Grabbing her extended hand securely, he helped Zilvtree up to the saddle, then set the stud to a gallop, sending the nearby towns people scattering. He made a turn, then another one, and then another, finally arriving at the stables, a place that smelled of urine, manure, sweat, and hay. He pulled up on the reigns, stopping his horse(let's call him Shadow, he is black after all) right next to the entrance, and waited for Zilvtree to dismount.

the motions of the mount were jerky and bumpy to her compared to the smooth darting motions of a lizard.
getting off was simple, the same principle as before and dismounted gracefully. off, she straightened her clothing and double checked her disguise. she then headed twords the new stable. coughing the smells that assaulted her, she pulled up part of her piwafwi to cover her nose.

Inside was a gruff looking tanned human male, his clothing dingy and face caked with dust and dirt. As she walked over, he was picking something out of his teeth. He too smelled like he slept in the barn. and had prolly in truth been sleep on that stool shortly before hearing Drithor's horse.
Seeing the beautiful elven woman, she stood up, spit into his hand and ran it thru his stringy brown hair to greet her. Zilvtree ignored him. he was insulted but remained quiet. His eyes watched her movements captivated by her as if struck with a spell. the disguised drowess ignored the filthy human and walked down the aisle to view the mounts in the stall.
first a palimino gelding resting on the hay. arcoss a bay. beside that a buckskin mare. beside the palimino a white arabian gelding. twords the back a black and white paint mare.
this one caught her eye, the horse standing at the door, his nose nuzzling her outstretched hand. it was soft and fuzzy, different than the spiders that filled their house or the cave rats kept in the torture room.

Walking in after the drowess, Drithor looked around and saw all of the horses. She held up a hand to the black and white mare near the front.
I'm gonna need a saddle and tack for the lady there.[/color:28qhx1fu] he said in the direction of the man, watching for how the mare would react to her. Not suprisingly, she simply nuzzeled up against her hand. I'm also gonna need for you to take that one out to the pasture for the lady to ride once before we buy her.[/color:28qhx1fu] The man nodded and scurried off, his gaze switching between the beautiful elfen maiden in front of him, and the deadly looking elfen man off to the side.
You should hurry this up.[/color:28qhx1fu] Birdo yelled down from the roof. Apparently the bartender decided he wanted more gems, cause the town gaurds are coming.[/color:28qhx1fu]
Well, m'Lady, we're going to have to cut out the pasture. STABLEMASTER, WE NEED THAT TACK AND SADDLE, NOW![/color:28qhx1fu] he pulled out some gold and handed it to the man when he ran back in with the equipment. Do ya want me help in gettin' the saddle and like on 'er, m'lord, m'lady?[/color:28qhx1fu]
Drithor looked at Zilvtree. Your horse, your call.[/color:28qhx1fu]

when the mare was saddled and bridled, she stepped her foot into the stirrup and swung her leg over. the horse was taller than lizards and she hid her nervousness well. taking the reigns, she held her breath and willed the horse to move. at first it did nothing just looked back to the approaching noises. thinking, she click, tapped its head, and eventually found that touching her side made the mare move.
clinging to the saddle horn and main on the whithers, she squeezed her legs to keep her balance as the horse began to trot. in a direction. the bumpy ride rather uncomfortable and she wasnt sure where she was going, hoping he knew where to go.

This way[/color:12unrqh7] the drow shouted as he turned the cornor on the stud. Try to keep me in sight. Birdo, make yourself useful and keep an eye on the guards, will ya?[/color:12unrqh7] The bird nodded and flew off. With that, Drithor kicked his horses sides and hoped that Zilvtree would have enough sense to copy him. Left, right, left, alley. [i:12unrqh7]Woah! Don't go that way, there are more guards down there.[/i:12unrqh7] Birdo screeched in Drithors mind several times. When at last he cleared the edge of the town, he turned to see if Zilvtree was still behind him.

with a rough start, Zilvtree followed. she managed to remain on the horse, nearly sliding off on turns in their zig zagging. soon she got the hang of it, managing to control the horse on her own well even as it picked up speed.
Soon she was keeping up with no problems as the left the town behind.

Seeing that she was indeed still behind him, he guided Shadow into the forest and followed a path that he knew well, a path that only he knew. He stopped after about a mile, and dismounted, listening to see if the guards still had their trail. Hearing nothing, he tied up the stud, leaving enough room for him to graze, and started to silently collect wood while waiting for Birdo and Zilvtree to get there. Hopefully, Birdo was doing the right thing and guiding the drowess to this area.

"why have we stopped. we need to travel while it is still dark," remaining on the mare as she rode up. unless they were going underground, then she would not travel, could not, during daylight.

