The sun elf's brows knitted and she nodded solemnly, accepting his decision, seemingly perfectly fine with the drow mage choosing for both of them. She trusted him a lot, perhaps blindly.

[i:xbenk6qz]Alright. But if I die there, know this, I will haunt you forever, Ryltar.[/i:xbenk6qz] A wry grin creased her lips as Lynx replied in common, glancing from him to the clone and the moondancers. [i:xbenk6qz]I can alter my appearance, though I fear my lack of knowledge of the Underdark evnironment would be a giveaway regardless.[/i:xbenk6qz]

Her arms unfolded and she rested her hands upon the pommels of her blades, still thoughtful. Then the elf looked to the drow, addressing him quietly in Sylvan again. [i:xbenk6qz]How do we know we could trust these two?[/i:xbenk6qz] She indicated the other two drow with a subtle nod of her head.

Onix looked at Lynx’s reaction, catching it out the corner of his eye. The clone’s brow furrowed at her reaction, and he was about to open his mouth to respond when a loud roar of an engine overtook his attention. Overhead floated a machine that none of them would’ve recognized save for Onix.

The machine that hovered over the group and the dead Leecher roared, its engines thrumming from the power that they put out. The craft bristled with weaponry at every point, plasma cannons on both starboard and port sides, while chain guns and rotary cannons backed up the energy weapons on swivel turrets on the upper and lower portions of the gunship. Onix noted several of the villagers went slack jaw at the sight.
[url=http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs49/f/2009/ ... g:3epzsbz4]Gunship idea[/url:3epzsbz4]

“Hey, lead; how you been?” a familiar voice came over his helmet’s speakers. The clone’s face froze with an expression of utter surprise. He fumbled with his comlink controls, switching the speakers to the main.

“Pyro?” Onix spoke into his comlink, hoping for once that he was right.

“Right above you, Sir,” came the reply. Onix looked up to see four armored figures break out ropes from the cargo compartment of the gunship and rapple down to his position. Each of the armored troop’s wielded the exact same HMG that Onix possessed, and another weapon of their choice, which was strapped onto their backs. Their armor, down to the minutest detail was the same, except that each of these troops possessed a unique color scheme on their armor that differed from Onix’s armor.

Four 300 lbs, 6’ 5” troops hit the ground with a resounding ‘thud’ as each of their armored boots contacted the solid earth.
Each of them brought their weapons up to their shoulders and scanned the immediate area.

“All clear,” the commando bathed in an orange hued armor called up to the gunship; a split second later, a dozen or so smaller, but equally armed troopers came rappelling down to the ground. Each of them possessed helmets much like Onix’s, only their visors weren’t opaque they were transparent; and through each of those helmets, human, elven and half-elven faces could be seen.
One of the taller elven troopers called out in a calm, but commanding voice; “Marines, secure the area.”

“Yes, ma’am!” eleven voices shouted in unison back to her. The female marine then turned her head toward Onix and his squad, but her gaze was focused on Onix.

“Well, Sergeant 180, you’ve been quite the pain in the ass to track down,” she commented at the clone, taking off her own helmet; the face that came out was that of a beautiful dark elf, her features very fair and quite attractive, though the armor seemed to tone that down a bit; what might surprise Zarae, Lothir, and even Lynx or Ryltar was that her hair was that of a silver shimmer, much like an Elistraeen would have on Toril.

Onix’s face went rigid and his stance became that of an iron hard soldier; “Ma’am,” he said in a brisk, but stern tone, bringing a gloved hand up to his forehead in a crisp salute. The rest of the commandos like Onix did the same; “just doing my job, as always, lieutenant,” he finished.

The drow officer smirked; “if ‘as always’ means tracking down a Leecher queen and taking it down in no easy manner, then I’ll not argue; and with some assistance, I see,” she said, indicating Lothir, Zarae, Lynx and Ryltar with a gloved hand.

She turned to the three drow of the group; “Vendui, to all of you and thank you for assisting Sergeant-180 in taking down that thing,” she gestured toward the bug; “You have my thanks, but ahh, enough of my bantering. Please, what are your names?”

The flying machine sure made her blink a few times. Another gnomish device? But it did not seem so, appearing too complex even for the gnomes... even for something that could have been crafted in the plane of Mechanus. Lynx looked to Onix oddly as he introduced himself, surely the name was rather odd for a ..living being.

Then the elf smirked as the drowess seemed to address only her kinsmen, so remained quiet, slipping behind Ryltar and putting her slender arm around the drow mage's waist. She leaned against him slightly, just resting her chin upon his shoulder, looking on and and letting the others converse.

