"Well, let's see what these over-sized calverins can do!" the bard says, and takes aim at the first wave of drones with the AA gun he is manning. He checks the targeting system, and then starts firing away, blasting drone after drone.

At Zarae's comment, he laughs, and says, "Right! Anybody here want to keep score? I'm challenging Zarae to a shooting match! High score wins!! And loser has to do whatever the winner wants!" He grins, turning to give her a quick look of challenge, and then goes back to blowing up drones.

OOC: Sorry for not posting the past few days. Kept forgetting as I got caught up in some other stuff.

IC:

Ryltar lurched a bit as the sudden font of overwhelming knowledge came over him. He shook his head as the knowledge was digested in his brain, causing the drow to scowls and mutter a bit. As he entered the room that controlled the guns, everything made sense to the drow, and he grinned a bit before another though suddenly came to him mind. A sudden new avenue of knowledge had struck a chord with the drow and he used one of the comminicators to contact Onix. [i:1snvb75p]Where are energy relays for the energy weapons? I want to alter one, and I think it will help, greatly.[/i:1snvb75p] He then glanced over to Lynx and grinned widely as he moved over to her and handed her a pack of the reagents he found and gave her cheek a soft kiss.

The dreadnought continued forth, letting it's shields, absorb most of Lynx's blasts that she threw from her cannon. however, one might notice that the shields dimmed somewhat after each consecutive plasma blast hit on it. It returned fire, huge laser bolts arching away from its guns. . . . and coming straight at the lower decks, right where the clone squads and Vlad were.

Lynx might not have noticed, but when her plasma blasts impacted the enemy dreadnought, quite the number of explosions could be seen just to the front of the dreadnought; the magess had blown tens of drones to hell and back with her heavy cannon blasts.

Meanwhile, around the HVG, one-by-one, drone fighters succumbed to the onslaught of rail-gatling fire that Lothir, Zarae, along with Egde and Stalker threw forth from their own guns. One drone was caught inbetween a crossfire from Edge and Zarae's guns, blowing apart in a orange-yellow blossom. Three more drone fighters got into a mixed match with the two's AA rail-gatlings and came apart as Edge and Zarae shredded them.

Lothir caught two more with his AA fire, blasting the shielding on them to pieces. The drones got away from the bard's guns, only to run headlong into a hail of blue PB fire from the clones on the hull.
However, things went from good to bad in seconds, as hundreds of drones swarmed the HVG and everything in between. Raining down laser-fire onto the clones and the HVG itself, the drone fighters just kept coming, some even ramming into the HVG in a kamakazi run, though the shields held around the massive main cannon.[/color:3iaquo8v]

Edge saw the dreadnought fire its guns at his squad and the Betas down on the lower deck hull. The bolt impacted and for a moment the clone's heart sank.

Onix saw the incoming laser blast from the enemy dreadnought and yelled into his helmet comm; "HIT THE DECK!!"
Ironside, Pyro, and the Betas, along with Onix himself, dove to the deck-plates of the hull, scattering in all different directions as the laser-bolt surged in and impacted right where they'd been standing. Blasting the area with enough heat to melt through solid rock, the energy bolt scorched anything that was within the blast zone.
Onix felt the intense heat all the way through his exo-armor. However, the clones got lucky, for the shields of the [i:3iaquo8v]Nighthammer[/i:3iaquo8v] had encompassed them, providing the protection needed to overcome that laser blast. Ironically, Onix and his fellow clones, even in their exo-armor, could fit underneath their ship's shields fully.

Looking down through their screens, both Edge and Stalker saw that their squad had survived. The clones grinned as they continued their savage work on the drones, their rail-gatlings making high-pitched whirring noises at the guns turned about, their multiple barrels spewing projectiles at ungodly rates of fire.
[i:3iaquo8v]What... are there LARGER guns around?[/i:3iaquo8v] Her expression was telling 'if there is one larger, I want it!'[/quote:3iaquo8v]

Edge turned to the magess and smirked; "unless you want the HVG," he pointed out the panoramic view-port, indicating the massive gun that was now very slowly turning to target the enemy vessels; "you'll just have to like what you got."
"Keep on firing Lynx; that dreadnought needed to be scrap-metal a minute ago," the clone remarked, chuckling as he did so.

