Veraka gave the room a quick inspection; "I believe this will be quite fine, the only thing that I will want to know is when I can get to help training sessions along in the gym?"

"we split the 15 into age groups. with basic training and specific trainings. part start with classes; such as magic use, history and science lessons, even philosphy and religion. their are also training in survival, hunting, scouting, and of course, weapon use. part go there for these classes. You could start tomarrow, but I would spend a few days getting to know people and becoming part of the family. most are drow, so that may help them as well as you."
She turned to go then turned back, "if your hungry, there is always food availible. bwael v'dre."

Erelae walked twords the room Zarstra indicated to her to speak with the other guest.
--
Zarae, realizing she hadnt eaten head twords the kitchen with Shade. only 2 slaves were in there. It was odd, but she dint think mush of it, she had too many other things on her mind.
upon entering, she proceding directly to the cold room, meat storage, and took some rothe and a few bits of sauteed mushrooms.

Alylin passed the open door to see her youngest sister chatting with a large spider, the one their mother gave her. a scowl came over her, especially after their last conversation the two had.
She believed this rebellious and 'special' child was the cause of their house losing favor.
'Stupid girl. and your the reason for this. Yet Lloth favors you...'

Zarae sensed someone at the door, so her had was on the knife. then they left.

Aurora laid down and let Xaeraen and Volas play on her until they to were asleep; she then slipped into a much needed slumber herself.

"Hmm, though I'd prefer to begin immediately, I don' see the harm in your suggestion. Thank for everything," and with that Erelae left him to himself.

He set about getting he dye off of his skin; it didn't take long for the soap to work its wonder on the dye. Within about five minutes, Veraka could see that his tone had returned to its normal, though he did note that his skin had acquired a very slight tan to it.
"Odd," he commented to himself.
With that out of the way, Veraka opened up his pack and set about devouring the remainder of his rations, which wasn't much, but would satiate him for the time being.

Getting his bearings, Veraka made his way to the main gymnasium for a bit of practice. [i:2r5bhz24]Swinging Marala Vharc always calms me down, and keeps my head on straight.[/i:2r5bhz24]
He found the gym relatively easy; inside there wasn't much going on, a couple of drow sparring, [i:2r5bhz24]good, only a few eyes[/i:2r5bhz24] he thought to himself as he made his way past them, his shoulder length silver hair flowing past his head.

Putting his hair into a que, and drawing Marala Vharc, Veraka began with the most basic of maneuvers, lunging and thrusting his bastard sword, while using his shield as an offensive weapon. As his blade gained momentum, his mind succumbed to his memory, and, suddenly, the gym was a battlefield that he'd fought on years ago. He recalled all his moves perfectly, executing slashes, parries, thrusts and lunges. Marala Vharc danced a perfect beat to the rhythm of his heartbeat, slashing, stabbing and stabbing again until it became a blur of motion.

In complete control of his movements, Veraka lost all track of time as he cut through the enemies of his memory battlefield. His brow was starting to get drenched with sweat as his sword curved through the air.
Bits of electricity danced up and down his swords edge, turning Marala Vharc into a dancing lighting bolt. Minutes seemed to turn into hours as the dancing cyclone of lighting, slashing and parrying hacked its way through imaginary enemies. Veraka finished his last movement with a wide arc over-hand slash that left him kneeling, breathing rapidly, sweat pouring off of his head.
Only then did Veraka realize that the gym was no longer occupied by just the two drow that he'd first seen as he entered.

a few of the students had gathered to see this huge surfacer. then more who passed by the doors stopped to watch. they whispered among themselves; some good and amenable, some about his race and whatever he was.
'no humans dont get that large' one said.
'he looks like one'
'he fights well'

Mayae had followed Veraka twords the gym when Eva said she could sent her back via the portal.
"let me say good bye then."
she entered the gym to see the gathered folk and veraka practicing on the dummy, or what was left of it.
"you may fit right in then, she joked when he stopped and looked around.
"i came to say good bye for now, I must get back. I hope you find what you are looking for here."