Ryltar smiled under the shadowy mask that covered his features as Lynx slipped behind him and wrapped her arms about him. The flying machine caught him by suprise as well and he shook his head a moment before murmuring the words Must be a Spelljammer under his breath. He'd place a hand on Lynx's, speaking quietly.[i:817kpuqu] An Alter Self spell would not do you harm while down there. It might make some less inclined to assault you.[/i:817kpuqu] When the drow approached and asked for their names he'd let out a small annoyed sigh at the need to introduce himself and Lynx once more. [i:817kpuqu]I am Ryltar of Battledale, and this is Lynx of Athkatla.[/i:817kpuqu]

Zarae wondered if it was a good idea to just head down into the depts. maybe they could find a cleric? with her house emblem she was able to understand the basics of the conversation between the two, yet she said nothing. who would trust a drow? not anyone who knew better generally.

as she was about to suggest a plan or idea the giant floating ship appeared. she stared at it with curiosity and unease. her hand slipped to a sheathed dagger in preparation for an attack.
'oh course the alien's friends show up after the things dead,' she thought to herself. she maintain a ready stance as the soldiers descended on ropes.
[quote:25uml3py]“All clear,” the commando bathed in an orange hued armor called up to the gunship[/quote:25uml3py]
"it should be clear, considering we still standing around," she said sarcastically and softly.
seeing the alien's reaction she had to say something, "I see dark elven females still rule in other realms."

The drow lieutenant gave a slight bow to Ryltar and Lynx respectively.
"Greetings Ryltar and Lynx, a pleasure to meet you both; I am Lieutenant Myria, of the ESAF heavy-assault carrier [i:31y3ajfv]Nighthammer[/i:31y3ajfv], and the commanding officer of Alpha platoon."

At the young, very young, female drow's comment, Myria cocked her head to the side, not sure what to make of Zarae's remark.

That was when the orange colored commando blurted something out; "Oh that's simple ma'am. . . . . from where we come from, women can be [b:31y3ajfv]veerrryyyy[/b:31y3ajfv] persuasive, especially ladies like our diligent, and most attractive, commander." The tone with which the orange armored commando blurted his comment suggested that he was grinning beneath his helmet, and with a odd and very perverted sense of humor.

Myria looked at the commando, though if anyone noticed, she had a very slight smirk on her face.
However, Onix, being the commando's squad leader, was NOT impressed with his subordinate's little playful banter.

Calmly walking up to his squadmate, Onix raised an armored hand and belted Pyro one good across the back of the helmet.

"Enough, asshole," Then, he leaned real close to the helmeted commando, and in a near whisper, said "not here, brother; these dark elves are [b:31y3ajfv]not[/b:31y3ajfv] like the Lieutenant in any way, at least mentally they aren't."

Pyro nodded, though his helmet gave no indication of it. Myria straightnened up and in a stern voice, "That's enough, Master Gunnery Sergeant."

"Ma'am!" came Onix's iron-hard, emotionless voice.

Turning back to Zarae, and the others, she said "Forgive me, but where I, 180 and his squad, and my marines come from, the way of rule isn't dictated by females, especially not ones like me or 180, well, outsiders that is. However, in our military, rank is what matters, through experience and discipline, not through blood right or some other god-forsaken reason. I hope I've explained things well enough," she finished, though the explanation was for Lothir, Lynx and Ryltar just as much as it was for Zarae.

"As it should be," says the bard with a nod of agreement. Missress- ah, Lieutenant, was it? I am Lothir Ustdalharuk E'Terrin'dar, bard and former prince of Argonia. Like you, I hail from a world other than this one, though much like it." He glances over as Onix smacks his fellow soldier, and stifles a grin (Ha! Pyro just got "Gibbs-smacked"!! :D Okay, yes I'm an NCIS fan.... )

He notes the exchange of the two who helped in the battle, but says nothing at first- merely sighs and shakes his head sadly at the continued prejudice against his kind. At last, he feels he simply must respond to Lynx's question. "Milady, if you wish to know whether we can be trusted, all you have to do is look at yon child, who is alive and with his mother thanks to our efforts. And at risk to our own lives in rescuing him and the rest of these villagers, I might add. Does that satisfy you?"

He turns ans walks away, a dark scowl on his usually open and friendly face. He frowns again, and looks at Onix. "So this thing laid eggs, and now we have to go hunt for them? Well, I'll say one thing- you certainly make things interesting! And as for what you said earlier, I'd be happy to teach you a little about what life is like when one is not fighting. Not htat I haven't done my share of that, too, but.... Heck, I could tell YOU a few stories about fighting! Ever faced a dragon? I've fought four of them!"

