((all that to read thru? if i miss something, sorry.
as for the gibbs slap...lol. i like that show also.))

[quote:qagh6ylx]"Forgive me, but where I, 180 and his squad, and my marines come from, the way of rule isn't dictated by females, especially not ones like me or 180, well, outsiders that is. However, in our military, rank is what matters, through experience and discipline, not through blood right or some other god-forsaken reason. I hope I've explained things well enough," [/quote:qagh6ylx]
Zarae shurgged, as she stood quietly.
she often was to observe those around her. it allowed one to learn much and keep herself prepared and ready.
After a bit, Moonlight made his way over next to Zarae and nuzzled her arm. as she was rubbing his neck, she heard that she was addressed.
[quote:qagh6ylx]"Zarae Zyne Kilanatlar, if my memory serves me correctly, ma'am," Onix interrupted the lieutenant.[/quote:qagh6ylx]
"yes, that is my name. but all yall can call me Zarae."

[quote:qagh6ylx]"That is one strict female. Reminds me of my tutor Shiallin..." he muses softly.[/quote:qagh6ylx]
"we're not all that bad," she jest to the bard as the dark elf and her group head up.

when the solidiers revealed themselves, it shocked the rogue a bit. identical! he wasnt kidding about the cloned part.

[quote:qagh6ylx] he inclined his helmet toward Zarae and Lynx, though more aimed at Zarae "very beautiful allies of our good old squad lead." [/quote:qagh6ylx]
Zarae sorta blushed but it was barely visible with her obsidian skin. she didnt believe herself as such much, less think of herself in those ways. survival rarely thought of looks. and a look into a mirror often showed slighty dishoveled (messy) hair and simple clothes (compared to her most of the nobles). then she wondered about the other female. most of those, like her sisters, would have killed for such a statement. quietly clearing her throat, she just ignored it as sight problems. for her surface cousin was one who would be classified in that. maybe the alien was confused?

[quote:qagh6ylx]Are we going to make camp here for now before we traverse off? Or do something else?[/quote:qagh6ylx]
"yes, we should decide a plan. standing here out in the open and in not friendly territory is not wise. I suggest we make a decision soon."

Onix looked about at hearing both Ryltar's and Zarae's comments about finding a good camping spot to rest and recuperate.

"Squad, any ideas?" Onix asked the Thetas. Each of his squad looked to themselves and shrugged.

"This is as good of a time as any, sarge," replied 162 as he put his helmet back on.

Right then, an explosion shook the ground, followed by panicked and scrambled shouts over the squads comlinks.

Onix pressed his gauntlet comlink and spoke into it; "Lieutenant Myria, come in, over," he waited for a second; no response.
"Lieutenant, Alpha platoon, come in, over!" he shouted into his wrist comm.

"Sergeant 180, this is lance corporal Locke; the LT's been hit. . . . . . we're taken by surprise. . . . numbers unknown, but they're definitely here for the bug's remains," came a voice over the link.

"Corporal, hold your position, we'll be there soon, over and out."

Turning to his squad, Onix became the iron hard soldier that he'd been when Myria was around, but this time he was doing so as squad leader.
"Theta squad, lock and load!" he barked to his team. They came up, weapons ready, in uniform precision.
"Move out, squad."
Turning to Lothir, Zarae, Ryltar and Lynx, he said, "sorry, I guess camp will have to be put on hold."
With that, the clone took off after his brothers, pulling out his M92 HMG all the while.

"Oh, joy. Just when things were beginning to get dull...." The bard quips, then runs off after the others. He pulls his blades out of his boots and shifts them back to full length sabers, his dark green cloak flying behind him as he sprints along behind the soldiers. There is a look of focused excitement on his youthful features, and he barely even looks back to see if the others are coming.

He sees all the heavy hardware being drawn by Onix and his squad, and snickers as he runs along-side the leader. "Such heavy weapons, just for a bug problem? I'd call it overkill, my friend! There must be an easier way to squash them!"

