The celestial looked down at Adian as he accompanied her back to the camp.
"Thank you, young paladin," she said, giving the young drow a nod of thanks; looking at his sword arm and the bastard sword, Marala Vharc, that he held, she asked, "Tell me, warrior of the Dark Maiden, would you like a blade akin to the one you now hold?"

If Adian didn't already feel the power of the sword he now held, it crackled with power, electricity arching up and down it's wicked edge; the power within it speaking of the elemental that's infused within the blade itself. The solar walked onward to the camp; hearing Biot ask his question of whether or not they should be moving, she replied "Though there is wisdom in your words, young warrior, not many creatures, save ones the strength of the vile one we just defeated, would come face to face with one of the strongest angels of Mount Celestia; and especially when that angel is the mother of the warrior whom she now holds."

With this she gently set Veraka down onto the ground next to Neriah, and turned to Pwdn; "Thank you, Pwdn, follower of Illmater; your abilities here have not gone unnoticed, but please, don't exhaust yourself; I too possess a number of spells that should assist us here."
As she finished the sentence, one hand went through a silent motion and touched the scorched aasimar on the head, casting [i:233pkm38]Mass Heal[/i:233pkm38] on the entire area. The worst of Veraka's burns immediately started to heal up, as did a limping Aurora, who by now had settled in next to Pwdn and was concerned about her little aasimar brother.

Turning to Lyon while she was kneeling still, she said "Lyon, warrior whom knows no fear, because of your bravery today and defeating such a vile undead creature, when Veraka wakes and can stand, please come and talk to me; there is something I wish to ask you with Veraka."

Noting Frad, who was in the area, she turned to the stout dwarf; "and you, master dwarf guerrilla fighter, your help here has been astounding and for that, I thank you," as she said this, her golden eyes glowed with radiance and joy; "though I understand your . . . . unorthodox, and occasionally, uncanny tactics are amusing sometimes, I ask that you please refrain from that mindset until at least everyone is healed and in good spirits."

She then looked to Cinder, and smiled; "and you, Cinderanna, thank you for keeping Veraka's spirits alive when he was in the deepest of sorrow and despair; for this you have my eternal gratitude."

Drakashin watched the celestial cross the encampment with curiosity. He hadn't seen many celestials, even during his training at the Host Tower. Most wizards prefering to get their answers from demon's.

Even though he was curious about Veraka's mother, he stayed well back. He doubted that an celestial would look kindly at one whom practiced the school of necromancy.

As he sat there, Grisnaw finally returned with his bag of holding.

"I hope you didn't waste too many of my potions and staves." Drakashin said, "But, that is probably too much to ask for."

Grisnaw just shrugged his shoulders and handed the bag to the wizard.

"A-a blade like this?" Adian said, staring at the solar. "I would be satisfied with a mere replacement. Something like this...I do not believe I am worthy of something so powerful."

Deep down, though, he had to admit to a twinge of excitement at the offer. Just being offered a comparable weapon was a great honor...by a solar!

"Perhaps 'worthy' is the wrong word," he said. "I feel that it would be akin to handing a child a fireball. I have no experience wielding such a weapon."

[i:ce7y9e5e]Still...a silver weapon akin to that wielded by the Protectors of the Song would be...no. Such a thing would be far above my place.[/i:ce7y9e5e]

Cinder heard Adians thoughts and feelings concerning the sword being offered. Adian you would not be made such an offer if you were not worthy, look were the offer is coming from i am sure she knows you are worthy and able to wield such power or it would not be offered, you know there will be challenges to come. She blew him a kiss.
She called to Aurora woundering how she faired

The female celestial looked at Adain and Cinder from her kneeling spot and decided that her towering apperance might be a little disconcerting to the drow. Raising her hands over her 9' tall frame, the celestial enclosed herself with shimmering silver and golden light as she polymorphed herself.
"I suppose this is a [i:2qkqhe1m]little[/i:2qkqhe1m] more manageable," came a soothing, singing voice as the lights dissipated. Standing before Cinder and Adian, and the others was a aasimar woman about 5'8" in height; her golden eyes still there, as was her radiant silver hair.

Looking to Cinder, the polymorphed celestial looked to Cinder and said "Lady Cinder, there is no need to call me 'Mi'lady'; I assure you I am no more important than you, Adian, or anyone else within this extraordinary group that is here. If you wish, you may call me Sanisa."