He grins, and slaps Onix on the back. "Of course, the fun part is figuring out how to do it WITHOUT getting roasted, frozen, or splattered with acid..." A mischievous twinkle gleams in his sky-blue eyes.

The elf glanced to Zarae first, then to Lothir, pursing her lips slightly, seemingly not too impressed that everything she said quietly in the Fey tongue was overhead and understood. The slanted teal eyes narrowed slightly as she regarded Lothir after he spoke up.

[i:2lsgtpsh]I saw only one action, the end of it mainly, which is hardly enough for me to be trustful, sir. I've known Ryltar here long enough and my trust toward him was earned, but it would be foolish of me to think that all drow are nice.[/i:2lsgtpsh] She replied surprisingly calmly, canting her head some, nudging Ryl's cheek with her own. [i:2lsgtpsh]I'd end up stabbed in the back or worse.

But, if my words offended you...[/i:2lsgtpsh] Lynx paused, then smiled a little, lopsidedly, though sounded sincere. [i:2lsgtpsh]I apologize. Yet somehow I am sure you can understand where I am coming from.[/i:2lsgtpsh]

With that she looked over to the 'commander' drow, and then Onix, murmuring to Ryltar very very quietly, so he alone could hear. [i:2lsgtpsh]My, I managed to rub in wrongly. Perhaps he is not aware of what the Llothites do to the quessir? I've seen some of that back in the Semberholme.[/i:2lsgtpsh] She let out a quiet grumble.

[i:4xyp5tyz]Quite possible.[/i:4xyp5tyz] The drow murmured. [i:4xyp5tyz]These people may have grown up on Lantan, they seem to possess strange.. devices. That is sure, or perhaps they are plananr. Though I do not know how they could be ignorant to the machinations and actions of the Spider Kissers.[/i:4xyp5tyz] He'd clear his throat then, glancing to those assembled about him and Lynx. [i:4xyp5tyz]So what is the plan?[/i:4xyp5tyz]

He turns back to Lynx at her reply, and nods. "Yes, it WOULD be foolish to think that. However, if it makes you feel any less concerned, I am a faithful follower of the Moondancer, as she is known in my home. However, most of my people are not, so you can surely imagine what I've had to endure simply to have survived this long. My own family would have killed me if they had known. I will accept the apology, but I would think that even one such act would speak far more than any words could."

He pauses to consider for a moment, then gazes at her steadily. "I've known several Quessir since I came to this world, and most were like you- suspicious at first. I certainly don't blame them, if the relations between them and drow here are anything like what they are where I come from. But I would like to think that there is hope for peace, at least among those who have chosen to return to the Night Above." He gives her a slight smile and bow, holding out a hand in a friendly gesture. "Besides," he says, a little smirk on his lips, "Trust goes BOTH ways, does it not?"

Myria raises a white-silvery brow at Lothir when he gives Onix his friendly slap on the back.
"Glad to have met you, Lothir Ustdalharuk E'Terrin'dar; and both of you," she indicates Lynx and Ryltar; "and you," Myria pauses while looking at Zarae.

"Zarae Zyne Kilanatlar, if my memory serves me correctly, ma'am," Onix interrupted the lieutenant.

Myria raised a brow at the clone, but then continued, "Zarae Zyne, Vendui to you as well. Now if you'll all please excuse me, my platoon and I have a little bit of a clean up to do, what with [b:h0oohv8v]that[/b:h0oohv8v] blasted mess," she waved a glove toward the dead Leecher queen before walking off to meet her platoon; but before she did, she turned to regard Ryltar, her super-keen elven ears picking up on his comment.
"And Ryltar, I assure you that neither me or any of the other dark elves that are on-board the [i:h0oohv8v]Nighthammer[/i:h0oohv8v] have seen or even heard of these 'Spider-Kissers' that you are referencing. As with all ESAF Marines, me and my kin are sworn to fight the growing threat of the Leechers and their creators, and that is what we will continue to do until either us or them are completely wiped off the face of the galactic map." With that, Myria strode off to meet with her platoon, shouting to them to form up.

Onix was left with a small, but very strong feeling of loss at the moment. The lieutenant had been dispathced down here to the surface to clean up the queen that he and his allies had just killed, then what was to become of his mission. The clone's face contorted with anger and frustration as he chomped the thought over in his head.

The clone let Lynx and Lothir finish up their little side-conversation, he had no intention of interfering with local politics, even if it was a one-on-one argument or conversation.

