I have been absent for an incredibly long time, this is due to my pc dieing on me and other things. Now it is college which the first semester is winding down. I missed all of you really.

I have a vexing problem I hope people can answer for me. Involving my character(being played on another site). How can a Male Drow, live for say five thousand years, and not show old age. I can see it by like (level 50+) magic, gaining special favor from a deity or the deity in which they serve. I'm trying to find a way to end someone's constant complaints, and figured here would be the best place to explore that.

Welcome back and sorry to hear about your computer problems.

As for the age; magic is always an easy answer. ;)

Wouldn't making a rakasha, be mildly a death sentance? I was thinking that.. wish, transcendance, magic ect ect. And thanks for the welcome back. I'll get back into nwn 2 shortly and get zek as close to his true level as possible. Rp wise... i was having him around in the 50's

Welcome back, I know how it feels, loosing a pc and all that. I'd say 5000 years is a bit... long. Well, divine interventions would be most obvious for me, cause let's not forget Gromph, who was very gifted, didn't have to sleep, was constantly young, and was 700 yo.

Well 1st Edition and IIRC 2nd had potions of longevity. Having a good supply of them clearly can extend life. Ed Greenwood has used this justification to explain why some characters are still alive during 3rd Edition, his theory being if they existed in the past and were unused that they could still be used in current edition.

As for any Drow showing age, it is my general understanding until the very late years signs of age are not visible.

5,000 years however is still extremely long for any elf under most edtions.