Pyro heard Lothir's question and answered in Onix's stead; "Nah, Lothir, your forget, that unlike you and the rest of 180's allies, we don't have the fancy magics that you unleashed upon the queen Leecher; so to be frank, the kit that we're packin' isn't overkill, it's more necessity. And before you mention your 'grand' exploits of killing off over-sized fire, acid, and ice breathing flying lizards, trying killing the bug that can take probably all of that and more, AND then, DRAIN those flying lizards in the same fashion that you saw earlier; which in turn, heals and revitalizes the bug and makes it that much tougher to defeat. Trust me when I say that squad leader and all of you got lucky that the queen didn't get it's fangs on the entire village."

Onix looked over at Pyro and shook his helmet.

"What?" Pyro asked innocently.

"Smartass," retorted Onix in a mocking tone.

"Better a smartass than a dumbass," the explosives expert replied with shrug of his shoulders and a carefree and cheerful tone.

The rest of Theta squad just shook their helmets as they raced on.

Onix and his squad sprinted toward the source of the disturbance, which was on the far side of the village. What the clones came upon stopped them in their tracks.
The marines that were lead by Myria, were pinned in a rock outcropping on the outskirts of the village, taking laser-fire from what Onix about to be about 35 to 45 enemy contacts, the same black armored ones that he, Lothir and Zarae had fought off earlier before killing the Leecher.

Onix saw Myria lying unconscious on the ground with Alpha's medic looking after her, a laser burn cauterized in her chest. Onix's temper instantly flared as he saw two more dead marines on the ground, both hit in the head.

"Let's take 'em down quietly, Theta," he growled in a low tone. The squad nodded in return.

"Stalker," he said to the blood-red armored commando, "take down the way you do."

"With extreme pleasure, sir," Stalker replied in a cynical tone. With that, the crimson-painted commando broke off from the squad, engaged his armors cloak and disappeared off into the brush.
Onix turned to Zarae and said, "Zarae, keep pace with Stalker but don't get in his way; hit any enemies that you can in the head. You should be able to track him via that magic you have or by his footprints."

Cocking his rifle to chamber a round in his M92, Onix made a sign with two of his gloved fingers, then four of them, and finally pointed off in the opposite direction that Stalker had taken off in.
"Edge, Ironside, flank the assholes and give em something to think about."

"Rodger," Edge responded, followed by Ironside, the gray-armored heavy weapons specialist, "Affirmative."

Turning to Lynx, Ryltar, and Lothir, Onix nodded at them, saying "you three are with me and Pyro, we're gonna ease some of their fire off the Marines," he turned to look at the battle scene.

Pointing an armored glove at a small group of five enemies, Onix barked; "Pyro, AAR((Anti-Armor Rocket)), there!"

With that, Pyro slipped his M92 onto his back and pulled out a rocket launcher that was as big as he was.
"Enemies go boom, Sir?" he replied in a mischievous and maniacal tone. He sighted the targeted group.

Onix looked around, making sure that no one was behind Pyro when he launched that missile; the clone shouted "CLEAR!!"

Pyro acknowledged the command pulling the trigger. A rocket the size of Onix's forearm streaked out of the launcher and raced toward the targeted group. The projectile lanced in, its motor screaming.
The explosion threw the enemy formation into absolute chaos. The shock wave threw about 7 extra black-clad, laser-armed enemies to the ground. Where the missile struck, a crater the size of a house was all that was left.

((OOC: I don't know how busy Luexena, Delrum, and Zarae are but I'm gonna wait for them to respond before going on; but I think they'll like the explosion, at least I would assume Ryltar would, but that's not my call))

Ryltar blinked as combat began once again with the strange looking soldiers. The drow carefully analyzed the situation with keen eyes as fire was opened on the laser bearing soldiers. He'd rest his staff on the ground before pull out two daggers that crackled and pulsed with a red glow. Lynx, cast a reverse gravity on them. After giving the order, he'd chant a few dark words before going to a knee and slamming both blades into the earth. Red energy would surge from them in circular patterns before fading. A few moments later theground about the drow on either side would crack and splinter as eight skeletal creatures would rise about him, bearing weapons and flanking each side of him.

"What in the Nine Hells?!" the bard says as he stares blankly at the explosion, his jaw dropping. then he shakes his head, muttering. "And I thought Beznik was the only one who did that sort of thing...."

