A young Drow of the name Alaunavin Arabana lived on the surface. Born to the light on the surface and brought up to the ways of the Moon Elves. Not a evil bone in her body considering she was pure Drow, darken skin, yet her long raven black hair and eyes of sapphire blue you would assume she was a halfbreed. Alaunavin was loving and caring even though all did not trust in her, she would carry herself high and smile against the negative that surrounds her.

Her father was executed in the under dark and her mother exiled. She was pregnant with Alaunavin when her own kind disowned her. As she was on her last leg on the surface, a Moon Elf found her laying under a tree unconscious. This elf took her mother in and got her back on her feet but she had complications giving birth and died. Alaunavin was given her name by the Moon elf, he had said it was his mothers name.

As Alaunavin grew up on the surface she had no problems with the light and her eye sight was keen in both light and in the dark. She only knew the Moon elf as Master, for he had taught her everything he knows. He had taught her how to cast lightning spells, but he was amazed at how easily it came to her. Also it seemed that lightning had almost no affect to her what so ever, which was the strength of the natural abilities she has for it.

He had pondered for days after she was born why would she be called Lightning Guardian, now he knows why. For the love of the animal kingdom she has many animal friends and allies as he looks at it. If she was in any trouble they would come running to aid her at a whim.

Alaunavin was one in a million in Drow, she loved all and hated almost nothing. But her best friend basically never leaves is a wolf, black and with blue eyes. They first met when she was out on a hike with him in the woods... they came across this black young wolf stuck in a trap. She had growled at them, yet she walks up slowly and all the time looking deep in to his blue eyes... whispering to him that she is a friend and would set him free. Just then the hunter who set the trap came to check on it, saw them and aimed his gun at the wolf to kill it before they could release him. Alaunavin stood in front of the wolf, blocking his shot and chanted a lightning spell that would paralyze the hunter.

The wolf looked at this weired two legged creature, still growling but did not react when she let him free. He got up in a jolt but stumbled and fell to the earth. She came over to where he fell, he had stopped growling but still bristled she spoke in Drow and he understood everything, yet did not understand how. Alaunavin asked to see the wound and he allowed her to check it out and with a quick hand she pulled out ointment, then applied it. He growled with the pain but did not try to bite her as she was helping him, she said he should stay quiet for a while and let it heal. Also for him to stay with her till it is fully healed so she can care for him. He did not know who to respond, but was too slow before the male picked him up and carried him back to her home.

Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months. He was comfortable and happy, something that never was, he looked to this young maiden for comfort and company and she was happy to have him as a friend.... She called him Shadow as he could blend in with the shadows around and he would smile to the name. He had excepted the name and Shadow never left her side since that day she saved his life. The were almost soul mates as the wolf thought to himself even though they were from two different worlds he fully trusted this Drow and same with her.

One day the Master had passed away from a sickness and Alaunavin could not help him, he had wished to die in this manner, OLD!. So he had, she was 96 years old at that time, and she was on her way to begin a journey that would be long and difficult. Shadow was not far behind when she started off in the woods of her home that was full of dangerous creatures and beings. As she was a Drow, they would have fought and killed her first before asking questions just because she was different.