Then one of his squad-mates, a commando whose armor was a dark-forest green, spoke up; "Sir, perhaps if you introduced us to your 'allies', we could begin there." The statement was sort of a way of replying to Ryltar's question.

Onix shook his head to clear his thoughts; "good idea, seventy-two."
With that the clone turned to Zarae, Lothir, Lynx, and Ryltar and spoke; "Well, ladies and gents; you know who I am, but not my squad. All of these men, including myself, make up Theta Squad, part of the 501st[/size:h0oohv8v] Hunters Battalion." Onix waved an armored hand to the four armored commandos that stood before the four elves.

Pointing to the one in the orange, Onix started off; "There is our resident explosives expert and the comedian of the squad, 162."
The commando gave a odd and funny two-finger salute to Lothir and the others. "Nice to meet the fancy, and in some cases," he inclined his helmet toward Zarae and Lynx, though more aimed at Zarae "very beautiful allies of our good old squad lead."

Moving his hand to the commando whose armor was bathed in red, which made it look like he'd recently been in a knife fight and won, though in a gruesome way, Onix said "This here is 013; he's deadly sharp with his eyes and even deadlier with a sniper rifle. I'll say this much; if your his target, you might as well get up close and personal, at least [b:h0oohv8v]then[/b:h0oohv8v] you'll stand a chance of living." Onix chuckled at the last bit of his intro of Theta Sqaud's resident zen sharpshooter, who merely slowly nodded his helmet toward Onix's allies.

"The commando in the deep green armor is 056, my second in command and the squad's techno wiz; not a better technician and engineer in this or any galaxy than him," Onix finished up introducing his own lieutenant.
"It's a pleasure," the commando replied in quick and calm voice.

Moving his armored hand to the last commando with a light-hued gray coloring to his armor, which looked like racing stripes over his armor, Onix finished up his introductions; "and here's the squad's heavy weapons specialist, 240."
The commando spoke up; "Good to meet you guys," came a deep, gruff voice from the helmeted commando.

"And that, my friends, is Theta Squad for you, me and my brothers."

However, Onix wasn't sure he'd hit the right note from the blank expressions he was receiving. Then he knew what he had to do; "Thetas, buckets off." The helmeted commandos unsealed their helmets and one by one, removed their helmets.
If it struck anyone as odd, it would as Lothir, Zarae, Lynx and Ryltar were staring at five identical pale-skinned half-elven faces, from hair color, down to facial structure, Onix and his squad were truly clones, identical down to the most minute physical detail. The only thing that set Onix apart from the rest of his squad was the fact that he possessed crimson-red eyes, versus the Thetas, all of whom had azure-blue eyes in their faces.

Lothir almost cringes slightly as the stern-looking female drow repeats his entire name, as if somehow he hates hearing it. He watches her leave, shakinghis head slowly. "That is one strict female. Reminds me of my tutor Shiallin..." he muses softly.

When Onix introduces his squad, he nods politely to each in turn, stifling a quick grin at the comment from the one in the orange armor, though the meaning of the gesture eludes him. At last they take off their helmets, and he just stares for a moment, slightly unnerved by the identical faces. "You weren't joking about being clones, I see," the bard says slowly, looking over each in turn.

Lynx met Lothir's gaze, unflinching, nodding her head in agreement. [i:2glssbux]There is hope for peace[/i:2glssbux]. The circle of her arms around the drow mage tightened slightly for a moment. [i:2glssbux]-This-[/i:2glssbux] she indicated the embrace - [i:2glssbux]is the best proof, no?

But let us not rush. The trust goes both ways, indeed. Let's see if I could earn yours.[/i:2glssbux] Her lips curled in a slight smile again as she was leaning against her companion's back. [i:2glssbux]Nice fighting, by the way. And well met.[/i:2glssbux]

Her eyes locked on the commandos as Onix was talking to them. The elf sure noticed the one in orange was indicating Zarae as more beautiful between the two of them, and smirked vaguely, amused by that. The young elf was attractive and she knew it, so her ego was undamaged by this display of preferences, afterall there was only one opinion that really mattered to her.

Her gaze followed Onix was he kept introducing his comrades, then the elven mage studied the faces of the clones closely, marvelling, though did not appear too surprised.

Ryltar smirked as he listened and gazed to the various clones. Already the drows ego would go up a few notches, as he realized that all five of them were really just copies, and likely that meant the original was dead. [i:2kkdeeby]It is good to meet you all, and yes, trust should be earned, most assuredly, and I'm sure my mate and I will earn yours. Are we going to make camp here for now before we traverse off? Or do something else?[/i:2kkdeeby]
