Ooh, Enya. One of my favorite artists. :)

Believe it or not I was actually listening to Enya when opening this post (and still am). Not that song directly, though that too is in my playlist.

Still, whenever I hear this song I always imagine her performing on stage and on the line "how can i keep from singing" some jackass in the audience calling out "yeah, that's what [i:16jzu0ia]we're[/i:16jzu0ia] wondering too!". :squint:

Anyway, very nice song. very... Eilistraeen. :D

I'm a miracle worker....Personaly, I prefer Enya then any other artists. The only one that doesn't scream....

And about the live perfomance-jackass thing? It swirls around my head every once in a while...

I like Enya too, though I only have her "A Day Without Rain" album. Nice song.

I just got a new Enya CD yesterday (Amarantine) and I found another Eilistraeeish song called [i:2hfzl3rn][b:2hfzl3rn]Long, long journey[/b:2hfzl3rn][/i:2hfzl3rn]. To me it possibly represents an Elistraeean drow's abandonment of lolth and departure from the underdark. I don't have a URL so you can listen to it, but if anyone else can find one? could they post it? It sounds very nice.[/color:2hfzl3rn]

I’m having some trouble finding that track as well, which is probably because it’s still very new. The album came out last Christmas if I’m not mistaken.

I’ve got the CD at home (haven’t converted it to mp3 yet oddly enough) and it is indeed very nice (like all of her songs really ;)). And yes, that song definitely has a certain Eilistraeen quality to it.

Anyway, here’s the lyrics so judge for yourself:

[quote:cd341p6d][b:cd341p6d]Long Long Journey Lyrics[/b:cd341p6d]

City lights shine on the harbour,
night has fallen down,
through the darkness
and the shadow
I will still go on.

Long, long journey
through the darkness,
long, long way to go;
but what are miles
across the ocean
to the heart that's coming home?

Where the road
runs through the valley,
where the river flows,
I will follow every highway
to the place I know.

Long, long journey
through the darkness,
long, long way to go;
but what are miles
across the ocean
to the heart that's coming home?

Long, long journey
out of nowhere,
long, long way to go;
but what are sighs
and what is sadness
to the heart that's coming home?

(repeat)[/quote:cd341p6d]
Beautiful. :)

BTW: In the song she only repeats those last 2 paragraphs. Not the whole song.

How can I keep from singing?

Post by Qhell~Velladorn »

I'm not really all that big a fan of Enya, but I'll admit, she has a few songs that I can relate with, and the one that Rooky linked on here is one of them, as well as the video that Ssin linked too. Sorry, most of my taste goes to metal and rock, with maybe a bit of hip hop in there.[/color:hcvsl6gf] :(

I enjoy a wide variety of music. Mostly metal, new age, and ambient. My favorites being, Queensryche, Megadeth, and Enigma.

I think this is one of the best videos made in it's time. (Megadeth's "Sweating Bullets," takes a few minutes to fully load)[/color:10yrtz6v]

Ican't help but to agree on the Megadeth video Ssin, but what I meant by metal was stuff like Exodus, Anthrax, Slayer, Death, and Deicide. Mostly speed metal, but Death or Black Metal as it's called now a days. BTW, I think I'll save that video to my favorites, both of them, since they were both really good.[/color:3cscjac6]