She then eyed Adian for a little time; "and why do you feel like a child with a fireball, Adian, paladin of Eiliestraee, hmm? To me, anyone who challenges a balor demon and fights, even though his weapon is fully gone, is one who's worthy enough to wield such a weapon; though I do see your point in its power. Though I feel such a weapon would suit you well, I feel that the powers stored up within Marala Vharc are better suited to my son's abilities, as his heritage gains him a degree of magical power over an elemental type of energy."

Sanisa paused, putting a slender hand to her chin, thinking slightly at how to award the young paladin for his valiant effort and restore to him a weapon worthy of both him and the Dark Maiden.

"Perhaps you wouldn't mind taking on a blade akin to the one of the Singing Swords that your Protectors of the Promenade wield; while I cannot form the exact blade, as they are gifts from the Dark Maiden herself, I [b:2qkqhe1m]can[/b:2qkqhe1m] produce a weapon similar in many respects to one of them, but it is up to you what weapon you would ask from me. What weapon would suit one of your caliber, my young paladin?" she asked the young drow, her wings folding around her slim, mithral-plated body. A slight smile formed an Sanisa's face as a weapon came to mind that she knew did not possess a wielder of its own and would due the young paladin well, [b:2qkqhe1m]if[/b:2qkqhe1m] he accepted it.

"It has been a wish of mine," he admitted. "To strand among hte Protectors one day...unless she wishes otherwise for me. Very well, my l-er...Sanisa."

It just didn't feel right addressing a [i:31ifk9xr]solar [/i:31ifk9xr]by her name. Such beings were among the highest of the divine servants.

He set Veraka's blade next to the big warrior, and set his hand on its grip just in case its familiar weight gave his some comfort.

"Perhaps this all is part of the Dark Maiden's will. I humbly accept."

It was with some surprise that Adian glanced down at his previously badly-burned hand. The damage had been healedentirely, but his palm bore the image of the Dancing Maiden against the lunar disc...the image of the holy symbol he had palmed when he had moved had been somehow scarred on to his flesh. His eyes widened as he realized what it was.

"By the Lady," he said.

The celestial smiled at the young paladin as his hand glowed with the symbol of the Dark Maiden; "Perhaps the Dark Dancer has seen your action's as noble as I have, young paladin."

The celestial's eyes darted their corners as she noted Veraka was stirring, his armored glove closing in around the familiar sensation of his weapon.

"If you accept such a weapon, then I shall give you one such weapon." With that, the female solar put her hands together in a reverent prayer position and bowed her head low. Chanting in her musical voice, Sanisa arched her arms through the air as she cast the appropriate spell that would deliver to her Adian's weapon.

A small, shimmering portal of white light appeared within her encircled hands; the portal remained open for several seconds as the celestial reached through it with a slender hand and pulled out a shining blade, one about the size of Veraka's own sword. The weapon literally resonated with energy as Sanisa gripped it by the hilt.

The blade looked to made of mithral, and it glowed with a blueish holy light to it, crackling from time to time as Sanisa waved it through the air, confirming that the weapon she had retrieved was the actual blade she had in mind. She [b:phhu1yl9]felt[/b:phhu1yl9] the weapon's power, as it was enchanted, and very strongly so.

She turned and unfolded her wings, revealing to the young drow the shining masterwork bastard sword. Fliping the blade over with gracious ease, the solar presented the weapon to Adian, hilt first.

I believe [b:phhu1yl9]this[/b:phhu1yl9] weapon will serve you just fine," she said with a hint of amusement at the drow's expression.
"It's name is Sargtlin's Lar, which I'm sure you would know to be drow for 'Warrior's Call'. This weapon has been around for quite a time, and I feel that it will be best used within your capable hands. As you grow in strength, courage, and skill, so too will this weapon in ways even I cannot begin to imagine. I was not privy to the creation of such swords, but I [b:phhu1yl9]can[/b:phhu1yl9] assure that it has the capablility to serve you in every regard that you need. Also, unlike your last blade, Sargtlin's Lar will not break, scratch, or shatter when used against planar enemies like that loathsome balor." She said with a hint of pride in her voice, for Sanisa truly believed the weapon would serve the young drow paladin well.

Aurora had made her way over to Cinder and was resting beside the druidess as she watched the spectacle unfold.

Adian dropped to one knee immediately to recieve the blade. He reached for it tenatively at first, then grasped the hilt with more confidence. He stood and lifted the sword in an instinctive salute, but he was unable to take his eyes off the mithril sword.