Upon seeing Mayae enter the gym, Veraka's mood brightened. Upon hearing her comment, he couldn't help but laugh.
"It seems I draw more attention to myself than I'd like," he said as he made his to Mayae, not at all concerned at the flood of drow eyes that were upon him
"Well, I hope to see you soon to, as for here, well, I think there's much more that I've yet to learn, but for now, yes, I believe that I've got what I needed to be answered. As for now, I think that I'll start getting to know these folks," he said, indicating the crowd around him.
"Hope you make back in time, and goodbye for now, also," he said, waving a hand to emphasize his point.

"Hey, you're not human are you?" a young male drow asked from the crowd.
The storm warrior gave a hearty laugh, "No, my young friend, I'm what most call an aasimar."
The young drow seemed taken aback by the words that Veraka had just said; "you consider me a friend? and what's an aasimar?"

"Yes, I do consider you a friend, you've given me no reason to think otherwise," [i:309j6ijb]man, I'm gonna have one hell of time here, making friends is already a challenge[/i:309j6ijb], "and an aasimar is the descendant of a celestial being, meaning that I've got angelic blood flowing through my veins."

After that, he was bombarded with questions from every which way:
'What was the surface like for you?'
'Where do you hail from?'
'Were you a noble in you house?'
'How did you learn how to fight like what you just displayed?'
'Did you ever have to fight faeries on the surface?'; the stream of questions went on and on, however that did not deter the storm warrior; he didn't mind answering all the curiosity that was thrust upon him. He found it kind of refreshing.

Eva and Mayae exited the gym and headed down the corrider.
they entered the cavern of song then turned down a small corrider that lead to a secret door.
Eva knew exactly where the handle was and opened the door. they entered a medium sized square room.
the portal was twords the back. Eva waved the special key and the portal sprang to life.
Mayae was sent back to her small room in time for shift change.

Zarstra Helvighym returned from her business and hurried to her room to change. She slipped a white loose dress and a pair of leather (slippers?).
she started down the hall when she heard the comotion in one of the gyms. she quickly walked to see what the problem was.
occasionally, fights broke out; their were drow (for the most part) and many still had some of their old live's influence.
she entered to see the surfacer surrounded by the younglings asking questions.
she couldnt supress a giggle at it.
"now, dont bog him down. one at a time."

Veraka kept on answering, one question after another, though they just kept coming. Finally, a voice came in from behind the crowd of younglings, Zarstra, Erelae's eldest daughter, stood laughing gently at his little game of twenty questions.
"Aww, but come on, one more question, please?!" they all chided together; Veraka looked to Zarstra for confirmation, she didn't seem to mind altogether.
"Alright one more, but that's it."
They youngs ones erupted in one big series of 'YAYS!'
"So, what'll it be, hmm?"
He had to pick through a whole lot of 'me, me, me, me' to get one whom he thought hadn't got her question.
"Yes, you."
Everyone silenced as the female youngling spoke up, "Have you ever fought in any wars, and if you have, how did you survive?"

At this, Veraka felt something inside him stir, deep down, in the dark depths of his soul, the berserker wanted to answer that for him, showing them rather then tell them. His expression darkened as he fought with every once of his willpower to suppress the raging beast inside him, trying to keep it for another time, when it's power would truly be needed.
"Yes, I've fought in many wars, more than I care to count; how I survived," he paused, not knowing how to put it.

((spell checker not working right now, so expect alot of misspelled words...even microsoft word quit working so i cant type it there and transfer it.))

She walked in to stand among the group.
one of the younger girls spoke up and asked.
Zar looked to the aasimir. his countanance changed. his face displaying the mixed emotions.
she place a soft, and sword calloused hand on his armored(?) shoulder.
'by the Dark Maiden," she barely whispered to his self searching question, "to be here with these and experience this."
--
Zarae walked around the house compound. it was nearly time for the stone to show morning. soon the city would spring to life. her house would be still busy with plans, battle tatics and setting up defenses.
today was her last day with a 'normal' life, assuming it wasnt a lie.
would they survive? would their house be successful.
--
Matron Mae'Vir and X'larraz'et'soj planned to meet again.
they sat in the luxurious room across from each other.
"I proprose we strike tonight. Sourses say they may have discovered we are coming tomarrow. even now they plan their defenses."
"I see why you are still the first matron. very clever. and I like your thinking. but are your forces ready? can they move tonight?"
a wicked smile creep across the old matron's face. for she had planned this all along.

