Drakin looked at Aurora then to Veraka then back again, already figuring out what was most likely on Veraka's mind.

"If I'm going to the Drow encampment, then I'm going alone," said Drakin, he held up his hand to stall any forth coming retorts, "Not that I wouldn't appreciate the help," he said looking to Aurora, "but, I can get in easier by myself. The priestesses that they have will have a harder time telling that I am an enemy than they would her. And anyways, all I need is some charcoal and water to make my skin darker for a couple of hours to do this job."

Drakin turned and began walking away saying under his breath, just loud enough to be heard, "Though I won't like the company of these Dark Elves nearly as much as the last time, you're right about that. Too bad she tried to sacrifice me to Lolth, ah well, her loss."

With that he left the clinic to gather something, mostly poisons and weapons, and to change the hue of his skin slightly before he left.

Veraka wanted Aurora to accompany Drakin but wouldn't argue the point; the assassin was right, if anyone could get in without in, it would be him. Veraka nodded his consent to Drakin's plan.

[i:3gxoay3o]Alright, Aurora with me; we're going to have to hold off whatever drow elements make it here, and get these people to Ariali's location.[/i:3gxoay3o]

He proceeded to start helping the most injured of the clinic out of the building and to the far edge of the village, Aurora doing likewise.

[i:3gxoay3o]You do realize that you might be forced to release your other side in order to give these people a fighting chance,[/i:3gxoay3o] Aurora said to Veraka through their telepathic bound.

He had to stifle a laugh at the thought, "if it comes down to that, then I pity the dark elves that get in my way," he said with bit of sarcasm.

"Alright, then I'll make sure that everyone gets to the designated area, then give you a holler. As for the militia, last I heard, the leader was killed during the fight with the vamps and lycanthropes."

With that Veraka and Aurora started going through the the village, rounding up those that had not already headed off to the evac point. A few people now and then came up, armed with weapons and armor, obviously the some of the remains of the militia. Veraka directed them into a subtle, but firm defensive line.
[i:1t2to7gw]Aurora, I need you to lead the villagers through Ariali's portal; and before you start to argue your point of keeping an eye on me, I remind you that I've got our crazy blade-for-brains assassin to back me up should I get into trouble.[/i:1t2to7gw]

[i:1t2to7gw]Very well, though I don't like being separated from you for long[/i:1t2to7gw] she thought back to him, turning to lead the villagers to and through Ariali's portal.

The drow hunting party, led by Taberina, was closing in on it's target.
"I can sense it, the celestial is close, very close. . ." she let her sentence drift off, sensing something most interesting, "why, it appears that the higher planes one dwells among our targeted raid village, how amusing."

Drakin looked in the mirror, the paste that he applied to his face made his face as dark like a Drows. Only a close look would show for what he was. Gathering up the necessary gear, his Shotel and a couple of vials of potent poison, he left the abandoned house he was using and moved through the streets.

As he walked, staying in the shadows to keep out of sight of the paranoid villagers, who would most likely attack him on sight if they saw him like this, he saw Veraka and Ariali gathering up villagers to send to the evac point.

[i:3w2yeyw4]That's fine,[/i:3w2yeyw4] thought Drakin, [i:3w2yeyw4]at least I get the fun jobs.[/i:3w2yeyw4]

Smiling, he moved into the forest and out of sight of the village and deeper into the forest. Moving as silently as a shadow he moved. He heard them only a moment before he saw them. A Drow patrol. Hiding behind a tree, he had to smile at how Drow had more trouble seeing grades of light than that of heat, for he it wasn't a great hiding spot. But they past him without pausing, and he joined them from behind, only looking at him for a moment to make sure he was a Drow.

Drakin saw more patrols as they moved closer to the camp. The camp soon came into sight, though he first new he was their when he saw a Glabrezu walking in the Drows mists.

[i:3w2yeyw4]This maybe harder than I previously anticipated,[/i:3w2yeyw4] thought Drakin.

once everyone was ready, (and someone chosen to lead them?) Ariali went thru the motions and opened a portal. "quickly, I havent tested the time limit yet."
those who entered was about a mile away from the village, a good head start.

((Aurora will lead them through, I edited an earlier post to explain this))
[i:18cc1uz5]Ariali, I'll meet you on the other side[/i:18cc1uz5] the great winter wolf said to the Lythari; and with that proceeded to go through the portal, with quite a few injured on her back. The villagers followed suit, though it was a slow process.

Drakin hoped that Ariali had the portal about ready, when he got out of here he would need to move fast. Many of the commanding officers of the raiding party were poisoned, and would soon be dead, from a small needle that Drakin had poked them with. Drakin just couldn't get close enough to the priestess leading the group. She's a cunning one, surrounding herself with demons under her control and having her rations tested by slaves that they brought along. She also wouldn't allow any males to get near her.

Drakin only hoped that he had disrupted the chain of command enough to buy enough time for the villagers, and himself, to escape. He decided that there was nothing more he could do at the encampment, and decided it was time to try and get out.

