Looking for Ideas for a Player who is Half-Drow

Hi! First post here, thought this would be the perfect place to ask for advice considering my party has had a good bit of interaction with the followers of Eilistraee, with me as the DM.
if you're one of my players who happened to stumble upon this, get out lmao.
I'm running Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and have altered the third level a decent bit to include the Promenade being reclaimed, or more accurately, the Pit of Ghaunadaur with caves dug out nearby. I'm using information from the DM's Guild supplement Skullport: Shadows of Waterdeep.
In which it's described that only a few years ago (As of 1492 DR), after having been pushed back to where they are now, Qilue Veladorn sacrificed herself to buy time to reseal the Pit, diving into it and presumably dying in the process. Havent been able to find out how much of that is established Forgotten Realms canon, but it works out great for my game so that's what Im going with for my version of the realms.
The main driving force for the party delving into Undermountain is the character im making this post for, a Half-Drow Bladesinger who's looking for his sister. Who, in turn, is looking for their mother who left them on the surface with their father about 9-10 years prior, or at least looking for more information about her and why she left.
The main idea that I'm running with at the moment is the mother being Qilue under a different name, who according to the Forgotten Realms wiki did have a child at one point, so that may not be out of the question. The reason for her leaving being a forewarning from Eilistraee of the attack on the Promenade by the cultists of Ghaunadaur, which would result in the fallback to the Pit itself, and years later, Qilue's sacrifice.
I'm still open to other ideas if something better is suggested or comes to mind, especially considering the player is already suspecting this after meeting Iljrene, who's the current priestess leading the Promenade, as per the information in the supplement I'm using. But currently, the main thing I need help with is what clues I should leave for the player. What his sister would have found out, whether or not she could have made it down to Level 19 yet (Which is where the supplement says the pit leads down to, fitting as it's named the Caverns of Ooze) and if she would have even found anything there. None of these are things I have ideas for and Im kind of scrambling to figure something out, as the player just had the idea of casting a sending spell to his sister, and thats where we ended last session lmao. Anyone have any advice that can help me out here?
