I think most people here know my feels on WOTC's 1st edition DMsGuild products, so I was curious if I was skilled enough to be able to recreate a page as accurately as possible using a font list I found and this was the results.

So... how did I do?
Also, I'm not sure if this is the appropriate thread for this or not.

I think you did pretty well. It's a shame that older books on the DMGuild have such a low quality.

Thanks, the modern Helvetica font isn't 100% the same as it was in the 80's (it was thicker then) so it makes it a bit tricky matching the original, but it is the same font. I have been tempted to ask WOTC if they are interested in hiring someone to restore all their old books into a proper good quality PDf, but knowing them they probably aren't.

I made some further alterations to make it even more accurate to the original, here is the links to the full page and a page comparison.

That looks really accurate. IMO, you could try asking WotC if they're interested in hiring you to improve the pdf of their older books. I don't think there's anything to lose, even though WotC people are pretty dismissing towards the work of those who came before them.

Thanks, still can't find a way to replicate the custom "1" font they had. I've been trying to literally draw the 1, but none of the scan I can find are high enough quality for me to get a good look. Strangely I've notice that the Avant Garde used for the text of the module description for the 1st and 2nd printing used the default Avant Garde 1, while the 3rd and 4th printing has the custom 1 font only italicized. I kind of want to learn how to make fonts now so I can make a TSR Avant Garde custom font.
That is one of the thing I hate the most of WOTC, they really hate D&D before their 3rd edition. I also got a feeling that they didn't save any of TSR backlog materials used in the older books creations.