((FYI, I'm gonna have Veraka's arch-nemsis come in here and give some assistance to Matron Mae'Vir or Matron X'larraz'et'soj, if they want it.))

Veraka felt a soft touch come across his shoulder; he looked around his shoulder plate to see Zarstra behind him; his expression remained hard, but his look softened as he overheard what she whispered to him.
"How I survived all those wars; that's because the Dark Maiden assisted me on many occasions to get out of those situations," he said with finality, though in truth, he wasn't sure how he survived all of those battles, one after the other. [i:1rtrsst4]Perhaps it was the Elistraee that helped me through those times, I do recall that the berserker did not always come to my calling, and when it did, I wasn't in control of it.[/i:1rtrsst4]

The more and more he thought about it, the more he realized that there had been someone watching him in all of those countless battles he'd fought in.
"Maybe, just maybe," he said, barely audible just as some of the instructors came in the gym, and started to get the younglings in proper order.

"Why did I survive all of those battles, even when the whole opposing army and my own force had been completed annihilated, I survived. How, and more importantly, why?"

Out within the caverns that went passed Eastmyr, a shadowy figure stalked near the gates; though he would've loved to feast on some of the drow stationed there, Dacuda had more pressing matters at hand, and did not care to be seen at the moment.
The elite vampire pressed onward, cloaked by his own robes and magics.
He came upon the first house Lith My'athar, "So, this is the House Mae'Vir, interesting."
Dacuda jumped the gate, and cleared it with little effort. Going up to the main stairway to the entrance, the elite vamp was stopped by the house guards, "I need to speak with your Matron, Now!" he said with a commanding tone that had more power behind it than most would realize.

the guard activates his insignia and sends word to the matron.
after a bit the guard replies, "she will see you."
Matron Mae'Vir passed word to her guest as they walk out to the foyer(?) to greet it.
Mae'Vir is dressed in her most elaberate and fancy robes, if it can be called that. the neck line is purposly cut low, and two long slits reveal long shapely legs. Despite her ancient age, Mae'Vir looks as young as a novice priestress. but her beauty is more a dark suductive lust; the opposit of Lady Helvighym. on her belt hangs the famous snake headed whip. Seven snake head writh in agitation to her mood of being interupted by the male.
following behind her Matron X'larraz'et'soj, a less phyically attractive female with a more stout built, walks. Her house contols many of the bazaar shops, hince her position as thrid. something she plans to correct soon.
As she walked down and the vampire enters, she haulty speaks, "one such as your self is rather audacious male. I must remember to remove my ceiling archers when we are done."
--
The drowess looks (up to) Veraka in the eyes, "I think you know more than you realize. all the answers are there," implying his mind and heart.

"Good," the vampire said as he made his way into the house.
He didn't need to wait long, fortunately for both parties, as the matron mothers of the first and third houses made their way towards him.
As the mothers got within a few feet of him, Dacuda gave a low, but graceful bow; "Matron Mae'Vir, it has been a very long time since I have been in your presence," he regarded X'larraz'et'soj, "I'm not as familiar with the third house of the Lith My'athar, but nonetheless, I believe I've been acquainted with house before, though a bit more rarely as compared to House Mae'Vir. As to my audacity, I was in a haste to meet with the both of you, and dispensed with the formalities of door etiquette."

The elite undead straightened to his full height, an impressive 7'2 off the ground, and began, "but enough of the formalities; I've come here on account of a couple of facts. One, I believe that both of your houses are about to go to war with House Kilanatlar. I believe that I could be of use to either of you, particularly in hunting down the renegade or hidden nobles, should there be any left," he paused, allowing his offer to sink in.
"Before you ask, of how and from whom I've acquired this knowledge is one piece of intelligence that I will keep to myself. All that I require for my services is but one piece of information, which I will tell you only after you have agreed or not to my proposal."

Veraka heard Zarstra's comment about the answers being in him all the time.
"That may be, but they don't seem to want to come out and say 'Hi'," he joked, though not his best.
Shaking his head of the thoughts of his past life, he focused instead on the here and now.
Turning to Zarstra, "Is there anything that I can do to help out around here? I know that most, if not every class has an instructor, but there must be something that I can assist with."

