Skrach flicks his ears and shakes his head, unable to figure out if he's supposed to fight or stop fighting, growling and grumbling in annoyance, "Skrach is not caring! Fight! Not fight! Skrach wants allies of Entreri to pay for death of Rassiter and other friends, then get out of stinking Underdark. No place for Skrach in Calimport anymore, maybe go back trying to find where he is from." Still, surrounded by these remaining Driders, he keeps his weapons at the ready, "If white drow is letting us go, Skrach says we should go." Apparently he has attached himself to this party of adventurers from the surface, without even asking. Though judging by references to Calimport and familiarity with one of its most known leaders of the Wererat Thieves' Guild, that rules the Calimport sewers, Skrach does not belong staying in Underdark anyway.

(since Zar's attempt at stopping and getting the group to go on werent successful or didnt do anything...and i dont know if a response was planned, so anyway)

None had heard her speak to the group, or they chose not to ignore the rogue, and so made herself slip to the outside of the crowd and wait, keeping her eye on the albino. She had seen on before, her city had one for a short period of time during one of the festivals.
discretely, she reached into one of the pockets on the belt, her hand reaching around the vial and waited to see how this would go.

Sighing at the peculiar turn this mess has taken, the bard looks to the rat-man, and nods. "Agreed. You are free to join us if you wish. It might prove interesting to have one of your kind around. Just understand that we are going into Menzoberranzan, and it may become dangerous very quickly." He turns back to the drider queen. "Jabbress, my apologies for your losses, and we'll not harm your children. After all, helping children was the reason for this venture in the first place. May the gods have mercy on you."

He bows, and strides over to thump on Onix's barrier, pushing it further from the drider. "Come on, hot-head- let's go before things get any worse. We still have a mission to perform, yes?" He says, and glances around at the rest of the group. "Evreyone- move out! We should leave these pitiful creatures to pick up what is left of their lives." He glances back at the drider priestess, and shudders, but shakes his head and waves everyone toward the entrance. But he stops to stare suspiciously at the white drow and the other stranger, clearly wondering why they are here.

After a moment, the drider priestess, looks uncertainly down at the trio huddled beneath her legs, and then back at the group. The gnome has parked himself near the entrance, watching closely for any sign of treachery. "Wait!" she says, suddenly. "What did you mean? Why are you here? What does helping children have to do with us?" She seems almost hopeful, but still wary. "We have only a few, but they are all we have. The one hope of our survival. The Spider Queen has blessed us, but we do not know why!"

The bard considers, then finally approaches her again. weapons still in hand. "We are a troupe of merchants and entertainers, going to Menzoberranzan to ply our trades. But we are also seeking torecruit those whom the drow find worthless or useless- the beggars, the outcast, the orphans of fallen Houses. Many of these are children, are they not?" He waits to see if anyone else has something to add.

All these surfacers in agreement of leaving, Silinrul dismisses his spell, lifting the spherical barrier, but not without already having decided what shall be his next spell, should Onix try to retaliate. Still he remains watching the scene unfolding, waiting for these outsiders to leave, and of course eavesdropping on the details of their visit, silently gathering the crucial details in his mind. A part of him wishing to let them succeed at their mission, but if he betrayed Kimmuriel and Bregan D'aerthe now, his youngest sister might not be spared as agreed upon, and his recruitment may never happen. So he resolves in the end, to listen to these people declare their plans so recklessly in earshot of someone from Menzoberranzan, so that he may report back to the psionicist. As it is, there's little doubt in his mind, that the information could be forcibly extracted. It remains an amusing scene for him, for the time being.

Forming his thoughts deliberately, focusing solely on pertinent information, he experiments to see how closely Kimmuriel is monitoring him, mentally trying to ask if the plans of these people make them enemy, or ally; friend, or foe. Should he attack them, observe them, or perhaps even help then?

Onix, fuming at the fact that he had been outwitted by a new-combatant, looked to Lothir, anger in his eyes, and nodded his head, knowing that drawing weapons at this point would be futile.
It was when that invisible barrier around him disappeared that Onix let out a slight sigh, but at the same time looked around and kept his eyes alert looking for him.

