The Sunstone Mask

[t:ubaupzy8]"Well as long as this does not bore you, I would love to continue riddling.I have a harder one for you, and longer as well.
Four wings I have, which swiftly mount on high,
On sturdy pinions, yet I never fly;
And though my body often moves around,
Upon the self-same spot I'm always found,
And, like a mother, who breaks her infant's bread,
I chew for man before he can be fed."

The young human nods apologetically, "Yes, of course... I am sorry.. I've seen too many people forced to 'work' in brothels, but thats no reason for me to jump to conclusions."
He stops to think a moment, one guantleted hand rising to tap his amulet idly. "I supose I could use a drink... Perhaps you could sugest one? I rarely drink, and as such have never really had the chance to taste many."
He pauses once again, running a hand through his hair as he gazes about the room again. "As for a companion.. Well, I would much appriciate some company, but just wouldn't feel right choosing anyone. "He pauses again, his hand reaching to scratch the back of his neck somewhat shyly, before asking; "Perhaps you could let some know I would enjoy some company, and if they wish it they could come and speak with me? I... er.. have no prefrence either way.." All throughout his last sentances his eyes didn't meet with the server's, clearly he isn't the most confident of people.

Selvik sits there for quite a while, rattling breathes going in and out. He sups some more water slowly. After several minutes of silence he says. "A windmill, though I must point out that they are usually referred to as sails. I must congratulate you on an excelletn riddle though, I shall have to think of a good one to rival that one."

"A lowd Tavern..." the cloaked woman muttered as her pitch black horse approached to the place "perfect for a drink and perhaps getting drunk"
She never got drunk before. She was very carefull about that, but she thought the situation she was passing was good enough to drink too much for the first time in her life and headed for the stables.
A kid there was taking care of the horses of the patrons in the tavern and when she went down she gave him a coin to take good care of hers.
"Give him water and food" she sayed, heading for the tavern, and opening the door as silently as she could she entered the tavern. She sighed and looked for a seat in the bar, looking around for someone to bring her a good mug of ale.
She walked slowly to the seat, her hips swaying from one side to the other in a very catlike and suggestive motion, but for her looks she's not doing it on purpose; perhaps is just her way. Her brown cloak, very tight to her body, and a little dirty for the long journey, had a hood covering her head, her face in shadows, although it cannot disimulate a single lock of white hair hanging from it over her chest.
"Inkeeper... red dwarven ale, please... a big mug and chicken with mashed potatoes, please" she sayed in a silky voice and waited.

*Looking inquizitively at Jasmine, the drow lady raised an eyebrow and continued, in a polite manner*
- I was hoping you could do more than that.
*By the wave of her hand, three bowls appeared all small in size. Floating above the one in the center a small ball of silver dropped into it. All three bowls along with the silver ball were turned upside down. At first they moved slowly, easy to follow. Then they gradualy started to get faster. After 15 seconds they stoped switching places, and no sound from the could be heard. She turned her gaze from the bowls, and with a mischievus smile she turned to Jasmine*
- See if oyu can find it. I'll give you a hint. It's where you least expect it. If you find htis boring, I have a few other tricks up my sleeve... *she smiled again, a bit more politely this time*
[i:3nbxl6oy]<...If you have the will, you can make her a Wis check (if she has one) to find it in the drow's hand. If, I repeat you want to

[t:3mapo5ra]The man with the tray smiles kindly at the young human male, obviously sensing his shyness.
[t:3mapo5ra]"I am certain that any of our available ladies and gentlemen would love to sit and chat with you.Do you have a preference for a specific gender?"
[t:3mapo5ra]At the bar, Akordia smiles at Nelvik.
[t:3mapo5ra]"Pray do, sir. I always enjoy a challenge, and i must say you are one of the most intelligent gentlemen I have had the pleasure of speaking with in some time."
[t:3mapo5ra]Also at the bar, one of the bartenders slids the cloaked woman her beverage, and sends an order out to the kitchens for her food.
[t:3mapo5ra]"If you would like a companion, lady,"
[t:3mapo5ra]"The bartender says,
[t:3mapo5ra]"Simply inquire of one of the gentlemen with the trays."
[t:3mapo5ra]By the fire, Jasmine watches the drow lady intently.
ooc..spot check failed.
[t:3mapo5ra]Jasmine laughs,
[t:3mapo5ra]"I can do such things myself, being a bard, but still I have no idea what happened to the ball. You must be far better than I.Oh, please, do another!"

