Short Story:
Lilac is the 4?daughter of the Matron Mother of the house of De'Baalberc, which is a small house that rules in the small city of Baalberc. Alauniira is the name of the Matronand she and a few of her daughters and sons were the founders of the city like a hundred years ago.
Lilac has a Twin sister called Argos and they were both rebels, but always trying to behave as normal Drows, hoping that some day they would become one.
They were good friends. In fact they were best friends. Lilac became a warrior but Argos... she became a fine assassin. They were very fond of each other.
One day, after a battle in the surface, her superior took a human baby and her mother and sayed to Lilac:
- "You have not killed anyone tonight. Kill this baby and the mother"
- "Ok - sayed Lilac - then give me the baby"
The superior hesitated so Lilac sayed
- "you want me to kill the baby and the mother, so give me the baby"
And when she got the baby in her arms she approached to the woman and sayed:
- "Take a good look at your baby, woman. This might be the last time you see her" and showed her the baby just the enough time to let the woman cry her baby for the last time and then, in only a few seconds she attacked her superior with her sword, hurting her in the left arm, grabbed the baby with one arm and the hand of the woman with the other and runned like hell, runned as if fire was chasing them. soon she felt that the woman was dead because of the poisoned darts that reached her, but not the baby so she dropped the woman's body and continued running with the baby untill she could run no more and fell unconscious by one side of a road, far away from the battle.
When Lilac woke up she had a bandage over her eyes and was in a cool place. Some poisoned darts had reached her too, but with the hurry she didn't feel them or the poison. She was alive but what about the human baby?
Suddenly a woman came into the room and after introducing herself as Jasmine, she begun telling herwhat had happened after she fell unconscious. Her husband found her when he was comming home by that road in his waggon, and he was going to kill her because she's a drow and he's an elf, untill he saw the baby and it didn't match why the human baby was fine with this female Drow. He took both of them to his house and healed Lilac's wounds.
Jasmine also asked Lilac if she could keep the baby because they wanted so much to have children but she couldn't. Lilac agreed because she had nothing to give to that baby and also because Jasmine was a human and human babyes need human mothers.
Jasmine also sayed that she could stay as long as she was completely healed, but she shouldn't expect that her husband treats her well because he hated Drows, but anyway, he was fine.
Jasmine's husband gave Lilac her Bow and a carcass for arrows and introduced her to another Drow, an old male Drow called Massak, who would be his teacher for the next 40 years. he teached her how to behave in the surface world and that, in this world, male are not considered inferior (but sometimes she forgets some of his teachings; noone forgets 80 years of drow dogmas in only 40 years)
After this 40 years, Massak released her to know the world by herself only 2 months ago. In this time, she went to offer her services to a king and that evening one of the maidens of the castle warned her that she heard that the king wanted to have sex with the "female drow" (those were his exact words) tonight, so she escaped and to make a quicker escape she took one of the horses that were going to be trained as war horses.
She called him Renor Slyan (Black Star), because he's as black as she is.
After this incident with this king, she has been wandering around the world, having some adventures with humans, elves and met a lot of people, including a sorcerer which became a good friend, and a Dragon who was very angry because someone kidnapped her eggs to make an immortality potion. Lilac and her friends helped the Dragon to find the eggs and kill the sorcerer that was holding them, getting a very valuable ally.
But all this time, even when she knows she has friends and she writes to Jasmine and Massak every time she can, she feels lonely, because she has not found someone like her, and feels the hate that people in the surface feels for her race.
She has done a lot of good things in this 2 months, including finding and helping to destroy a temple of an evil god. She and her friends have helped humans, elves and also some animals, but she still feels lonely and even sometimes feels like she's going to get crazy or explode of lonelyness.
Lilac tries to give the appereance that everything's allright and she's cool, but in her heart she craves for company and love.
