Vhaeraunite Relationships?

Since the Chosen of Eilistraee is a religious oriented player group, naturally there is a place to have theological discussions. That is in-game religions; please leave real-world religion out of it. Debate the fine points of a certain dogma, how a church can enforce worship while staying true to its tenets or simply why one deity is better than another one is. All are free to talk about it here.

[quote="Noraimund":4vijz89m] And the literature that is coming from the top (The Changedance, for example), is quickly narrowing my character's options for dieties to follow. [/quote:4vijz89m]

Do not confuse ChangeDance with the WotC writers guide for a shared world. Ed speaks does not effect what WotC decides to accept. Form indications some of the things Ed has offered to TSR and now WotC the FR world wold be R-rated at best, which takes out a target population. As long as WotC does stay silent on a comment Ed it is cannon, by contract. The writers quide could very well not include ChangeDance as it does not include many rgings Ed speaks has offered. SR and now WotC did not want something in print and still might not want some of Ed's vision from even years ago in print.

Ok haven't read all the posts so this may have been said already.

Big issue with a possible merger of the faiths(aside from Vhaeraun followers generally being evil) is gender.

Eilistraee's worship, while I big step up for male followers, is still a female dominated faith where Vhaeraun's worship is male dominated.

I can't see many followers of the Masked Lord bowing down to priestesses when that was probably one of the reasons they refused to follow Lolth in the first place.
I never stab people in the back, it's much more pleasurable to be able to see the expression on their face.

Well it looks like we need book three to know for sure, Eilistraee might die. Lolth clearly will not die based on all we are currently seeing from 4th Design team.

As for respect for rank, Vhaeraun followers do have a code of conduct that appears to acept that. That is the few existing female clerics clearly would be respected for their rank as long as it was in service to Vhaeruan. The blend that Lisa is doing does not sit well with me, but she has messed up dogma in the past.

BTW welcome to the Chosen *Smiles*

The gender issues wouldn't be an issue at all for the followers of Vhaeraun. But yeah, I too see it as a huge sticking point for the followers of Eilistraee, as they are most definitely female-biased.

It's not a case of Female Dominated vs Male Dominated. It's Female-Bias vs No-Gender-Bias.

There aren't restrictions in place to prevent females from rising to positions of power in Vhaeraunite communities (or in the Church: there just aren't very many females who choose to join the church).

I love her books so far, and i've seen very little fan fiction come even close to being good enough to judge her. If anyone wants to have an open season, pick the last couple WotSQ books. I know Shir'le has a double barrel 10 gauge for that turkey.

I do agree that death should be permanent mostly, but keeping in mind most authors like Salvatore almost acknowledge ressurection in their stories as anything but a distant rumor, to avoid that very pitfall.
If this gripe refers to Eilistraeens rezzing more .. well if they didn't they'd all be dead already and the story over, or the story would be silly and make them out to be neigh unkillable in order to keep it going to its conclusion.

With the exclusion of Kemp I respect the authors and their attention to detail, no matter how many stupid werewolves die. They're a horror movie gimmick for cryin out loud.
