Zana looked at the clone and thanked him with a nod. She took the violin, tuned it and began to play. With the music that was playing, it was slightly difficult to keep up and find a good style to use. She was a bit rusty, but quickly got into the groove. Fiddle playing wasn't her style, but she found that she rather enjoyed it, it allowed her to do and play however and whatever she wanted. She began jumping up and down, her bow was flying and a few hair had already broken. She saw the clones on the dance floor, duking it out and she couldn't help but toss her head back in laughter, having a genuine good time.

Vlad was still at the bar, sitting and watching, enjoying the happenings. Amused by the clones, and quite amazed Zana was actually enjoying herself.

Maryne nodded and turned to follow Onix, stopping to draw another glyph on the wall before she quickened her pace to catch up to him. An eyebrow rose slightly when she stepped inside to find similar weapons to what Onix had shown her before. "So I just choose something and it works for me? Magic won't ruin it or anything, I hope."

Looking to Lothir, Pyro can't help but snicker; "my friend, you've no idea how much we clones know our moves; though they may not be to what you had in mind for dancing, but this helps us relieve some serious steam when the time allows."

The demolitionist chuckled again when Stalker shouted; "hey, band; play Pyro's favorite drinking song."
The tavern roared with approval as the marines in the band finished up their previous tune.

Immediately, a very deep beat beat with a violin playing came over the speakers; a few seconds it played for, allowing the crowd to sway back and forth to beat, when it suddenly gained pace and the whole band burst into rhythm; this time the lead guitarist sung the song, as well as some of the deeper voiced marines behind him.
[url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogarObiFgvI:1yzyqidl]One More-Turisas[/url:1yzyqidl]

Pyro let out a hoot of joy and took a long swig of his drink; "barkeep, another round." ((OOC: Alystra, if ya wanna have your lad take the floor, go ahead))

Edge allowed Lynx to scribe her glyph into the wall, then gestured down the hall, toward the main power generator; "the main reactor is down the hall, though, we'll have to take a lift up a few levels to reach it."

Nodding at the glyph Lynx had just completed, the clone turned and strode down the hallway, letting the magess catch up to him. Looking down at her, Edge nodded at Lynx's statement; "yes, ma'am, that would be correct; if I see a Leecher, I shoot at it without hesitation, but that is because of the simple fact that I know that the bug has no life; it was created for one purpose and one purpose alone; and because I know what that purpose is, I choose to fight it, because I know what our galaxy would look like if those. . . .those [b:1yzyqidl]things[/b:1yzyqidl] were allowed to roam free."

They walked to the turbolifts; Edge pressed a button to go up a few levels. The doors hissed open and the clone stepped inside, letting Lynx get in. Pushing the button for deck 250, he felt the lift accelerate upwards.

"However, what I don't understand is the [b:1yzyqidl]why[/b:1yzyqidl] part of your statement. In the little time that my squad leader was down there, he saw more stereotypical prejudice thrown around than I've seen on the [i:1yzyqidl]Nighthammer[/i:1yzyqidl] in my entire lifetime. How is that possible, I ask you? How can one race be so. . . so. . vengeful toward those like our drow companions or the dark elven marines onboard? because they waged a war against your race; that's understandable, but riddle me this. If the sun elves, I believe is what your species is called, think themselves so high and powerful, then why don't they show the compassion that comes with that kind of level of power or whatever one can call it. I find it rather disgusting that any race can have the audacity to be as arrogant as my squad leader described to me over the comm, and yet not posses the compassion and wisdom to forgive past wrong doings, god or no god prohibited. I should also add, that if any divine being does not posses the courage and true mercy to forgive their creations atrocities, however grave the crime, then they shouldn't even exist as far as I'm concerned."
Edge said that with a controlled icy tone that bordered on the raging. ((OOC: just as a fair saying, I'm not bringing any RL religion into this, I'm just playing Edge as I might see it through his eyes, being a clone and what not.))

The clone glanced down at Lynx again, his blue eyes dulled, as if part of his soul was missing from them.
"Perhaps that is why we clones don't believe in any true deity; I know I don't, and as for Onix and my squad brothers, well I can't speak for them, so I won't, but I'll say this; I learned a long time ago that if anyone is too self-absorbed in their zealous fanaticism with a supernatural being, whoever or whatever that may be, then they die, faster than a bullet can leave my HMG, they die. I would know, because before I was with the Theta's and Onix, I half my squad during our training years, and then the remainder of them on a mission of mercy, sorta like the one we're on right now. Why did I lose them, you might ask? Simple, because of people just like who you described to me, Miss Lynx. Folks that were so high and proud that they refused to see the reality around them; so my squad died fighting to save them, though not in vain, but they sacrificed themselves nonetheless; so if I snap at anyone during this mission, especially you or Ryltar, do please forgive me." Despite the sadness in his voice, Edge shed not a single tear; he couldn't. As a clone, he was trained to hold his emotions in check, but if Lynx was acute in her perception, she would detect his mountain side of hurt behind his voice.