The albino man shakes his head slightly, his voilet eyes flashing about the room, quickly glancing at all the employees of the tavern. "Well, perhaps male... But not by much, the company of either would be most welcome." He smiles again to the man with the tray, a little more confidently than before, obviously eased by the kind demeanor of the entire building and all within.
He shifts slightly on his chair, and releases the catch holding his guantlets to his arms, tugging them off and tucking them into the side of his belt as he leans back into the chair, perhaps attempting to seem more comfortable than he really is.

*The drow laughed at Jasmins comment of being better*
If you spent three days with the guy who though me everything I know, you'd be better then Mystra. The trick with the ball is easy, anyone can do it. Just yesterday I though a barbarian to do it. You just make a projection of the ball falling into the bowl, but the bowl never leaves you hand *she opened the palm of her hand, and the ball was there*You just imagine the ball there. But to fullfill your wish...*she looked around, and found the smoke from the fire place as a good way to deal with. She waved her hand, and the smoke cam to the table. Instead as a gaseous form on nothing, the smoke turned into an elf maiden with a greatword in both hands dancing* - Tell me, has anyone ever told you of the Dark Maiden? She is the goddess of dance, love, beatuy and song. She protects all those, who truly need it. She teaches us, her Maids, to enforce good, but not in the way of Paladins, but in a more less..how should I say...zealous...way. Our festivals, are mery, and filled with dance and song, and both the goddess and her followers carry a specail love for Bards. *She called some more smoke, now both from the fireplace, and from some of the patrons pipes. As with the dancing figure, it was no more shapeless, but now took the form of humans, elves and many others, who danced, sang and play they're instruments continuosly. She looked up to Jasmine and the figures vanished.* I've showed you what i can do. You said your self you're a bard, and magic isn't unkown to you. Show me what you can do. *Before anything else could be done, a small cloud of smoke appeared before jamines face. IT shaped itself into the form of a wine bottle, and where the label would be it sayed 'sweet' *

[t:ri2eh73k]The man with the tray smiled gently,
[t:ri2eh73k]"Many of our employees came here searching for the love and acceptance they could not find anywhere else.I am sure I know of someone perfect for you."
[t:ri2eh73k]He turned to live, then stopped.Reaching up slowly, he pulled his long hair away from his ears. You can see that the tips of his ears were cut off. He waits a moment so that you can see the damage done to him. Then pulls his hair back down over his ears and hurries towards a group of male entertainers sitting at a table. One of them, a pale man with golden hair, nods and gets up moving towards you.
[t:ri2eh73k]When he reaches the bar he sits beside you and offers a hand.
[t:ri2eh73k]"I am Kosef."
[t:ri2eh73k]The man sitting beside you is breathtakingly beautiful, although his beauty is far from adrogynous. He is muscular and strong in appearance, his golden hair is tied back , but several curls excape , serving to soften his strong features. His eyes are as gold as freshly minted coins.
[t:ri2eh73k]Also at the bar the bartender speaks to the young drow woman,
[t:ri2eh73k]"Everyone at the Sunstone mask is kind and understanding.Do you seek a male or a female?"
[t:ri2eh73k]At the fireplace Jasmine claps her hands with an almost childlike joy at the drow ladies newest trick.
[t:ri2eh73k]"That was wonderful, and yes, I have heard of the great lady Eilistraee. With lady Akordia working here almost everyone who passes through the doors hears of her. Lady Akordia is a devoted follower herself, perhaps when she is done speaking with the gentleman at the bar she will join us, or we can join her, if the gentleman does not mind. As for my tricks, I can do a few things."
[t:ri2eh73k]She stands up then and starts to sing. Her voice is so flawless and beautiful she needs no accompanance. You hear a flapping noise and something large bursts through the open window of the tavern. It streaks through the room and lands on Jasmines shoulder.Still singing softly Jasmine reaches up and strokes the great birds feathers. It is an owl, and an immense one.It wears no jesses and is , by all appearances a wild bird, but is hoots softly at her touch and seems to have its ear cocked to listen to Jasmines exquisite voice.
[t:ri2eh73k]She stops singing , but the bird stays, content it seems to remain where it is.
[t:ri2eh73k]"To answer what you are probably thinking,"
[t:ri2eh73k]Jasmine says softly, still stroking the bird,
[t:ri2eh73k]"Yes, it is wild, and I have never seen this one before. My voice always calls animals, all types of them, though no ranger or druid am I.It is a gift i have had since childhood and was a bane as well as a blessing in my adventuring days. You see the effects are temporary, eventually the animal realizes what is going on and flies away, as wild as ever."
[t:ri2eh73k]As she says this, the bird suddenly veers away from her looking panicked. It soars to the roof, its claws nicking Jasmines shoulder as it does so, then soars out the open window.
[t:ri2eh73k]"Ouch.."
[t:ri2eh73k]Jasmine says with a laugh, touching the scratch on her shoulder.
[t:ri2eh73k]"See what I mean by a bane and a blessing?"