Turning to Drakin and the oversized imp; "Alright, Gris, I need you to bring that dreadnought's shields to cataclysmic fall with Lynx. Can you do that?" Edge exclaimed over the constant ruckus of gatling fire.
"Drakin; you know where the weak-points are on that ship?" Edge asked the assassin, bringing his AA's around to blow a drone outta the sky.

Stalker, noticing that Scar was sitting on a heavy gun, shouted over to him; "hey; drunken master; grab an AA station and help me out with these drones."

The sniper turned to Zana as the monk got onto one of the AA turrets and began to create a cross-fire with the clones outside and Stalker's own guns. Drones, two by two, fell to pieces under their combined fire.

"Zana; your guns are slower, but I think you already got that. Instead of trying to use your guns to blaze down incoming drones and fighters that make strafing runs. They're easier targets, plus once you line them up in your sights, your guns take care the rest." With that said to the huntress, Stalker turned back to his own targeting screen and continued to mow down drones with Scar, the automatons falling under the barrage that the two put up.

Right then, drones swarmed the area around them, pelting them with pocket blasts of light-green laser energy. Pyro turned just in time to see ten or so drones dive at him, raining down green bolts of liquid death upon him.

"Oh no; you will not shoot that green shit at me," the demolitionist said through his comm, as he launched himself off of the deck and into a rolling dive to avoid the fire. Coming outta his roll, Pyro raised his rocket launcher and sent a blue energy-enveloped rocket streaking towards the small flight of drones that just zoomed over him.

Onix and Ironside recovered and proceeded to start picking off drones with their PB weapons. Ironside sprayed blue particle bolts at the drones with his repeater, whilst Onix targeted one drone at a time and blew them to the Nine Hells and back. The other clone squads blasted away at the horde of drones that were still overhead, sending one at a time to the now forming orbital scrapyard.
[i:3iaquo8v]Where are energy relays for the energy weapons? I want to alter one, and I think it will help, greatly.[/i:3iaquo8v][/quote:3iaquo8v]

Onix shook his head within his helmet; "you want to do [b:3iaquo8v]what[/b:3iaquo8v]?" he exclaimed, targeting a drone and then melting a fist-sized hole through it as his particle-beam tore through the shields and part of the hull, before exploding it from the inside out.
"Nevermind. Power relays are directly connected to each gun, so depending on which gun you'd like to tinker with," Onix couldn't believe he was saying this; "you'll find most relays built into the front most part of the control station. The weapon's relay will be linearly akin to where the control station for that particular weapon is. Besides, what in the Hell, could you possibly do to our guns to make them do more damage? Unless you've got a better way to charge the HVG?"

Watching the drones continue to come in in droves, the bard adjusts his aim after the first two were only winged, and continues firing. "Not much different from the big bronze cannons on the Executioner," he says, grinning. "Except I don't have to worry about reloading these. Nice shooting Zarae! Now let a real buckaneer show you how to use a big gunn!" He leads a trio of drones that are strafing the clones outside, and fires off a rapid succession of shots at all three- aimed at their engine ports. "That's it- right up the gullet, boys!" He crows, an almost maniacal gleam in his eyes.

Maryne surveyed the room with a frown, piecing together her newfound knowledge of the machines and deciding to go to the other gatling, grinning when she realised it wasn't going to be that hard.

She aimed near a cluster of the incoming craft, continuing the fire though the first was way off, and drew the fire upwards until something exploded. Grinning, she shifted so that her cat could move in beside her and aimed at the enemy once more, closer to her mark this time, getting more of a feel for working with the gatling.

The first bullet that Lothir sends at the drones hits its mark dead on, bursting into a brilliant display as the drone explodes. While the other two bullets narrowly miss their mark, one wing, almost still intact from the first drone, flies out past them, drawing a large gaping hole in the second drone, both scraps now slamming into the third to create a grand finale as they topple end over end to be caught in another criss-cross of fire from the other members on the [i:1w9l4thq]Nighthammer[/i:1w9l4thq]. More of the drones circle around the destruction, firing at the parts now littering the space around them to make quick entry to the enemy ship.