Onix looked at Ryltar and Maryne with a smirk on his face, even as Ironside glanced up; "hey boss; what are ya doing here, and with such find companions of ours?"

"Giving them first dibs on weapons they may need when we go planet-side," Onix replied, turning to Ironside.

"Hey, let 'em loose," the weapons specialist chuckled as he pulled up a crate of explosives and began pulling out grenades and breaching charges that they may need to where they're going.

Onix turned back to the two; "just go have a look around, find what you might feel comfortable with. Bring it back to me and we'll let ya have a go with it in the firing range."
((Ryltar, go ahead and choose a weapon, and PM me what you might want for their troupe into the Underdark.))

[i:2t4f5t1p]I've known El'Taels of Ar'Tel'Quessir dying to defend the ones like our companions, Edge. The war is still waging. The damage is still done. You are lucky to meet the 'good' dancers here, and miss the other side of their race. Leechers are nicer than the dhaerow in this case, they just do what they were created for... The dhaeraow... they do things for their own delight, if it fits their goals, they -relish- in it... enjoy it.[/i:2t4f5t1p]

[i:2t4f5t1p]When the dhaeraow attack settlements, they don't just kill the adults, they kill children, pregnant women, pets. Imagine one coming home to find his parents flayed alive and tacked to the ceiling while the still-breathing bloody mess that was his dog is desperately attempting to crawl away - hampered by the fact that it's missing its skin, eyes, and paws. And that's if they're being nice. Would such person... after witnessing this... ever trust a drow?[/i:2t4f5t1p]

[i:2t4f5t1p]The Llothites are sadistic... If they capture a female, they kill her after torturing her badly... if she is lucky. If not, they carve her beating heart out upon an alter to the Spider Bitch and cast her soul into the Abyss, into Lloth's clutches for the eternal torment. Hells, they sacrifice each other! You asked why? That's -[b:2t4f5t1p]why[/b:2t4f5t1p]-.

You're doing the same mistake you're accusing us of, Edge, you're judging my people without knowing -all- facts. If a Leecher comes to you and claims to be different, would you believe it right away? It's hard hard hard to believe... [/i:2t4f5t1p]

She rubbed her forehead and smiled a bit. [i:2t4f5t1p]My own kin, the sun elves are often known as 'arrogant', perhaps it is true. Created by Corellon, the Father of all elves himself, first among the others. [/i:2t4f5t1p]Lynx smirked at that.[i:2t4f5t1p] But in reality... The Seldarine does not teach such, nor they allow such cruelty to be done by the hands of the quessir. Do we look down at the drow? Yes, because we fear them, fear the things they are capable of doing to us.[/i:2t4f5t1p]

[i:2t4f5t1p]Let's be frank, what's the percentage of the 'good drow' in comparison to their whole race? Three percent? Five? Doubt it is more than it. If you heard that ten-fifteen Leechers out of a thousand did not seem to be attacking people, what would you think? Would you stop hating them all? Or still be wary?[/i:2t4f5t1p]

[i:2t4f5t1p]I do not say my people are perfect. There are enough ...morons who do things against the Seldarine's teaching... and those who commit crimes, covering them with the gods' names. But those are N'Tel'Quessir, Not-Of-The-People. We'd consider those as strangers and if they try to harm others, we'd fight against those.[/i:2t4f5t1p]

[i:2t4f5t1p]People are suspicious toward the Dancers because they cannot be sure if those are the good drow who chose another way, or the dhaeraow who are pretending to be good and waiting for a moment to lower your guards. Trust comes a long way. Forgive them? To be able to speak about forgiveness, they should -STOP- doing those evil things they relish in.[/i:2t4f5t1p]

[i:2t4f5t1p]You know what your galaxy would look like if those Leechers are allowed to roam freely? I dread to imagine what Faerun would look like if the dhaeraow were allowed to conquer the surface.[/i:2t4f5t1p] The elf actually shuddered a little. Lynx stared at the wall quietly, then, as the doors of the lift opened, she looked to the clone again. [i:2t4f5t1p]I am sorry about your squad.[/i:2t4f5t1p] Her small dainty hand rested upon his forearm as she spoke softer now. [i:2t4f5t1p]But do not judge us too harshly. I am not a zealot of the Triune Goddess... Yet I follow her and respect what she teaches me. Ryltar and I are not the bad guys. Just as the Dancers are not the bad guys... Yet I will watch all the newcomer drow to make sure they are what they claim to be. Though Lothir and Zarae seem alright to me and have my utmost respect.[/i:2t4f5t1p]

Edge looked away in shame, realizing that he had done the exact same thing that his squad leader had emphasized [b:p72wcxov]not[/b:p72wcxov] doing to their guests. Shaking his head, the clone botched in his emotions and steeled himself.

