[b:wtgrtf35]History[/b:wtgrtf35]
Born Dilok Dyrr, Rah d’Barra took a new name when he came to the surface. As a son of one of the Great Houses of Menzoberranzan, Rah was trained as a warrior in the Pyramid of Melee-Magthere until adulthood. His family often looked down upon his choice; House Agrach Dyrr was a house of wizards after all not warriors. Despite his families general disapproval he continued his studies and while he was only a passable swordsman he was a brilliant tactician. Upon graduating Rah spent a few years in service to his house before he left to join the mercenary group Bregan D'aerthe in hopes of getting lost in the simple life of a hired sword.

On one mission the mercenaries had been hired to scout out an encampment that had been spotted near a tunnel that led to the World Above. Apparently regular soldiers of the nearby Drow city sent to inspect the area had not returned and the Houses were tired of losing their own soldiers so Bregan D’aerthe had sent 13 mercenaries, including Rah, to find and eliminate the trouble. Upon arrival the mercenaries found the camp deserted though it appeared to be set up only for 1. During the investigation a human arrived completely unarmed and unarmored. When the mercenaries attacked they found the human to be a formidable match with only Rah surviving the encounter. The human was fatally wounded but not killed and Rah, fascinated by his ability to fight so well without weapons, spoke with him while he died. The man turned out to be a monk and had been sent as a guard for a city nearby. Apparently some wild creatures had slipped out of the Underdark and were causing problems.

Rah had been intrigued by the man and decided to abandon the mercenary life for that of a monk. After reaching the surface he made his way to the city, the sunlight burning his eyes, and finally came to the city of Grimwall. At the centre of the city was the monk’s monastery, which Rah headed to immediately. After a rigorous initiation Rah was admitted to the order. The monks pledged allegiance to the god Jergal and were often referred to as the Hand of Death by the citizens. Taking directions from the clerics at the monastery the monks moved quickly and silently to seek out those who seek to extend their lives beyond death.

[b:wtgrtf35]Physical Appearance[/b:wtgrtf35]
Skin: Black
Eyes: Silver
Hair: White
Facial Hair: N/A

Rah wears a simple black tunic and black pants under ash grey hooded robes. The tunic while plain is imbued with powerful magic to offer more protection. When out in public Rah always wears his robes with his hands hidden in its sleeves and the hood drawn to hide his face from those who would take his heritage as a reason to attack him. He also wraps cloth bandages around his head covering everything but his eyes to further hide his features and wears simple cloth gloves to hide his hands when he cannot keep them in his sleeves. He removes the robe when entering combat so as not to hinder his movement.

[b:wtgrtf35]Personality[/b:wtgrtf35]
Rah’s upbringing in the Underdark has allowed him to act as the perfect agent of his god’s judgement. Growing up surrounded by cruelty he feels little for the suffering or pain of those he executes or anyone who tries to stop him. He is utterly uncaring and it is whispered in the town of Grimwall that Rah has ceased to be a man and has merely become a mindless tool of his god, going where the clerics direct and killing whoever they order. Rah shows no remorse for what he does or what he has become and makes no attempt to hide it, despite hiding everything else about himself, and will willingly tell any who ask what he does in service to his god.
A man can move a mountain and think himself strong, but a properly placed word can move civilizations.