He glances around, then shrugs, and steps back pulling his lute from his back, and begins to sing. All those allies in hearing suddenly feel a lift of spirits and a new confidence and energy at the stirring melody. He weaves a spell into the song, and after a moment, one of the enemies suddenly loses all his armor- and the clothing underneath- as it all seems to inexplicably come undone and fall of into a small pile at his feet.

Any weapons not held in the emeny soldier's hands also fall, until the alien is standing naked with nothing but the weapon he is holding. Not even the boots he was wearing remain on his body. The bard grins wickedly, and repeast the same spell for three more of the enemy warriors, all while he continues to sing.

the rogue followed the alien's warrior with no trouble, tho she wasnt so keen on [i:2gt1pvb0]following [/i:2gt1pvb0]anyone. maybe it was the rebellious side of her? or the idea of following a male, and a loud one at that- as the explosion went off. personally she preferred stealth, but it did a good job, unless there was a druid, then they might woulda disagreed.
Zarae reached into her pack and pulled out the (collapasble how would u say that here?) bow. she nocked an arrow and released the string. the arrow flew straight. withing seconds a wood shaft was sticking out of a naked throat.
another was loaded and simultaneously flying to another target.

Lynx winced as the sight of the fight, rolling her shoulders quick and pulling the shawl over her eyes again. Reaching to the pouch on her belt, she took out a few feathers and tossed them into the air, murmuring a spell quick - and all the allies around her would feel they could move twice as fast as before under the effect of the [i:358lb4cx]Mass Haste.[/i:358lb4cx]

[i:358lb4cx]I can't cast reverse gravity yet! Have not learnt it... Though I can do this...[/i:358lb4cx] Her lips curled and she quickly tossed a little pebble at one of the enemies, murmuring the incantation quick - the pebble bounced off the armor - but if her spell succeeded, the person would have simply turned into a stone statue.

[i:358lb4cx]And this...[/i:358lb4cx] The elf pulled a piece of metal wire from the pouch, again speaking the arcane words hastily, the air around her began sparkling, a second after a lightning bolt surged from the lithe magess, zapping many of the enemies in the way, and hopefully overloading - and burning their weapons/armors. [i:358lb4cx]...Chain lightning.[/i:358lb4cx]

The clone looked to Ryltar through his helmet and nodded at the odd skeletal soldier minions of the dark elf mage; Onix wasn't about to refuse help when it was offered. The skeletons looked like they could do some damage.
"Send them to protect our left flank," Onix said to the mage; it made sense. With Onix, Pyro, and Lothir protecting Ryltar and Lynx from the right, their left would be completely open; and Onix knew that their enemy would attempt to try any and all options they had at their disposal.

If Onix's face could be seen from behind his visored-helmet, it would be one of surprise and utter astonishment at the effect of Lothir's spell on the one enemy. Never before had Onix, or his squad, seen an enemy stripped down butt-naked by any means at all in all their artificial lives.

Onix noticed that Lothir's song was having a profound effect on the Marines who were still battling it out with the black-clad enemy soldiers. They began to fight with more confidence, their shots more precise, more timed, and more-accurate. Onix started to feel the same effect, but knew not to overestimate anything in battle.

It was Pyro who took advantage of Onix's surprise and decided to give the poor soldier something to end his miserable existence.
"Fire in the hole," he shouted as an incendiary (burning) grenade flew from his hand, landed next to the cloth-less soldier, and exploded. The enemy was vaporized in an instant as ultra-hot white phosphorous seared it's way through the soldier, and a few others in the area.
"Hehehe, I [b:uydo83op]love[/b:uydo83op] my job!" Pyro wooted charismatically.

Stalker, who was with Zarae a good 50 meters behind the battlefield, noticed that the dark elf was as good with her bow as he was with his rifle.

As Zarae's second shot nailed it's target, Stalker nodded his helmet to the drowess, and said "nice shot," in a calm tone. With that, the sharpshooter sighted a target with his railgun, and squeezed the trigger.
A hyper-sonic round sped down and out the weapons barrel. The projectile impacted the enemy soldiers head, taking it clean off with kinetic energy alone.
Pumping the railgun, Stalker ejected the spent cartridge, cooled the rails off and loaded a new round into the barrel.
"Keep 'em coming," he snickered in his somewhat deep, dry voice. He then spotted something that didn't look good.