Ariali held the portal, but the numerous people going thru and their slowness began to become a strain.
but she maintained it till they all got thru, then she herself went thru closing it. He paused a second to gain some energy(?) before attempting to open another one a further distance.
She went thru the motions and put all her effort into opening it to another village, [i:e6ok7qbt]several [/i:e6ok7qbt]miles away.
"again quickly, please," she called out. She hoped she could get back to those fighting before it was too late.

Aurora saw Ariali open up a second portal, and without hesitation, let out a loud howl and proceeded to get the village folk moving again, this time quite a bit more quickly, as she started to issue low yips and nudges to the folk.

Veraka and the what folk of the village who could fight, waited for the impending battle. Veraka noticed that many of warriors were nervous, some even shaking; he understood the feeling, but right now, the assimar needed these folks to concentrate on the battle at hand. So he whipped up a small, but very provocative 'protect your loved ones' speech. By the time he was finished, the fighters were ready, focused, and pumped; some were even to the point of truly pissed off.

[i:16h3q5la]Though anger is not the best weapon, it can be a very good sharpening stone[/i:16h3q5la] Veraka thought to himself, barely noticing the drow hunting party coming within visual range.

Taberina could sense the presence of higher planes blood within the immediate vicinity. She looked about to see the small group of fighters gathered near village square.
"How droll; both targets, one withing the other." She laughed manically at the scene, drawing both scared and curious glances from her underlings.
"Well, this will be fun, if not bloody fun," she said, drawing her katana and readying her whip.

When they were thru, she stepped thru.
"that should be a good enough distance."
talking to Aurora, I[i:f4llflrp]f I had tried before, I would teleport us both back to the others, but I am just learning to use it.But I will hurry back. [/i:f4llflrp]
Ariali vanished from sight and appeared near the scene. The people were ready and the raiding party coming.
She wondered if she could cast the moonbolt to someone's weapon for them to use...

Drakin could see the villagers in the distance, the group of Drow he was hiding in quickly approaching them. He knew that the villagers would be in trouble, the Drow brought two demons along for fun, one of them was the Glabrezu that Drakin had seen at the encampment.

He only had one chance, Drakin gripped the wand of banishment that his master had given him before he left. Too bad it only had a one time use, well there was time to lament on that later. He moved through the ranks of Drow soldiers eager for human blood.

Slowing his breathing, calming himself for the task ahead, Drakin made his way to the demon, and the priestesses and wizards controlling them. Glabrezu was his target, he only hopped that the banishment of him would stun the Drow long enough to get away.

He was at the demon's feet in a few moments. Drakin pulled out the wand, he uttered the command word and snapped the wand, releasing the energy inside. A shock wave swept out from the wand, but only the Glabrezu was affected, becoming engulfed in white flame. The Drow cried out in panic, and Drakin took the opportunity to run. He gutted a lower ranking Drow priestess that got in his way and ran to where he knew the villagers waited.

[i:2npx1z7q]At least reinforcements shouldn't be coming,[/i:2npx1z7q] he thought, remembering the Drow he poisoned at the main encampment.

Before she could react, Taberina saw her Glabrezu demon get banished back to the Abyss. She cursed the half-breed as he killed one of her priestesses.
"Kill them all", she shouted, "the celestial's mine, as is the half-whelp." With that, she, her party, and the remaining demon, a Babau, surged forward, eager for the spilling of blood.

What Veraka saw next both shook and amazed him. At first, when the drow party came into view, he was in shock at the sight of the two demons that accompanied them. Then, bright white flames erupted around the tanar'ri, sending it back to the dark Abyss.

He had to grin upon seeing Drakin, the one to banished the demon, come running out of the woodwork, giving a priestess a jab to the gut. However, that smirk quickly came off as the drow came charging in, one of them aiming a hand crossbow at Drakin's neck.

Without thinking, the aasimar bolted out and shoulder-charged the assassin, knocking him to the ground just as a he heard the clank of a crossbow bolt hitting his shield.
"Drakin, how many times do I have to save your ass," Veraka jokingly asked the half-drow. He had to leave the question at that, as the lead priestesses and remaining met him head on in a clash metal and claws.

He managed to push the demon away with a shield-bash, giving him room to work Marala Vharc into a wild stabbing frenzy, keeping the female drow on the defensive.

Ariali watched, ready to cast healing and such as she could help. She did attempt to cast the moonblade on Veraka's weapon, hoping it would do the trick.
She also sent moonbeams at the drow to blind and remove any spells of darkness. again many of the higher ranking we light in multicolored faerie fire so they could be easier to attack, especially should they try to disappear.
the magic use was beginning to drain her, however. the portal used much of it, and the continuing effort wasnt helping. soon she would be out of useful spells.

Drakin rolled as Veraka shoved him away. As he came back up he pulled out a tanto and buried it in a Drow's stomach. Drakin moved past the dying elf and brought up a hand crossbow that he took from the encampment, firing the only dart he had and hitting a wizard attempting to cast a spell.

He turned back towards Veraka, his weapon now alight with moonlight, and made his way towards him. As he did so he saw another Drow wizard making all too familiar movements that signaled he was going to cast a lightning bolt.

"Veraka, duck!" he yelled. Throwing a knife as he did so. Veraka turned towards the blade, his eyes widening and ducking just in time. The blade buried itself in the wizards throat.

Moving next to Veraka, he said, "I think this makes us even."
