"Let's go find that boy!" the bard exclaimed, and just in case there was any doubt of the urgency, he pointed off toward the most likely direction and kicked lightly at Midnight's flanks from behind Zarae. They had hardly left the village out of sight after entering the woods than they soon discovered a fresh trail through the brush, bigger than any humanoid save a small giant might make.
"It must have gone that way," he said, though it was fairly obvious. "We don't have much time. Let's keep moving." Before long, they came to the entrance of a low, deep cave.

Within that cave was in fact the youngling, barely 5 years of age, but a near full-blown feast for the bug. Seeing the two dark-skinned elves take off in that direction, the Leecher leaped a solid 15 meters in that direction, but yet again, the clone managed to stop it dead.
Onix wasn't about to let the bug get away, not easily, anyways. Switching out his rifles, he brought out the railgun, took aim, and squeezed the trigger. Out came the hypersonic slug, which barreled into the bug at tremendous speed. Seeing the slug do nothing to the Leecher, the clone pulled out a HE fragmentation grenade, pulled the pin and lobbed in front of the bug's path. The resulting detonation shook the ground, and threw the bug a couple of meters back, leaving it stunned. Onix used this time to eject his current mag from the raligun and slam a new into the receiver.
Within the cave there were a number of cocoons wrapped up like a bug larvae, only they didn't hold spawn of the creature, they were it's food source. Within one of those cocoons, a faint sound could be heard, if one listened.

the young drowess slipped off Moonlight's back and made her way to the cave. the sounds were clear to her keep ears and she followed the echoes to the spot of the cries.
she drew a dagger while inspecting the wrapping before attempting to cut it to allow the person inside out.

The bard goes into the cave with Zarae, and stands guard while she cuts free whoever is inside the cocoon, sabers drawn and ready. After a moment, he begins to examine the rest of the small cave in case there are other victims to rescue.

At first the youngling is scared to no end; all he wants is out of this cocoon thing, and to get back to his mother. He again sends out a plea for help, but this time feels something latch onto the cocoon.
At first, he thinks its the monster (leecher), but then a dagger punches it's way into the cocoon. The material yields to the weapon, and the child sees two drow staring over him. He's not sure what to think.
The child had never really heard the menacing tales of the drow of the Underdark, but he knew what drow were.
He looked up to Zarae, and Lothir, and asked "where's my mommy?"

OOC: I'm bored, so I thought I'd continue here.... Hoping Zarae still remembers this one.
IC: The bard crouches down beside the boy, and holds out a hand. "It's alright- we'll take you back to your mother," he says soothingly. He smiles at the young child, and holds out his pendant, hoping the boy knows what it is. "See? Good guys. You're safe with us. Now, let's get out of here before that thing comes back. I've only got one spell that might hurt it, and I don't know what my weapons will do to it."
He waits for Zarae to follow as he leads the boy cautiously back out of hte cave.

((were we waiting on me? well i was gone all summer too...))
the rogue, young herself, wasnt sure how to react to the boy. she wasnt too sure what to do, before she spoke, Lothir answered. she tried to keep her countance warm and friendly as to not scar the boy, also showing him the sword pendent on the mithil chain as she reached under her piwafwi and pulled it out.
"i agree, lets move. I'll bring up the rear. worse comes to worse, I can shadowjump out of here."
snooping around and using a magical sight combind with her drow vision to see if anything or anyone was around. as they headed out, she followed behind, dagger still in hand.

((yesss, everyone's back, now this RP won't go down the drain, much like my other one did; though I'll try and keep it as interesting as possible))
The young elf looked at Lothir, then at the pendant that he flashed at the lad and let the bard lead him out of the cave. Much as he didn't know about drow, he DID know about Eilistraee and what she represented.
He looked up to Lothir as the bard walked out of the entrance
"Are you here to kill the monster, Dark Dancers?"
Right as the child asked his question, there was an unearthly roar off in the direction of his village.
Onix growled to himself as he crashed into a tree trunk, his heavy frame bending to near its max flexibility.
Getting up from his crashing experience, the clone unsheathed his twin vibro-katanas, and charged the Leecher as his weapons hummed with ultrasonic vibrations.

Zarae began to make her way out, but the slight bit of warmth from a cocoon caught her attention. she hurried over too it and cut open the wrapping. inside was a small kid looking person. she caught his body as he began to fall. he was still and cool to the touch. his eyes were in a state of fear and disbelief. she checked for a pulse and found none. there was little heat left of his body. more than likely, he had only recently died, overcome by whatever took his life.
she wasnt sure what to do. healing spells were out of her abilities. but the distant roar alerted her that she needed to get out there and help the boy.
((if u wanted something to happen inside, now's a good time.))

