Irennan,
I remember your post on Menzoberranzan City of Intrigue. Alot has changed with FR since then, but also, has not.
Welcome, Champion

Re: Hi!
Thank you <3
I'm still fond of the idea that should have been presented in that book, of Eilistraee and Vhaeraun becoming archfeys. Especially Eilistraee, because being an archfey would free her from many of the limitations that proper deities have when it comes to interacting with people, so it would allow her to do her thing better. Plus, well, I absolutely love fairies and fey in general, so having Eilistraee be a fairy of sorts in Forgotten Realms canon would have made me quite happy.
But that's sort of a moot point now, since all that stuff has been retconned, and the drow pantheon is back to its pre-Times of Troubles status (yes, even Zinzerana has returned to lurk in the shadows and sow chaos from there).

Re: Hi!
Zeky,
I brought this up with Irennan as it pertains to Mezoberranzan also thinking you might appreciate a little history.
Irennan,
Ah, back to the good old fruitless days then..I have to share a chuckle at that as I agree with your opinions on the matter, Irennan. Eilistraee as fey, she fits right in with the qualitues and concept. Vhaeraun doesn't seem very interesting or formidable. He'd have more to gain from being her arch fey.

Re: Hi!
Vhaeraun is really cool and interesting too, but I can see why he doesn't pique your interest, since the novelization doesn't really make him justice (he still he got it better than Eilistraee has in novels, since she's been the subject of a smear campaign from WotC themselves, as absured as that sounds). Let's just say that both twins were treated *really* badly by WotC, and many times it was on purpose, as the goal was to make them seem less valid and interesting in order to make Drizzt feel more special.
Anyhow, when I said that Vhaeraun wouldn't fit the archfey role as well as Eilistraee, I meant that he would likely far prefer to be a proper deity like he already is, because that would grant him more power. Eilistraee certainly wouldn't freely give up on power (that would be silly), but she also has a lot to gain from the freedom that comes with being an archfey, since her work is mostly focused on the ground, on helping the individual drow. Plus, an archfey Eilistraee would probably a really safe patroness choice for a warlock. Patrons always want something out of their warlocks: Eilistraee would be no exception, as she'd likely be giving you power because she thinks your cause is worthy and/or can help her and her people, but at least you can safely bet she isn't trying to pull up some trick on you, and doesn't want your soul or your firstborn, unlike most other warlock patrons

Re: Hi!
Thanks! Yeah, some of the armor in BG3 looks quite nice. You're able to change the color to a degree. I got a mod that adds colors of most of the D&D deities, and I'm using the Eilistraee one. BG3 might be easier on your fingers than BG2 was, since the combat is turn-based, rather than real-time with pause.Ssin'urn Streea wrote:Admirable. The armor is exquisitely crafted. I stopped playing after BG2. My hands have never been the same since.Well done.
Yeah, the Elder Scrolls games are great. I played Oblivion back in the day, though I didn't have any dark elves. I didn't even know dark elves were in that game, but in my defense the character designs weren't the best in Oblivion. lol It sounds like you have quite a few dark elf characters too. I should try playing other characters as well, rather than just dark elves. Maybe I'll try creating a Tiefling character because I do think they're pretty neat.Verlansia Arseaniamaen wrote:Zeky,
I was a big fan of the Elder Scrolls rpgs and played dark elf characters in those. I have also played table top rpgs and free-form writing, all dark elves, but not on here. I like being different characters so here I feel like I can explore that and still be close to the drow I love.![]()
Thanks! I suppose he did just have a satisfying adventure, or a couple. One of them might have involved a fighting a beholder. lolDrathiranon wrote:Lookin' good, Zeky! He looks like he just had a satisfying adventure!
Thanks! I do appreciate it. I'm still new to deeper lore of D&D and the Forgotten Realms. The history and such is quite interesting.Ssin'urn Streea wrote:Zeky,

Yeah! In Oblivion I did like the Fighters Guild storylines. Made me sad to lose a bunch of the npcs in the game.Zeky'rith wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 5:49 pm Yeah, the Elder Scrolls games are great. I had an awesome friend once who introduced me to Drow. They made a Tiefling character but we lost touch and I never got to find out what the Tiefling would be like.
Do they have different levels of the 9 hells bloodlines that guage their strength or power? Can some be good aligned if the bodily appearance is just a curse?
Re: Hi!
I figured I should probably update you folks on where I've been, just in case anyone was curious. I've been dealing with a IRL health issue, and haven't been feeling too good for the last while. Working on my character is kinda on hold at the moment. I probably won't be active here until the week after the upcoming one. I wish everyone well, and I'll see you when I see you!
