand on the head of the animal [Animal empathy] Giving it a pat on the head and reaching into his pack and pulling out some food [Tame Animal], The Gryphon seemed to like it enough to let me step over towards him, And mount him. I Struggled to keep him under control but eventually he stopped and let me on. I gave it a slight tap on the back and we were off, Flying around the moutain top and diving down, Then pulling up when we got to the trees and lightly landing on his feet. "Well now, It was a challenge but now i have a friendly mount." He pointed out, as his bird walked over to the group, This bird seemed to have some sort of skip to his walk. "Now shall we depart?"

OOC) Sorry about the absence; I've been sick lately. Posting should resume as normal, now.

Ven eyes the roc warily, then looks to Elwyn. Are you sure it can carry the two of us?

OOC: rocs are colossal creatures, think very old dragon.

IC: Elwyn nodded, "I am certain, I made this puppet to pick up enemy soldiers in groups, then drop them on their comrades, I think it can carry you, make any adjustments you feel are necessary to the flying harness." He turned to Gareth, "The puff of smoke is simply a byproduct of the summoning scrolls I use, that roc is as solid as the ground beneath your feet, or your pack for that matter," Elwyn said, winking.

OOC: All spells wear off eventually....

IC: Yes, well all i can say is that all spells wear off eventually, And i just pray your not riding when it does. Cause i can tell you, Crashing is NOT fun. And what is that got disspelled? I can count on something that is actually meant to be.... Moving on, Lets get to where we need to go.

Ven looks to Elwyn.

"I'm sure you have some sort of means of protecting yourself if this thing becomes suddenly less...tangible."

With that he begins inspecting the saddle. Soon enough he climbs atop the beast and hooks a cable from his harness to a handy D-ring. He reaches a hand down to Elwyn.

"Ready when you are."

OOC: Its a summoning, not a spell, it is a tangible puppet, that he made himself, that scroll is just a means of calling it :P

IC:

Elwyn nodds, and grabbing Ven's hand, jumps up onto the saddle, with a wave to Gareth to follow, he comands his roc to take off. The roc rises up into the air, slowly at first. Then Elwyn twitches his fingers, and it picks up speed. Soon they landed by Elwyn's little adamantine hut. Elwyn hopped off the roc, and passing his hand over a section of wall, which turned into pile of metalic sand, stepped into the hut. Through the door could just be seen a table, piled with tools, and a strange humaonoid object laying on it. "Welcome to my humble abode away from home."

Ven seems more cautious than awed at the sight of magic. He peers around the room in curiosity, wary of any errant experiment that may leap out of a corner somewhere in an attempt gnaw his face off.

"This is an interesting domicile you maintain, Elwynn."

His gaze rests on the humanoid figure on the table and he arches a brow.

"Friend of yours?"

"Unfortunately I think he has a habit of killing people and dragging their rotting carcasses back to this hut and making puppets out of them for his own sick pleasures." I said, Beginning to snicker and chuckle.