A flash of light lit up the buildings of the village, accompanied with a sound familiar to arcanists, a sound of portal opening. As the flash began to fade, the two figures appeared from the thin air, standing in the middle of the light.
Finally when it turned dark again, a female took a step to the side and squatted down, lowering herself on one knee, gazing around from beneath the red shawl, which she wore over her shoulders and head. She was clearly an elf, slender and athletic, her body was wiry, lightly muscled, betraying her agility. The short white cloth top was covering her chest and arms, leaving her midriff bare, so her toned belly was exposed. Her navel was pierced with a tiny ruby stud, the wide leather belt with sheathes - a rapier and a dagger - and pouches, mid-thigh long boots and dark brown pants were completing the picture.
Quickly Lynx looked around and then tilted her head back, gazing up to her companion. [i:vn4sjtzi]That sure does not look like Suzail, Ryltar[/i:vn4sjtzi]. The elf smirked, glancing about again, then straightened, her fingers resting upon the pommels of her weapons. [i:vn4sjtzi]And I am not sure that I like it here.[/i:vn4sjtzi]

A scowl could be heard from the brown cowled figure next to the elf, the mage brushing his hands against his pants and gripping the staff in his left hand. [i:10eg8gbh]Damnable scrolls. Should have known better than to use one of those in that Wild Magic area.[/i:10eg8gbh] The mage would pull back his hood a moment so he could get a better view of his surroundings, his ebon skin gleaming somewhat with sweat and his white locks hung to his shoulders. The piercing red orbs of his eyes would survey the area, narrowing with each passing moennt before he glanced over to Lynx. [i:10eg8gbh]Where in the nine are we? This doesn't look anything like Cormyr.[/i:10eg8gbh]

[i:dk04m041]Asking me? How in the world would I know?[/i:dk04m041] Lynx smirked again, knocking her shawl back as well, the shock of her golden tresses falling onto her teal eyes, which she narrowed a bit. The sun elf rolled her shoulders, stretching a bit. [i:dk04m041]Time to find somebody to ask, hmm?[/i:dk04m041]
[i:38y64h0c]Hmph.[/i:38y64h0c] The Drow grumbled a bit and peered about he strange landscape about him and began to to ask about he nearby villagers where they might be. His gaze would shfit back to Lynx, a scowl crossing his features. [i:38y64h0c]Seem's we're very far off from Cormyr, near the Sea of Fallen Stars, they say.[/i:38y64h0c]
Within the village, one of the townsfolk, a young half-elf named Eren, saw the portal open up and the two figures come through. Not even thinking about the drow that showed up, he ran up to the two.
"Excuse me; are two the ones that are with the odd fighter/ranger over there?"
He pointed out Onix, over off in the fields adjacent to the village, who had his hands full dealing with the creature. The village militia had started to gather by this point, their force massing near the fields edge.
It was fortunate for Zarae that she found the young lad dead in the condition he was; for right beside the young boy was one of the bug's earlier feasts, still wrapped up in it's cocoon. The heat given off from the wrapped up body was minimal, not perceivable by human eyes, but the infravision of a drow could detect the signatures, if one paid attention.
((OOC: whoever opens it up, just either PM me if ya wanna describe what's inside otherwise, I'll me describe))
Katanas humming with ultra-sonic fury, Onix barreled into the huge bug, slashing at it's abdomen. The Leecher, however, was not what Onix initially predicted it to be. With near super-human speed, it dodged the clone's slashes, jumping back a full 5 meters, then rushing the clone.
Two decades of grueling training kicked in as Onix dove forward and to the right, narrowly avoiding the oncoming bug.
Coming out of his roll, Onix had to duck as one of the massive bug's arms came right towards his helmeted face, aiming for a solid decapitation.
"Blast you, you stupid piece of SHIT!!!" he shouted at the Leecher, while he drew out his M92 HMG from his back, and unleashed a barrage of hellfire onto bug, the guns barrel lighting up like a dragons mouth.

))
Zarae noticed another one. she carefully pushed the body back in, closed his eyes and rewrapped it for a makeshift coffin. she hurried to another cocoon to check it out also, careful to cut the wrapping so as to not cut the person inside.