Lynx smiled at the kiss, glancing to Ryltar for a second. Then the elf focused on the targetting device, aiming at the dreadnought's engines, seeking to damage them now as she sent two the plasma torpedoes that way before targetting the shield generators with the gun, again sending the bursts of plasma energy at the enemy's vessel, hoping to get several drones as well. [i:112kdfau]Whoa![/i:112kdfau] The gun's recoiling and the tremour of the room were making her grin.

Grisnaw waited a few more minutes, admiring the slight vibration he felt as the plasma cannon preparing to shoot. When the large ship came in range, he pulled the trigger. The force of the gun making Grisnaw fall from his seat.

"Now that's what I call a gun!" he said as he hopped back up into the chair, rubbing his head where he fell on it.

=========

Drakin punched a couple of buttons that allowed his view to zoom in on the capital ship. He was still astounded at the size of things that could be build in space.

"Drakin; you know where the weak-points are on that ship?" Edge asked[/color:279dg6ku]

Looking over the ship he saw a couple of spots that attracted his attention: hanger bay, engines, and what caught his attention, a hub on top of the ship that he believed was the command deck.

He took aim and waited for the moment the sheilds went down.

======

(OOC: And me a Veraka's good friend Scar is currently busy with various things, soo he's asked me to fill in for him for a time.)

Scar looked around trying to remember how the hells did he get up here when Stalker told him to use the gun he was sitting at and kill the drones.

Turning to the controls he realized that he somehow knew how to use them; he shrugged putting the thought away for later contemplation. He gathered his chi and pushed the remaining effects of the alchol from his body. Then put his his focus onto the drones.

Breathing slowly he let out a short burst, shredding one. Then sent another, and soon he started to find that this was actually quite a bit of fun.

Hearing Edge asking about weak points, Lothir looks at the screen in front of him, then back at the huge AA rail-gun, and grins. He hastily types in the coordinates of the bridge on one of the command ships, and lets loose a steady barrage of fire at that point. Several drones fly into the path, and he smirks at their misfortune of crossing his line of fire. "Idiots," he mutters gleefully, and soon follows with several rounds at one of the enemy gunships for good measure.

"alright, i'll take that bet!" the rogue replied, "prepare to be lose." she couldnt turn down such a challenge. laughing like this was a game, she continued to aim and release the (missile) at the enemy. maybe the seriousness of this hadnt hit the young drowess?
seeing a bigger target, she aimed her gun at it and pressed the butten (maybe tryin to take his target?)

((if i missed anything addressed to me let me know, its a bit to read, and i often do miss such things.))

[i:mszt1hba]Nevermind what I plan to do. Where are the control stations, outside, or inside?[/i:mszt1hba] I need a specific location. He said as he tapped at the device on his arm to pull up a map of the ship peering at the schematics of the ship, trying to find where the control stations would be located.

Lynx's barrage of plasma bursts, combined with Grisnaw's crazy assault with his cannon, continued to hammer the shields of the dreadnought. The enemy ship would've been good for another minute of continued barrage from Lynx and the fat imp. While the shields around the capital ship held, albeit barely, from the combined bombardment from Lynx and Grisnaw, several squadrons of drones failed to miss that point and were disentegrated from the blasts that Lynx and Gris sent hurtling in. Their tiny ship-frames and pebbles that passed for shields were little-match for the tower sized plasma energy bolts that came hurtling in.
Dozens upon dozens of drones were annihilated before the plasma blasts, the tiny craft just melting before the sheer heat of Lynx's and Gris's blasts.

However, the two plasma torpedoes from Lynx's cannon collided with the dreadnought, punching right through the shields as the plasma envelope around the torpedoes dissipated and the two projectiles slammed into the dreadnought's engines. The explosion from the blast sent plumes of debris, as well as engine coolant and reactant into the space around the ship. The dreadnought began to falter in it's movement, as its now heavily damaged engines failed to properly keep the ship moving.

The one thing that the dreadnought [b:q36s8eon]did[/b:q36s8eon] do was launch it's compliment of heavy fighters[/url:q36s8eon], along with a number of support gunships[/url:q36s8eon] and boarding craft.
Lothir's barrage with his AA rail-gats scores a direct hit upon his targeted gunship, blasting the shields of the gunship with a relentless hammering. But the shields held. The gunship, along with several heavy fighters, veered in towards Lothir's gun, along with any clones in the area.