The commando rubbed his forehead at what the sun-elf magess was saying to him. It made logical sense to him, but something in her words made his head hurt.
Putting younglings to the torch, even pregnant females, edge had seen such things before, but he still could barely swallow the thought. It was as if the clones lived two separate lives, one on the battlefield; the other whenever they had time off, to let their psyches absorb the brutal mental punishment that came with the experiences. One was an iron-hard soldier, the other, a suffering soul that tried its best to coup with the never ending amount of suffering and pain that the commandos endured.

Edge let his mind grapple with the statement of what Lynx had just said.
Finally, he managed, "my apologies, Lynx; you are right of course. I spoke out of turn and out of anger. In my blindness, I didn't see something that was key in my judgments. As to your question about a Leecher that exhibited a willpower to restrain itself from feeding upon a soul that was right in front of it. My personal opinion would make me stop right there, but my training would force me to follow my orders. If my squad leader said to fire, I would fire upon it, regardless of what my personal feelings are towards it."

As the lifts doors hissed open and the clone walked forward, despite the simple fact he knew what Lynx said to be true; Edge had let his anger at losing his squad cloud his judgment about his companions and their respective races. He mentally slapped himself for making such a stupid and insignificant response.
"Making mistakes like that is how I get people killed on the battlefield," the clone muttered to himself, despite Lynx being right next to him as he walked along to the main reactor.

Listening to the new song, the bard moves briefly back to his seat, picks up the lute he left lying there, and goes back over to the band, quickly joining in the song with a harmonizing tune. He is soon playing along as if he had played it many times before, clearly picking up the basic melody with swift ease.

After a few minutes, the band goes into another tune, and as he listens to the pounding, driving rhythm begin, he slowly puts away the lute, with a wide grin, and steps out onto the floor, slipping his two daggers from his boots, and with almost a single step, goes swiftly into what appears to be an almost trance-like state, eyes half-closed as he begins to spin, weave, duck, kick and leap about the floor like a drunken cyclone, his blades flashing in a wild pattern almost to quick to follow. As the music changes, his steps match almost perfectly, as if he has somehow become in tune with the rhythm, a part of it.

(Here's a link to the song): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9TlE268PFY

His moves look something like(but much faster for the music!):

She hurried after the clone, wincing, able to sense his hurt, yet unsure how she could help him. [i:3f2rjuk4]Edge.[/i:3f2rjuk4] She called out, seeking to halt him in his step, then looked up to his face. [i:3f2rjuk4]You spoke of forgiveness...[/i:3f2rjuk4] Lynx took a deep breath, unsure how to word it properly, then exhaled, uttering softly, just a little above a whisper. [i:3f2rjuk4]Perhaps it is a time to... forgive yourself? Not forget about what happened... But accept... and forgive?[/i:3f2rjuk4]

Her thin brows were knitting. [i:3f2rjuk4]Losing -family- is hard, always. I've lost ones close to me before... But those who took their lives... they damaged you and still are damaging you, even right now as you're in pain...[/i:3f2rjuk4] She genuinely wished she was a priest, right here, right now - surely one of a clergy would have found right words for such? [i:3f2rjuk4]You did not fail them. You fought to the end, right? Did all you could. You just happened to survive. And you're letting a doubt eat you up now, if you could have performed it all better, if they could have been saved... Don't... Death is not that scary to those who die. They leave this realm and embrace the afterlife. Death is far scarier to those who -stay- and exprerience this loss... the guilt...[/i:3f2rjuk4]

Pyro wasn't sure what to make of the bard as he took to the floor, that and the half buzzed marines stood in both awe and confusion. Not sure what to make of the dancing Lothir, some of the troopers actually smiled at the bards odd and new style, others simply smirked.

Pyro suddenly realized that the bard had unknowingly initiated round 2 of the dance off.
"Oh shit," the clone cursed to himself, putting his drink down, but Stalker raised his hand, telling the demolitionist to hold it. The sniper wanted to see how the bard would do. Pyro grumbled something about being a party pooper, then went back to his drink.

Edge was unsure of what to make of Lynx; first she was defending her people and giving reasons as to why the drow of Toril were not to be that easily forgiven and why they were as they were. Now she was telling him that it wasn't his fault his original squad had perished. He knew though that it [b:2dicv8fm]was[/b:2dicv8fm] his fault, at least partially.

