"what was that for?" she asked sorta sheepishly to the ranger.

Inrii lead the way to the back of the alley and thru many of the dark strrets. there were others out about doing their night work, and just watched the companions pass by. everyone guessed who they were but none were willing to stand up to them, not even for the reward. then then were out of the slums and twords the center, the market district. the alleys and roads were more empty but that also meant guards.

Veraka watched Inrii finish the man off with a swipe to the throat, knowing that there was nothing he could do about it. He turned to regard the gathering crowd, then, hearing Inrii and Zek, he turned and proceeded along, tailing them with Aurora at his side.

He contemplated whether some of those rogues back in the alley truly deserved what they had received by their hands. Aurora glanced up at him, but he didn't return the look, focusing on what was straight ahead of him.

He heard Inrii comment at the look that Zek gave her, but said nothing, figuring that the ranger was up to his usual oddball tricks.
He noticed that there was nothing up the path that they were taking, but that usually meant an ambush. Seeing quite a few aura's up ahead of them a good 50 meters, he quietly commented "Looks like we have company."

" Nothing, at all." He commented as he followed Veraka and nodded slowly hearing him." Never a dull moment.. lets hope it's just beggars." He said calmly flatly, almost as if these things didn't phase him. Looking back to make sure they didn't get flanked from the back then looked back ahead.

Keeping his eyes glowing silver, Veraka used his vision to get a closer look at the aura's up ahead of them; they were black as the starless night sky, or, better yet, as the sky-less Underdark. Curiously, two of the aura's were about Veraka's size, [i:3l613mk6]perfect[/i:3l613mk6] he thought to himself.

"For once Zek, I actually wish you were right; there's about five very malevolent looking fellows waiting for us just up this way," he said in a low undertone, "they just don't quit, do they?"
Noticing a corner with shadows up the yinyang to his left, and another less conspicuous shadow cluster up further ahead, Veraka walked up another 20 meters before saying to Zek and Inrii, "both of those shadowed places are good hiding spots for you two, so let's ambush their ambush, ehh?"

He smiled flatly" Good.. then we don't have to worry about ripping their throats out... And you can keep the holyness about you." he mused lowly. Looking to inrii he nodded slowly" I have no qualms on not being nice for awhile.. someone has to have a happy balance."

(maybe b/c im totally worn out from this weekend, but zek does or doesnt want to be nice? i got confused, but thats easy right now...)

Inrii noticed the ones ahead. "no one here is smart are they?" she said speaking of those 5.
she slipped into the darkness of and continued onward.

Alya sat in her room and broke the wand. the force of the magic was powerful that she was not expecting it. but it was neccessary. she wasnt proficient in divinations and she had to know. last time the spell mentioned betrayal, but she guessed it would have within the guild. but such spells were vague on purpose. and numerous interpetation were possible.
(i dont know poetry-prophesy things, so i will just say the results as opose to the exact words for now)
battle is coming. their will be a success and faliure soon. and one will have revenge, tho short lived. but only one sorceress will come on top.
Alya snorted out of frustration. of course they both were. but she planned to tip the scales her way.
She cast the spell, setting the contingencies very specific. so if she was to fall in the fight, she would survive. tho the experice of going thru that again was not something she wanted.
Alya then made her way to the celler with a small bit of guards and gave them the instructions.

(will add more when i understand if we're gunna fight or sneak around...i need sleep!)

((ok, just thought I'd let you two know that this upcoming Monday I'm gonna be gone for ten days on a rafting trip, so, for obvious reasons, try not to kill Alya till I get back, but if the story must go on, then Veraka will be in a coma, or unconscious; if someone wants to take control of Aurora, then PM me.))

"My 'holiness' as you so aptly put it, ranger, is not to worry about; it would be the darkness inside me," he replied to Zek, knowing that all too well that the berserker was brooding within him, biding it's time, waiting for when it'll be the reason that'll keep Veraka alive.
Seeing that Zek was taking to the shadows, Veraka moved up to the location of the five, Aurora taking up right along his flank.

He was playing nicish before. Now playtime is over lol))

Tired of the humans and ultimately tired of well the whole city he was already scheming to bring the whole city down in flames. A small step towards evil but he'd be damned if he was going to let alya and her cohorts survive. Moving on through the shadows both blades were out and coated in poison. To him they made a deal, with full freedom to do as they needed as long as the two were delivered.

((Ok, well this is where I say "See you all in ten days", and have fun))

Veraka decided to hell with it, and rushed the encamped soldiers that were waiting for the three. The soldiers, not completely oblivious to sound, took up defensive positions, and readyed themselves; non of them suspected to have a 6'7" behemoth slam into two of them.

Veraka killed the first man due to the sheer impact of his charge. Knowing full well that he would be hit by an attack from behind, Veraka whirled about, raising his shield in anticipation that an attack would come from that direction; however, the real threat was from behind. The other guard that Veraka had slammed into pulled out a light crossbow, the quarrel coated with a potent poison. He fired, the quarrel penetrating in Veraka's skin; the aasimar slumped in an instant. The man then had to worry about a very angry flying white furball.

Inrii growled in frustration. of course they had to have the crossbows. Inrii spoke the words and hands flashed, the fireball leaving and hitting part of the group. she got her next spell going when the wolf took down the shooter. teeth bared they buried into the man's throat.

two dead, two were in severaly injured and one sneaking around in the darkness trying to flank them. of course he wasnt expecting the angry ranger about to pounce.

It wasn't just the pounce it was a full blown assault from the shadows. The blades plunged into the shoulders from the top down like a snake bite and the man was pulled back into the shadows only to be silenced instantly. Stepping out of the shadows silently he rolled his shoulders some following her." Well. that was interesting.. looks like they're probably anticipating our arrival."

"I wouldnt doubt it. this Neriah's probably got the guild hunting us as well as the guards."
she looked around and pointed to an alley that looked rarely traveled. "there," she whispered, "that should cut twords the warehouse anyway."
she looked back to the ranger, "have fun? you didnt take long with him."

He nodded some and motioned to their unconscious companion" We should go but what about Veraka? It was fun, but I'll have more fun at the warehouse."

she turned around to see the warrior was sleep on the street. '[color=green:36dj3cmw]of course he was, because this trip cant be simple.[/color:36dj3cmw]'
she thought a minute. "do we drag him?" she looked to the wolf, one he rode in the forest. "looks like your carrying him."
after he was hanging across Aurora's back Inrii made her way down the alley. luck or something was with them, they didnt run into anybody. or no one was willing to tangle with them anymore.
the warehouse had no longer been in use. the place was empty and desolate, just like Neriah probably wanted it. the paint coating was worn, but some of the blue was seen on the grey stone. their were a few windows up high and small enough that only a very thin child could get thru. Inrii slowed as she neared, waiting for the ambush that was sure to come. she pulled out what look like a large needle from the hem of her spidersilk shirt.
"might have to pick the lock."
the wolf paused and waited as Inrii walked around to check the building.

Nodding he followed silently and watched her start checking the warehouse out" Careful, we're too close to the goal for something to happen and kill the fun." He whispered casually as he watched the streets and alleyways quietly.