I'm sorry, m'Lady. I long ago acclimated to the light. There is a system of tunnels about two miles north that lead through the mountains towards a grouping of ruins that the duergan told me to meet them at. They are large enough for us to ride the horses through. We can even reach them before daybreak.[/color:1af1ssul] Having said that, Drithor dropped the wood he was collecting, untied Shadow, avoided his bite, and then pulled himself up and kicked him into a canter and waved Birdo down. The raven flew from the branch and landed on his shoulder. Be on a look out for the gaurds, I don't want to have to kill anyone else tonight.[/color:1af1ssul] he whispered to the bird, who nodded slightly and then flew off.
So, any idea as to why the gaurds might have come after us? It couldn't be the fight, nobody stayed dead, and I payed the barkeep for the damage. He's been an honest man for as long as I've known him, so I don't think Birdo was right in that he wanted more of the gems.[/color:1af1ssul] he asked of Zilvtree, always looking around to see if anything was moving in the dark.

"good enough," not realizing how sore she would be from riding. all she was thinking was to avoid the sun. she had done a rather good job so far. of course she had been stuck to caves and holes in the ground when a town was not close while she wondered clueless across the land.
she let her magical disguise vanish and she returned to her ebony color that marked her race. had she not magically altered her hair the snowy locks would have further confirmed it.
She looked confused by his question. he'd been up here longer. But it crossed her mind that he maybe just wanted to talk? having been along for so long, it was strange.
"I would guess that maybe they saw thru one of our disguises?" she replied still trying to maintain balance. "I must say lizards are better mounts."

I suppose that makes sense. Speaking of which,[/color:106mf6pi] Drithor slipped off the simple gold band that was on the middle finger of his left hand and replaced it with one of engraved silver. Thats so much better. We will not need these again for quite awhile. The dwarves know that I am a drow, and we won't me-[/color:106mf6pi]
Sorry to interrupt, but there is a party of drow about sixty yards in front of you, Birdo cawed as he swooped down on Drithors saddle horn, Abd their heading right for you.[/color:106mf6pi]
The drow stopped his horse and hopped off, then started stripping and stuffing his clothes into the bag at his hip. When that was done, he pulled out the armor typicaly worn by a drow warrior and started putting it on. All this while, he was talking to Zilvtree, saying Alright, I am going to be a simple warrior escorting a priestess on the surface. You will have to figure out a story to tell the drow when they get here as to why you are on the surface.[/color:106mf6pi]

((sorry. was without power due to major storms yesterday and with school starting back tomarrow, will not be posting as often as now.))

technically being female and a priestess, she did not have to give whoever an excuse. then a thought crossed her mind. what if it was a group of heritics? followers of one of the Spider Queen's kids? if that was the case, this would not go so well thats for sure. the vivid and long ago memory of her torturing an Eilistraeen brutally, as her job had required.
Knowing how to play the part well, Zilvtree sat up straighter, as she already gave the impression of a powerful and proud noble priestess.
She pulled back lightly on the reigns to slow the mare. Normally she would prepare to cast spell, but now she had to rely on other skills.
Her hand went to the hilt of her weapon discretely, her muscles tense and ready in a moments notice.

Nightmare was coming to reality.

The last thing girl expected is party of drow on surface. Now it was too late to complain: chained and collared, half-drow moved after warparty of fit, silent warriors fast enough to avoid occasional prodding with spear or rapier.
If only she took better place for sleep.
Now it was nearly tenday from long march to the caves. Having only moldy dirty rags with bloodstains on her frail form, woman did not get any rest from her captors. She had no time to work her binds as usually. She had nothing to do it with. And weapons were too far away, away, in the backpack of one soldier. Whenever camp was set, they took their time to make sure that their captive would get no sleep. So far it came only to beatings.
It looked hopeless. Despair was slowly coming apparent on the scared grey face. And the drow enjoyed it profoundly.

Climbing back up on Shadow, Drithor backed him up till he was slightly behind and to the left of Zilvtree. Peering into the darkness, Drithor saw the party that Birdo had mentioned. It was about ten to fifteen strong, slightly smaller than any attack party usually sent to the surface, which ment they had come to track someone down. His first thought was that they had come for Zlivtree, or even worse, him. But it had been four hundred years, why would they even believe him to be alive?
Birdo, do you see anyone who looks to be a captive?[/color:2ttaglit] he thought to the raven. [i:2ttaglit]Yes, there is a female in the center, wearing bloodstained rags and being prodded with spears. I thought your kind worshipped the females.[/i:2ttaglit] We do. I wonder why they would treat her like that?[/color:2ttaglit]
There is a female in the center of the group. Birdo believes her to be a captive. Be careful.[/color:2ttaglit] Drithor whispered to Zilvtree, slipping off the stud again and drawing his blades. He stood at the side of her mare and waited.

((Sorry, I read it at 4 in the morning, and my mind was just like bleh. Then I kept forgetting about it.))