He looked Lynx in her teal eyes, his own ocean blue orbs glowing; "you said that you too have lost loved ones and ones close to your heart. Were you ordered to let them die?" he asks in a soft tone, his voice uncertain.
"How can I forgive myself when it was I who abandoned them to their fate? How can I justify my doubt if I knew that they would've survived, but was ordered to fall back? How can I forgive myself, when I've known that I could have pulled my squad outta there?"

She winced a little, listening to his questions, once again wishing she was a priestess trained to console people. [i:2136lvgj]I really do not know what happened, Edge... I really do not know. But I know we have to move on. I do not say forget... You know. Perhaps you could.. tell me sometime what happened?[/i:2136lvgj]

Again they walked in the maze of corridors, until they got to the main reactor and she began drawing her glyph upon the wall. [i:2136lvgj]Whatever happened there, I am sure you did what you thought you had to do... no matter what[/i:2136lvgj]. Some thought crossed her mind and she paused, then forced it away, offering a little smile to the clone once the glyph began to glow. [i:2136lvgj]Done here[/i:2136lvgj].

Ryltar searched through the armory, it was vast, that was for sure. And many weapons seemed far larger than he was which made his mind boggle momentarily. Finally he came across an energy rifle, one that seemed to be able to be wielded by him with an accompanying Bull's Strength spell. In addition, he chose two energy blades, that were wrist mounted and slapped each device on his wrists. That done he'd head back to Onyx, weapon in hand. "I believe, I'm ready to test my skills with this."

Edge listened to Lynx and nodded; "perhaps I don't truly know what happened then. Perhaps I am too hard on myself, but sometimes, I can't help but wonder. . . " he let the thought trail off.

"Alright; next area should be. . " he brought up a quick mental map of the ship in his head; "the life support systems. This way." The clone led a ways down the hall, leaving the reactor room behind. As he made his way through a twisting corridor, Edge asked Lynx; "so, besides hearing my little rant about past problems, do you have any questions for me, perhaps about this ship or us in general? I've got at least five more places that we [b:3jj0zlq9]must[/b:3jj0zlq9] glyph and shield, so more than enough time."

Onix looked at Ryltar's weapons choices.
"A pulse beam carbine, one of our more, [i:3jj0zlq9]exotic[/i:3jj0zlq9] choices, but a good one nonetheless," the clone looked at the wizards melee choices and grinned.
"Plasma cutters, nasty way to die. Good pick; alright you want to test out that beam carbine, this way." Onix gestured for Ryltar to follow.
"Miss Maryne, when you're ready, we'll in this room," Onix said to the priestess, as the door to the firing range hissed open as the clone finished inputting the security code.

"Alright, my wizard friend; take you're pick of a target, aim and let her rip. Also, for simplicities sake, I'm going to assume that you've a basic understanding on how to wield that thing?" Onix points to the carbine in the wizard's hands.

the rogue clapped to their performances enjoying the show of the competing males. she wondered how far this would go. dance competitions could get dangerous, often were, from her experinces. she and her twin brother had snuck out of the compound and spied on such one. when an eliminated competitor become disgruntled, he turned on the winner and judge leading to basically a blood bath.

(im not ignoring, just havent had a change of actions so no reason to post. its seams silly to keep saying 'im just watching the show' over and over. so i'll post if i do something different or there is an interaction.)

The elf nodded her agreement and then followed the clone, trying to hide her growing weariness. [i:lc9cftl1]Oh, right.. about that![/i:lc9cftl1] Lynx perked up. [i:lc9cftl1]I am sure you have some... information for ..um. Beginners.[/i:lc9cftl1] She smirked at that, glancing about as they made their way to the next vital spot of the ship.

[i:lc9cftl1]As far as I gathered this is a space travelling vessel with a forcefield that prevents the leak of air from it... With artificial gravitation... The recycling system that supplies you all with fresh air and water...[/i:lc9cftl1] After each statement she was making little pauses so he could correct her if she misunderstood something. [i:lc9cftl1]But the ...engine to move you through the space... to all these huge distances between the worlds, between the stars.. as well as those weapons that could destroy whole planets... must require an insane amount of energy. What kind of energy is that? Also... the velocity it must be either huge so your travels would not take years... or you must have means to fold the space like what we do for teleportation.[/i:lc9cftl1]

As soon as the song ended, the bard spun into a fast split, then snapped back up and finished with a flourish of blades. He turned to the assembled soldiers and clones, with a look of pure adrenaline-fueled bliss on his face, and glanced over at Pyro with a wide grin.

"Top THAT, bombs-for-brains!" He said with a laugh. "And I dare anyone in this room to copy what I just did."