Onix then raises his own voice to reinforce Lothir's; "how many drowlings are sacrificed to Underdark and it's hostiles? How many are down-trodden simply because they are in the way of a city's underbelly, and can't fend for themselves? Too many; like my bard friend said, we're here to see that doesn't happen to them."

"And on that note, I'd say it is time to move out. We still have a way to go to reach the city, and the path ahead of us will be dangerous. Are we all agreed to leave these creatures in peace, then?" The young bard asks, and he seems to hint that any others who wish to join are welcome.

Rare enough are the days when Skrach would want to turn his back on anything Drow, Driders included, but rarer still is him to agree to accompany a Drow, and yet, as the bard speaks, Skrach raises his slender, glove-clad right hand, whilst nodding almost emphatically, "Skrach is very much agreeing! We is goin' in peace and finding way to city, then back to blue skies. You gets Skrach back to surface, he pays well!" What could a rat of such poor vocabulary and verbal grammar, and addled mind possibly have to offer as payment? Perhaps it is a collection of relatively worthless baubles, but the promise has been made.

Elsewhere- The sound of boots clicking on the stone floor approaches, and a sigh escapes a figure bent over a scrying crystal. Wonderful. The head of Breagan D'earth enters the small room, long bright-colored cloak glittering and swirling around him. He gives the customary bow and the plume from his hat sweeps low, tickling the ear of the silent watcher. He ignores it.

"So, how is our little band of would-be heroes doing? I can't WAIT to see how they fare here in the city. Should stir things up a bit, no?"

"Naturally. May I ask why the sudden interest? Particularly in a bunch of worthless outcasts and heretics. I never knew revolutionary groups were your thing." Replies the seated drow.

"Ah! You know me- chaos for chaos's sake. Besides, they might prove useful."

"Let us hope so. I'd hate to think we sent that prospect on a fool's errand. Still, at least he DID learn the location of that drider nest. Your plans?"

"Leave them be for now. I might contact them later to work out a deal, but for now, I think I'd like to study them."

"Agreed. This development is highly worth checking into further."

"Carry on, Kim. I'll be in touch!" The long cloak swirls as he turns to leave, and he chuckles softly. "And don't forget to have the city guards welcome our guests!"

For awhile longer, Vailintin keeps his vantage point, high above the nest floor, where he is safest, little does he know how many more persons haven taken interest in these events, the secret of his presence, and perhaps activities, in Underdark are not likely to remain a secret much longer, should a nosy psion and his flamboyant leader take any interest in this pet assassin who has often passed himself off as Drow, almost without anyone alive knowing his true identity. Still, as the events below are unfolding, the opportunist in him, is finding ways to make this little unauthorized adventure worthy of pardoning his acting without orders. His mistress and sponsor would learn what he has, of the Driders, these 'travelers' and the strange pale Drow.

As heroes below agree to depart in peace, he secures the rope he had dangled down for the remaining Drider and her children to use for escape, before once more activating the Darklight power on his ring, and beginning to slip away through the caverns and route he came by. A thorn in someone's side, he is bound to be, unless intercepted before he can report back. As an assassin, or a swordsman, he is no Entreri by any means. But still dangerous enough for the run-of-the-mill Drow Fighter, preventing his report may require a lot of force, or the personal attention of someone with superior skill.

No response... none that could be discerned anyway. A fool's errand? Not really, but this is all turning out to feel like a waste of his talents, a couple flashy spells, and nothing more done, neither blade drawn, and of course, there is that sense of disappointment, having expected mundane Driders, better off slaughtered one and all. However small, for him it would have satisfied that rebellious spark in him. His new 'family' he had no desire to betray, or spite. The true target of his spite remaining as yet, unrealized, the lost pleasure from this errand, comes in letting anything with eight legs survive the encounter.

Alas, without instruction, Silinrul realizes, the scope of his orders was only to investigate. He is not here as a city patrol, nor does he imagine himself able to guess the plans of the psionicist, or the strange leader of Breagan D'earthe, whom he'd only heard of in rumors, many of which made him to sound like some sort of phantom whose very existence is easily dismissed, as utter nonsense. As heroes begin departing the nest, so too does he begin to go, giving Iejir a silent nudge, to watch behind him, as he goes,in order to alert him to any attacks from behind. Once returned to the tunnels which he'd come to this place by, with a low, calm voice, he speaks into the darkness, "We are ready to return. That is, unless you wish us to return to the nest and slay the remaining Driders."