The dreadnought's luck ran out, however, when it's shields faltered, as a combined plasma barrage from Lynx and Grisnaw opened up the ship to Drakin's beam sniper turret, which the assassin had already fixed on the ship's key areas.[/color:q36s8eon]

Edge noticed that the dreadnought's shields were down, all in no small part due to Lynx and the crazy fat imp, Grisnaw. Edge could still feel the deck tremble beneath his feet as Lynx and Grisnaw relentlessly sent burst after burst of plasma down range toward the dreadnought. The clone smiled to himself, loving every moment of it, as he directed his AA guns toward more drones, their rail-accelerated slugs slamming into shields and tearing through armor, reducing the drones to scrap iron.

Turning to Drakin, Edge called out; "Alright assassin, your turn. Put that thing out of commission for good. Gris, hammer that thing until it's scrap metal."

Spotting the dreadnought releasing it's contents of fighters, gunships and boarding craft, Stalker turned around in his chair and calmly said "we've got company, people. Even one of those boarding craft gets to the hull, the inside of the [i:q36s8eon]Nighthammer[/i:q36s8eon] will be swarming with those troops, or worse, bugs."

Edge looked to Lynx; "Alright, my techno-magess; those floating tin-cans out there," the clone was referring to the boarding craft; "whatever deities you worship, I want you to bring their hammer down upon those floating rust-buckets."

Boarding craft, thick and carrying enemy troops to the [i:q36s8eon]Nighthammer[/i:q36s8eon] began to make their way across the debris strewn field, though not so easily, as a AP rocket streaked up and exploded near on of them and their gunship escorts. The shields held, but for anyone manning the heavy guns of the [i:q36s8eon]Nighthammer[/i:q36s8eon], this was an attention getter, telling them 'HEYY!! These things, Shoot 'em.'[/color:q36s8eon]

Enemy fighters streaked in towards Onix and his team, despite the well placed PB fire that they put up. Green bolts of super hot energy pierced the black space around the clones as the fighters lit up the hull with laserfire. The clones ducked, dived and rolled outta the way, but for some it wasn't enough.

Onix saw three of his fellow brothers get vaporized in an instant as the combined fire from more than 25 fighters bore down upon them. The were no cries of agony through the comm, no pleas of help from the dead clones, just static from them. Pyro could be heard shouting,. . .screaming the names of his dead brothers into the comm, but it was no use. They were dead.

"A LITTLE HELP OUT HERE COULD BE USEFUL!!" Onix roared over the comm as he, Pyro, Vlad, and Ironside blasted away at the heavy fighters with relentless PB fire.

Edge turned to the others; "everyone on AA's, keep those fuckers off our brothers' backs!!" As he said this, both he and Stalker's guns blazed death upon the enemy. One fighter was caught in the clones' crossfire.
It twisted and dived, trying to maneuver outta the way. Stalker tracked it, his rail-guns blazing slugs at it as he kept his AAs on target. Edge and Stalker hammered the fighter relentlessly, its shields slowly giving way to their combined fire.

Ironside saw the incoming heavy fighter, raised his weapon and fired. The fighters shields succumbed to his fire, and he blasted the enemy craft with PB fire, his repeater putting hole after molten hole into the craft until it exploded in a shower of fire.

[quote:q36s8eon]"alright, i'll take that bet!" the rogue replied, "prepare to be lose."[/quote:q36s8eon]

"Zarae, Lothir, put that game to use, and blast those fighters to the hells," Edge exclaimed without even looking up from his screen.

[quote:q36s8eon][i:q36s8eon]Nevermind what I plan to do. Where are the control stations, outside, or inside? I need a specific location.[/i:q36s8eon][/quote:q36s8eon]

Onix didn't have time to think about what the drow mage was asking as another two of his brothers took a missile right in between them. One was completely gone, the other had his exo-suit breached and blood was leaking into space, freezing the instant it came out of his suit.
"Some one get that man a medic," Onix shouted into his comm.

"Alright, Ryltar; the interface to the control stations for all the guns that our companions are operating are directly beneath where you are; literally one deck below your current position. Whatever you intend to do, do it quickly. We're getting blown to pieces out here," Onix replied to Ryltar, as one of the Betas hauled the injured clone into the air-lock and sealed it.