Turning to Zarae, he said "drowess," and then pointed with two fingers toward the two enemies that he'd spotted. Both were not clad in the enemies black armor. These were the vanguards to a much bigger problem.

Both Onix and Pyro immediately felt the effects of Lynx's first spell, as both of them managed to duck out of the way of two incoming bolts for red death.

The pebble sailed from Lynx's hand and made contact with its targeted enemy; but failed. Onix wasn't sure what to make of the odd cast, but he soon got his answer. One of the two mages that Stalker had pointed out had Dispelled the magic pebble before it made contact with the enemy soldier. However, this wizard wasn't armored like the rest of the soldiers; rather he was a drow, just like Lothir, Zarae, and Ryltar.

Lynx's Chain Lighting, however, succeeded in doing two things; one was incapacitating at least 5 of the enemy infantry, and the second was disabling at least 3 more weapons and armors.

Onix's excitement vanished, however, when two fireballs roared in toward him, Pyro and Lothir.
Knowing what would happen should even an inch of one of those fireballs touch Pyro, Onix grabbed his explosives expert by the wrist, yelled "Incoming," engaged strength mode and flung Pyro to the right of the twin balls of blazing inferno, even as they roared in for Onix himself.

[quote:th6t06af]"nice shot," in a calm tone[/quote:th6t06af]
She shrugged after the relese of another arrow, "you sound surprised?" she jested.
several more found their targets, wooden shafts sticking out of unclad soliders, some in places no guy would want to imagine...(she's got a dark sense of humor sometimes)
the effects of the spell were felt her movements ven faster than she already was. tho if she wasnt careful she's run out of missiles.
then in the midst of the battle, Zarae heard it. and the male confrimed it.
Zarae stepped back into the shadow of the tree, for she only needed the slightest bit, and vanished from sight, right before Stalker's eyes.
she moved quickly to flank the new enemies. (folding- if anyone is aware of bows, some, like many recurves, the arms can detach) putting away her bow, she unsheathed a dagger. with the stealth of a hunting panther, the drowess brung the blade into the back of the shoulder between the scapula and vertabrae (sneak attack-back stab).

Ryltar smiled brightly and sent the skeletal warriors off to the left flank to engage the enemeis. Meanwhile the drow would take out some leaves and would begins to incant words once more. Slowly the leaves would shrivel up and burn until they were nothing but smoke, then all three billows of it would rapidly be sent out one after the other at a marine in a Phantasmal Killer spell.

The bard hears the loud whisling noise, and looks up in time to see the fireballs whizzing toward them. He stops in mid-verse, and makes a tremendous leap away from both the fireballs, and Pyro, eyes wide. When they hit, he dives to the ground, curling around his precious lute, with his cloak over him. He feels the heat from the fireballs, but fortunately, the cloak's magic protects him somewhat, though both it and his hair come out badly singed and burned.

After a moment, he gets up, looks down at his singed and charred clothes- and especially at his hair, which has been burned to half its former length- and turns a blazing blue gaze on the spellcaster. "That one's ALL mine," he says to Onix, pointing at the culprit. (OOC: His hair is his one bit of vanity- DON'T mess with it, or he goes balistic! Think Vespa from Spaceballs when the soldier shoots her hair and she goes Rambo... )

He promptly chants a quick rhyme and disappears, even as a large sphere of darkness envelops the enemy mage. (Cast Invis, and used GOD power- Hmm... That sounds prophetic....) While the mage is distracted by the inky black globe, he silently makehis way around the area toward him, blades drawn and bloodlust in his usually calm and freindly eyes.

Lynx growled quietly and tumbled to the side, feeling the heat of the blazing fire behind her back from the fireballs, then the elf hopped to her feet quickly, a bit carelessly, almost catching a lazer blast in her face, yet managing to duck some last second so the lazer burnt a hole in her shawl.