Mae'Vir smirks, "yes, a very long time." she is carefule to not reveal to much to the other matron.
X'larraz'et'soj sneers at him as she crosses her arms. It was true. her position had not been established as long as some of the others.
"oh, you have found that tid-bit, have you. and why would you come seeking to help? what could you possible want so bad as to 'grovel' here and be involved in house politics?" Mae'Vir ask more retorically.
having him help wouldnt be to bad, and partnerships need only last as long as their useful.
playing the game more for show, "why would we want your help anyway male?"
--
"it will come. patience."
She thought for a minute. "mentors are always the most important. and being a surfacer, we have some non-drow who could use that. I dont supose your training is in arcane? our wizard has been busy with other business." she whispers so the younglings dont hear, "Priestess or priest are not the best for training in the arcane ways."

[i:1jdouwqe]Ah, the mind game; an excellent counter, she hasn't lost her touch I see, I always did enjoy mind-games[/i:1jdouwqe] he thought to himself, not bothering to show any outwardly appearance as to give away his thoughts.

"I have come across scraps of information that I've found useful; this particular one has its uses, as do they all," he said, methodically choosing his words; "it is also not a matter of what I want, but what my mistress and I want [b:1jdouwqe]eliminated[/b:1jdouwqe]."
He gave a simple, but very real grin, "why I would 'grovel' here, so to speak, is simple. You have a use for a hunter and assassin, just as I have a use for information that only the first matron mother could possibly have, or know about."
Dacuda had to mentally smile as he cast the dice at Mae'Vir's little game, [i:1jdouwqe]and now the matriarchal powers show themselves yet again; Lolth, I believe we'll be discussing this idea of yours later on[/i:1jdouwqe] he thought to himself, carefully making sure that his mental barriers were up and ready for any amount of probing that the two matron mothers might throw at him. If they did, all they'd find were his plans for right now.

"It is not a matter of wanting help, Matron Mae'Vir; it is just a matter of whether or not you'll willing accept help from my mistress; she is the one to which you would confide in if you wish to know more about my presence here," he said to both matron mothers, knowing full well what his mistress could, and would, do should he not find even the location of that bothersome aasimar.

Veraka thought for a moment about all his training.
"Most of my training revolved around mastering my weapon, turning it into an extension of my body and will; however, almost all of my magical training has revolved around either maximizing my assimar capabilities, and in focusing on offensive arcane magics."
He returns the whisper a moment later, "from what I can see, that's definitely the way to keep it."

((i hope i'm playing it ok. i stink at evil characters...so bare with it...))

that brung a small arch to her eyebrows, "oh, your mistress then." she crosses her arms standing as seductive as possible. it was a technique that worked well in stumbling or drawing out more information.
"I still dont see what benefit my house gets out of such an arrangement. or that I would lower my self to your use. but just out of curosity, I may speak with your mistress."
Mae'vir had a powerful scryig bowl and was always eager to use it.
--
"their may be a few who can benefit from your style of fighting. some do prefer the less suttle ways of stealth. tomarrow is their day off ((think weekend kinda thing)). but the day after that, show up when the 'day' begins. we'll have a place for you."
there was one older drowling who was a think build, muscular and strong. he listened quietly and a smile appeared on his face when Zar sugusted it. he was not made for stealth but seer power.
'i must see this surfacer before he leaves," he told himself.

((doin great, actually you're playing the role of a matron mother quite admirable, though I know it kinda sucks))

"As I have said before, my use to you is at your disposal, so to use me for whatever ends you intend, however do not underestimate my . .affiliation to Lolth herself, as my mistress has a [i:ecosu311]direct[/i:ecosu311] connection to the Spider Queen, so it would be . . . wise to at the very least, to consider my offer."
Dacuda had to mentally pat himself on the back; though, it was very true that his mistress was affiliated with Lolth, he just loved the expression that came over both matron mother's faces.

((I'll take on a student))
Veraka nodded his head to Zarstra, "I believe that that will be enough, as for now I'm not sure what to even do." He looked around, seeing all of the students whom began their studies with their instructors.