He could somehow almost feel the history of the weapon, a lineage of owners and deeds Adian could not imagine. There was a surge through the blade as it approved of and accepted its new owner. Or perhaps partner was a better word.

He was silent for several moments as the weapon glowed, then dimmed into quiesence.

"I don't know what to say," he said in a hushed voice. "Thank you, milady."

Sanisa gave the young paladin a look-over, admiring how quickly the sword became attuned to its wielder.

[color=blue:g8sspmn9]"I don't know what to say," he said in a hushed voice. "Thank you, milady."[/color:g8sspmn9]

"You need not say anything, Adian; think of this my way of saying thank you; because of your assistance and that of Cinder and Biot, you saved my own son a gruesome death and his loved one that of an even greater pain. I believe it is I who must thank you," she said, giving a light bow to the young drow.

"So I get knocked unconscious for the better part of the battle against that stupid fiend; and wake to find my own [b:g8sspmn9]mother[/b:g8sspmn9] granting my friend a weapon of comparable strength to my own blade, ehh," came that very familiar, deep voice from behind Sanisa and Adian, near Cinder, Aurora and the others.

Sanisa turned around to find her son staring at her and young Adian with a huge grin smacked on his face. She tried to sense what was going on through his mind; but Veraka's emotions were like a whirling maelstorm at the moment.

Truth was behind his huge grin, Veraka's mind was like a vortex of emotions. Upon hearing that the polymorhped archangel was his own mother, a surge of long dead and dormant emotions had come boiling to the top.

Part of him wanted to stomp over to her and erupt into a firestorm, spilling out his rage, anger, sorrow and disdain for her that he experienced as a child; for leaving him and his father to their fates and not even intervening to save his father. For that fact alone, Veraka felt the berserker well up within him and start banging up against his will.

But even his anger paled in comparison to the part of him wanted nothing more than to get up, walk over to Sanisa and embrace her in a great bear hug; even his anger at her couldn't overwhelm his sense of joy and fulfillment of finally laying eyes upon his own mother and [b:g8sspmn9]seeing[/b:g8sspmn9] her for the first time in his life.

Not knowing how to go about the situation, he decided to keep the joyful and reverent aura that his mother had established around; there was no sense in him going ranting on because of personal problems with his mother; he'd sort them out when the time came.

Adian was very glad Veraka was up and around, but he found himself wondering what would happen next? He was reminded of the issues he had with his mother the moment she looked at him.

[i:2sekmeob]Uh, oh...[/i:2sekmeob]

He placed Sargtlin's Lar in his old sword's sheath and stepped back to put an arm around Cinder. He wanted to suggest that everyone give Veraka and his mother some privacy, but he found himself unable to speak it.

Aurora raised her head up as Veraka stood up from his position and sheathed Marala Vharc on his back.

[i:2ko1h1ic]Uh oh indeed, Adian; I've known for a while that Veraka has wanted to see his mother, but I've also witnessed the pent up anger that he releases when he talks about how he would go about telling her what she did wrong in his life. If I know my little aasimar brother, this is gonna end in one of two ways: one is that asks her why she left him and his father to their fates, accepts her reasoning for her absence, and forgives her; or two; we're about to witness the Nine Hells personified in Veraka. I do hope he keeps his senses and reasoning about his skull, especially with Neriah in her condition and still conscious but resting.[/i:2ko1h1ic]

As the mighty aasimar raised himself up to his full-height, he eyed Sanisa in the eye, though his own silver orbs held not contempt, at least at the moment, but a deep sorrow that seemed to be an endless black void.
"If you feel that we must discuss your feelings for me now, my son, then speak and let everyone around here hear what it is you have to say," Sanisa spoke in calm and soothing voice, for she knew all to well the pent up rage that boiled within his soul; she had witnessed on many occasions just how deep that anger toward her ran within him. Just how he wasn't exploding at her right then was something of the abnormal.

Veraka just looked at her, but was unable to speak, the words just wouldn't come to him.

"You wish to know why I could not be there when your father was killed off protecting you, is this an answer you seek?" the celestial asked the armored aasimar.

Veraka merely nodded his head; Sanisa sighed at this, and waved him over; "come and sit; for the explanation is a long one," she said, seating herself down near Adian and Cinder. Veraka seated himself near Neriah, even though she was resting at the moment.
