An interesting find

Post by Arathen »

so, I was looking around for some information on various Eilistraee-related prestige classes my character could possibly take without having to, you know...be female *coughs*
Well, I stumbled across these. The first is from Champions of Valor, a series of substitution levels for fighter...the Darksong Knight

http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/ ... ong-knight

the other is also interesting...a fighter class variant that reflects the drow style of lighter, quicker combat, with a more Eilistraeean theme to it, titled Temple Guardian of Eilistraee.

personally, I like them both, and will most certainly be using them for my character in my home campaign.

As far as it goes, Silverhairknight had no gender restriction as canon.

As far as it goes, Ed Speaks is canon unless contridicted by later print, allowed males to be Clerics.

F&P appeared to contridict itself concerning if followers of the Dark Maiden could be rangers.

I knew Darksong Knight (Which is canon) and Temple Guardian (Which is fan based, non canon).

well, I'm aware that males can be clerics, according to Ed. I was speaking of prestige classes, and Sword Dancers have to be female. As for Silverhair Knight, it just didn't really fit my character, lol.

Interesting site; nice find. I'm not sure if they're allowed to post such explicit rules information regarding some of the official stuff (Darksong Knight replacement levels and the Sword Dancer prestige class the site also lists particularly), but I'm not complaining. ;)

As for the classes, I don't recall having seen the Temple Guardian before. But it's definitely interesting.

Also, you might want to consider that with the changes occurring within the Eilistraeen faith it's extremely likely that Sword Dancers will be able to be male as well pretty soon. Though personally I'm still waiting to see what the third book and 4E do to Eilistraee before adopting any such changes.

Anyway, again, nice find. :)