As the group leaves, the little old gnome glances up at the stranger who interferred in the battle- to what end he doesn't yet know, but he intends to find out. Thankfully, he has bthe means to do so. Chuckling to himself, the bespectacled wizard mutters a soft incantation, making a few gestures as if holding something within his hands. A moment later, a small object floats up and zooms after the disappearing stranger, staying high and several yards behind to avoid detection. As the rest of the party departs, he toddles up to the young bard, and tugs at his cloak to get his attention. He motions him to bend down, then whispers something in his ear. The drow nods, glancing back toward the cavern with a concerned look for a moment. Then they continue on.

Sil starts to follow the group, when a voice in his mind makes him pause. "You have done well so far. Now that we know the number and location of the driders, we can keep an eye on them. It's fortunate that your companions did not destroy them all, for we may find a use for them later. For now, stay close to these outsiders, and watch them closely. We will be keeping an eye on you, of course." The voice is that of the psion, and there is a slight undertone of threat if he should consider betraying his new employers.

All the many years of training, and education as a member of Lolthite society, as well as that of the societies he would be intended to infiltrate as a saboteur, and at the notion of these outsiders being his 'companions' and for that matter traveling WITH them, Sil's first thought was instinctually appropriate for his upbringing, one of disgust and displeasure, mentally questioning how these people were his 'companions', much less why he shouldn't harm them. His education was clear, they're the enemy, and their purpose an affront to Lolth. However, hardly a novice to the game of seeing advantages where others might not, these people could legitimize his desire to leave behind this life of being inferior to those who may even be of lesser ability, simply by the random luck of being born male, a matter he had little choice in. In that moment between thinking to question the order, and seeing how these outsiders may be useful, his thoughts less than guarded, he could be found to be not as willing a pawn of Lolth as his instructors and family thought.

Iejir, picking up on the thoughts upsetting his master, is less reserved and thoughtful before blurting out, "WHAT?! He wants us to travel with... with... urrrk!"[/color:2dlk1b7m] Too late to stop Iejir, likely from offending the watchful psion, Silinrul snatches the imp off his shoulder, by the neck no less, angrily growling, "Venorsh! Ka dos z'klaen mai bauth ussta ssiggrins, tril dosst ooble'hwuen p'luin Usstan telanth, dkinoss Dorn edru ol ulu natha reibe!"[/color:2dlk1b7m] Doubtless his new 'companions' may overhear most if not all of this, and while some may be shocked at the 'abuse' of his familiar, any aware of the nature of the creature, among the lowest form of Baatezu, it might come as little surprise that such extreme measures become necessary to keep the mouthy familiar from getting them both in trouble. The fist-strangle throat gulps with much effort, and unable to form a spoken word, Iejir nods to signal his submission and obedience, earning his throat released, and a freedom to return to his usual perch on that shoulder.

No longer to go separate ways from these outsiders, Silinrul turns about, and utilizes one of the more common enchantments on House Insignia, levitation, to leap, in a floating jump from his entry-point into the nest, and a graceful touch-down a short distance aside from Lothir, "It seems, my employer thinks you deserve an escort. I don't expect you to trust me, I'd think you all fools if you did. But, with me as your escort, you should have less difficulty getting past the gates."[/color:2dlk1b7m] Like it or not, he's attaching himself to this group, per orders.

Startled by the sudden and very close-quarters return of that strange pale Drow, Skrach yelps and dodges aside, bearing teeth, raising hackles he maneuvers off to the opposite side of Lothir, glaring at Silinrul with a venomous, menacing look, then pleads to the bard, "You sure this is good idea? Skrach is thinking he is spy, gonna lead us into a trap! Tyin' him up and givin' him to the bird-men Skrach is thinkin'." No getting anything past him, he was just warned to not be too trusting, wasn't he? Surely he's threatening someone far beyond his ability to harm, but this does not stop him from having such bravado.