*The drow lady can barely sustain a smile*
. Lucky you. You can call wild free, things with great grace and beauty...And as for me...*from the roof a tiny brown mouse fell into her hand*... mice seem to like me. You have a beautifull voice Jasmine, and I daresay better then mine. *the lady scratches the mouse behind the ears, and it seemed to like the attention.*

OOC: It's Selvik not Nelvik.
IC: "I doubt very much that they have had quite the selection of experiences I have had though, or the chance to gain the unique insights I have." He sits a moment, brooding on a suitable riddle. "It doesn't translate too well from the language I found this in but it should'nt sound too bad in common." He rasps, then intones;
"An eye I have, yet see not I.
No legs I have , yet wander I.
Rage I do, but never angry I
No arms to carry a whip, yet lash I."

The young man does not fail to notice the brutal cuts where the tips of the man's ears had been sawn off, and scowls at the image, yet clearly not directing his distaste at the server, but at whomever would have done such a thing.
He sits there, his arms crossed over his chest a moment, frowning still as he doubtlessly thinks on who would have sawn of the man's ears, yet his posture and smile quickly return as the golden-eye'd man steps up to him. He shakes the offered hand, in a suprisingly strong grip given his reasonably slim build.
"Well met, Kosef. I am Devante."
His left hand idly fiddles with the symbol of Helm hanging from his neck as he watches the other man for a moment, before he speaks up again.
"Thank you, for being willing to speak with me. I haven't had the chance for a decent conversation in weeks.."

Quietly the door to the tavern opens, a tall ( 5'5" btw) and seemingly lanky drow man walks. His darker robes show the paler aspect of his dark skin. His light blue eyes gaze around nervously. It would seem obvious that he doesn't get out much. Moving briskly to a table near the fire, and gestures to a bar maid as he sits.
ooc...sorry selvik...at least I was close..lol..

[t:1ns8365w]Akordia's eyes roll to the ceiling thoughtfully, before she looks back at you and states,
[t:1ns8365w]"Once again, you have heard many that I have not. I always relish the opportunity to learn new riddles though, and as I said, you are far brighter than most the gentlemen who come in here, who usually find it more a challenge to try and bed a follower of Eilistraee , or maybe its just becuase I am a drow. [t:1ns8365w]Also at the bar Kosef shakes Devantes hand,
[t:1ns8365w]"Well met, Devante, and I am more than willing to converse with you. It is not only my job, but my pleasure. Few people are given the oportunity to do what they love and get paid for it. I am fortunate. Before i came here I worked as a bodyguard and...companion... to a little queen in the far east. She was very young to have been crowned, and though she had many advisors she had few friends. I not only protected her but I also gave her the true companionship that she could find nowhere else. When she married , I fear that her husband was the jealous sort and had me sent away. [t:1ns8365w]The feline eyes the little mouse with a ravenous eye, and crouches down, tail whipping back and forth ready to pounce.
[t:1ns8365w]Jasmine starts to sing, her voice rising up, flawlessly towards the heavens , reverberating it seems in the rafters of the tavern. A glazed look crosses the eyes of the tabby and it moves closer to jasmine, rubbing its striped head on her chest and purring loudly, before dropping to its back, belly up and waiting to be rubbed.Still singing, Jasmine rubs the belly of the large cat with one hand, while with the other she points to the mouse and then you, then motions to you in a manner that indicates she wants you to get the mouse away.