[i:ejjuqrux]Oh no, you don't[/i:ejjuqrux]. She hidded, drawing a handful what it seemed to be a pixie dust and uttered the arcane words quickly, blowing the dust toward the thickest gathering of the enemies - each little dust was glowing in the air, reaching the dark-armored enemies quickly - and getting under their skin through their armors... and once it reached them, the soldiers with weak will would have started shooting each other. Lynx's been always proud of her [i:ejjuqrux]Confusion[/i:ejjuqrux] spell, the Enchantment school was her favorite and she could easily play with minds of many.

Her gaze shifted to the two mages that were marked out. Her lips quirked and she glanced to Zarae and Lothir, seeing they went after the two. Then she spotted yet another caster, a bit farther... A piece of string with a pure crystal bead was tossed in the air, the words spoken and the [i:ejjuqrux]Dimension Door[/i:ejjuqrux] opened, the sun elf leaped through it, drawing her rapier quick, appearing right behind that mage - and thrusted the blade through his neck - being a rather capable warrior afterall.

The blade was embedded in the mage's throad as she grasped at his shoulder with her other hand and turned the dying caster, positioning him between herself and the enemies, using him as a shield for those few seconds she needed for another spell. Her movements were hasted and she was agile enough to make a hard target to the rest. Seeing Zarae took down her mark, Lynx grinned faintly under the cowl. [i:ejjuqrux]Not bad at all.[/i:ejjuqrux] She muttered, trying to find a piece of charcoal in her pouch hastily.

[i:ejjuqrux](brought in another mage to avoid the mess! hope it's ok >.>)[/i:ejjuqrux][/size:ejjuqrux]

coming up behind the mage, the bard listens to the sound of a dispelling being cast, and grins wickedly. The moment the dark globe goes down, he concentrates for a moment, and suddenly erupts in silver-blue fairie-fire, making him appear as little more than a ghostly figure of eerie flames. " Prepare to dance with death, vile one!" he says in his most cold and haunting tone, bringing the blades up.

The mage turns around quickly to spot him, and immediately tries to banish the "ghost". "Nice try, fool, but I can't be gotten rid of so easily," Lothir says, and suddenly slices out with the sabers, neatly cutting off the mage's hands, then coming back and side-stepping around to snip off the tips of his ears. "

While the mage begins screaming in pain, and trying frantically to stop the blood flow from his severed hands, the bard, now fully visible again, but still covered in the fairie-fire, smirks down at him. "The first was for the men you attacked. The second-" he pauses, "was for hy HAIR, you gol'iblith!" At that, he sees the mage stare in utter disbelief- right before he decapitates him.

"And THAT was just on principle..." he says, then turns and stalks back toward the battle.

Drakin heard the sounds of swords, and something else, in the forest clearing ahead. He pulled out his curved shotel and went into a crouch.

"What's is that. . ." said Grisnaw, a small three and a half foot gargoyle, just as Drakin slapped a hand over his mouth.

He began to creep forward, the tree line was only about a dozen feet in front of him. As he moved around the corner he saw a bunch of Drow attacking a group of. . . what he didn't know. The armor of many of them was strange, it was obviously not made of any metal he knew of, and their weapons seemed to spit light. With them he saw other races that he knew more about.

In front of him he saw a globe of darkness be set down onto a mage.

[i:18v5f2a7]Might as well get acquainted with this strange bunch,[/i:18v5f2a7] he figured and move into the globe of darkness with the mage. He could hear chanting from the mage in front of him.

[i:18v5f2a7]Now, we can't have any of that and spoil my fun,[/i:18v5f2a7] he thought to himself. The chanting stopped suddenly. And he came face to face with another Drow with a blood stained sword and burnt hair. "That's a good look for you," Drakin said.

Grisnaw looked on the fight with glee in his eyes. So much mischief to do so little time. He took flight and picking up a Drow in his claws. The Drow yelled at him in his own language, fortunately which Grisnaw knew.

"Let me go you oversized imp!" the Drow yelled.

"My pleasure," Grisnaw said back in his own language and suddenly let go. The Drow landed with a dull thud and a loud crack of bones breaking.

No Pity for the Dying;
No Tears for the Dead.
