More Than Just An Adventure

OOC: I kinda felt like making another RP, so ... here it is - and - No symbol of Llolth!!! XD - I know the name's kinda ... non-elfy, but ... I'm not really worried about that ^^

IC: She sat on the roots of an old oak, her arms bare despite the chill autmun wind that rushed at her every now and then. The tip of pointy ears peeked out from underneath layers of chocolate curls.
Charlotte opened the pages of a large tome, its pages yellowed with age, and its cover - once a deep blue - was now the palest of greys.
She seemed blissfully unaware of the fact that she was being watched - or she didn't care.
She sighed, flipping the pages of her book to one that she had marked. She brushed a stray strand of her hair away from her eyes before reading, her hand straying to a pendant carved out of ivory - a pendant of her goddess.

OOC: Possibly a little unfair, please tell me if this isn't allowed.

IC: The leaves of the tree rustle slightly as it shifts as she leans against it.

"What'cha reading?" Comes a voice from its trunk.

OOC: How would it be unfair?
IC: She starts, jumping up and letting the book fall to the ground. She looks at the tree, cursing under her breath and rubbing her temples.
"Wh-who?"

OOC: Well you might be vaguely attached to your oak tree XD

IC: "Me." Says the voice as the tree shifts again and a bunch of leaves separate to reveal a face. "And would you mind moving a little bit? You're putting a cramp in my roots!"

OOC: do you mean "linked" as in a dryad? Bhaern is right - she's just a normal elf ^^
IC: Jumps up, falling back in her haste to get off of the tree. Her dark hair fell over her eyes, furthur blinding her so that she hit the tree head-first. She finally managed to move away from the tree, blushing slightly.
"Forgive me! I kn-knew not ..."

OOC: Just forget I said anything.

IC: "Ahh its fine, just ask next time." Replies the tree moving a branch to help her get up. "Tsk, elves today just don't respect trees like they used to." It starts grumbling. "So anyway, what'cha reading?"

She gets up, nodding thankfully to the tree, looking back down to the book, smiling slightly. "'Tis nothing ... just something I picked up from a friend ..."
She shows the book to the tree, the name in a beautiful golden script. [i:dm9zbpiw] Lore of Faerun [/i:dm9zbpiw], it read clearly. "It's very interesting ..."

"Let's have a look at that." The tree says and, shaking itself, uproots itself and reachs out a branch to take the book, flicking through the pages with a leaf. "Looks good, I think I've read most of it though."

Smiles, watching the tree. She brushes away a stray strand of hair and looks back to the book, biting her lip hard so she wouldn't laugh. A small stream of blood dribbled down her lip.
"Have you really? Everything? This very book?"

OOC: I'm presuming that you AREN'T 982+ Different D&D settings had elves immortal or just very old.

IC: "When you're nine hundred and eighty two then you will have read a lot too!" The tree replies, sounding crochety.

"Young whipper snappers. Don't know how to treat their elders."

OOC: nay, she isn't
IC: Laughs, "I've a far way till I get there ... no offense, of course"
She checks a smirk as she hears the tree mutter at her.

"So what's your name young elf?" The tree asks curiously. "I am called - mm - Broadbeam in the common tongue, or *insert very long sound like gargling grit* in the tongue of the forest." It snakes a root away towards a nearby stream.

She bows respectfully, "'Tis a pleasure to meet you, Broadbeam ... I am known as ... Charlotte, or Char"
Watches, utterly fascinated by the root.

"And a pleasure to meet such a well spoken young elf. I haven't had many people to talk to for a long time. Not since ol' Silverbark was hewn by orcs *long string of treeish swear words and curses* curse and crush them!" Broadbeam replies, his branches shaking and quivering as his wrath rises, sending small animals and birds fleeing from their reaches.

Her eyes widen, at his story of Silverbark's fate. Though she knew not what Broadbeam was saying, her thoughts echoed the meanings, her fists were clenched and shaking in anger.
"How could they do such a thing?"
