Naien and Nixue reintroduction for Post-ToT RPs

Post by Grahl »

Naien and Nixue, some may remember this duo of Tiamat zealots from one or two RPs. Naien, the elder of the two, both a sorceress and a cleric of Tiamat, has much more experience under her belt, than Nixue, always has, always will. Nixue was an Arcaniss whose mother did not manage to get his egg to one of the established temples where all young Redspawn Arcaniss are supposed to be raised. Her raiding party was slain before they could get there, and Naien had merely been lucky enough to be in the area, to drive off their assailants, and rescue at least the unhatched egg, however not the life of Nixue's true mother. Naien in her greed and willful ways chose to adopt and raise him as her own, on her own, on the road. In early RPs with these two, we've seen the fine example of how well she brought up Nixue to be every bit the loyal servant of Tiamat as all Redspawn are supposed to be. But something happened during one misadventure, hired to slay a Paladin of Bahamut, when they stood defeated, she stopped Nixue from dying in vain for his zeal, and accepted what the adopted son who had long since suspected that they were not related by blood, wished for most, he was accepted as her mate, and from that point forward, living for Naien superseded his zeal for Tiamat. Those adventures were however long before ToT (Time of Troubles), so let us jump ahead a few decades. What has changed in the lives of these two, as Naien's views and insights about how best to live, changed?

For starters, it was no easy task, and in the post-ToT Faerun, these two are now hunted as traitors. Naien, and in turn Nixue, have forsaken their devotion and service to Tiamat, and instead, embraced Astilabor. As a result of being branded traitors, and now openly hunted by followers of Tiamat, with orders to kill them on sight, Naien, despite her years of being a staunch enemy, has even secretly begun praying to Bahamut, for shelter from Tiamat's wrath. This sudden increase in enemies, including those who were once allies, has also led to a quickening of gaining experience and power for both of them, mostly out of necessity to survive. While Naien remains on a path of slower progression, back and forth between arcane and divine magic, Nixue's focus on the Arcane has made him a pretty formidable sorcerer, particularly in the area of fire spells, which all Arcaniss naturally cast at a higher caster level than they have actually earned.

Loss of the use of their Firebelcher mount has also led to the acquisition of a variety of magical items, some of which were gifts, from goodly dragons impressed to see the duo bold enough to break away from Tiamat, and wishing to improve their chances of survival. As was a certain violet-eyed Drow to his people, Naien and Nixue in Post-ToT events have become the pioneers to lead the way, away from Tiamat.

So many views and not one reply... I thought for sure, Veraka would have something to say here.

The only good dragon is one that gave up their hide (and life) to make armour. *G*

Just was not a play that interested me, others certainly could have looked to see what your concept was. Some just might have viewed, including bots, because you posted.