"Vith!" Lothir snarls, seeing the clones getting slaughtered outside on his view-screen. "Now I know why you call this ship the Nighthammer- it's night, and we're getting HAMMERED!" He keeps shooting, looks over at Lynx and the gargoyle. "You guys pick your OWN targets, will ya?! Stay off of mine!" He carps slightly, then turns the AAs on another half-dozen drones, sweeping a rain of fire along their path like a line of meteors streaking into the void.

"Eat blazing death, creeps!" he says, getting a little TOO enthusiastic. But the drones keep coming in, and the gunships are making quick work of the men outside. Suddenly, he looks over at the only empty turbo-laser left, and back to his guns, and an utterly wicked look spreads over his face. "Oh, yes..." he mutters, still slamming away at yet another squadron of drones and a pair of heavy fighters. "Goddess, I hope this works," he says, and quickly sings out a chant as he fires.

A blue-white glow envelops the rail-gun, and after a moment of intense staring at it, he grins, and takes his hands of the controls. "THIS is going to be FUN," he snickers, and dives from the AA's to the big turbo-laser nearby, powering it up as fast as it will activate. "Now try THIS on for size, jerks..." He grins evilly, and swings the cannon toward the dreadnaught, somehow bringing the AA's to bear at the nearest gunship at the same time. He glances over at Lynx and Ryltar, and spares a moment to shout at them- "Can either of you animate weapons? Get the rest of the guns going!" He whips his head back to his sceen, and keeps right on firing both the cannon and the AA, taking out drones and heavy fighters with the smaller weapon mentally as he hammers at the larger ships with the larger gun.

Edit: Had a little mix-up on the guns. Fixed it. As you were, folks. My apologies, commander. Resume battle....

[i:3uke2h2t]I can... try since it is an arcane spell.[/i:3uke2h2t] She did not sound too sure, still firing the plazma blasts at the dreadnought. Her right hand slid to the satchel and she pulled her spelltome out quickly, flipping through the pages to find the spell Lothir mentioned. Lynx casted a glance down at the book, reading the spell quickly during the cooldown between the shots, then uttered the incantation, targetting several smaller guns to the side of her, which seemed to be inactive - should her spell succeed, they would start firing at the drones rather effectively. The mage focused on her own gun again, sending yet another charge of plazma as the dreadnought. [i:3uke2h2t]Oh, break already![/i:3uke2h2t]

Vlad saw three clones get fried close by, this made him pause for just a second and it put him into perspective. [i:czow9lg2]That could have been me, or my team,[/i:czow9lg2] he thought, almost as an epiphany. He stood on the hull and watched as the fighters got released form the dreadnought, feeling utterly hopeless.

What scared him the most was the fact that he heard no screams or anything from those three poor men, death came that quickly, and who had noticed? Only those around them. He could get shot down and no one would notice, and then what?

He shook his head, trying to get that thought out of his head. He then saw a rocket come and hit between two more clones. Their suits became breached and he heard Onix shouting orders.

[i:czow9lg2]You know? I think I really prefer the bounty hunting business. This sucks! It's so chaotic and...scary.[/i:czow9lg2] Vlad said to the squad, this being the first time he'd ever admit being scared. He then went back to using his PB gun to shoot at the drones shooting at him.

***

Zana saw three clones float into space, dead. [i:czow9lg2]The fuck that's going to happen to our men and Vlad,[/i:czow9lg2] she thought with malicious intent upon those trying to kill her friends. She saw the main shields go down and saw that the dreadnought released more drones, fighters, and gunships. She heard one of the guys saw to take down the fighters and gunships before they board. She aimed over and over again, shooting over and over at the fighters and gunships, and prayed that Lynx's spell would work. The more fire power, the better.

Drakin noticed that the plasma bursts starting to hit the capital ship's hull at the same time Edge yelled to him. Drakin waited a few more seconds and pulled the trigger.

He watched the thin, highly concentrated beam of energy shoot out towards the other ship.

======

Grisnaw could have cared less that the sheilds were down on the other ship. He just liked watching anything that got in the way of his gun get disintegrated. The four foot gargoyle just laughed in glee.

=======

Scar, now fully enjoying himself, just kept shooting the small drones out of space.

"Oooh," he said to himself as explosions popped up everywhere, "Look at all the pretty lights."
