Ahh, I see. But yes, 5e downplays alignment, especially compared to other editions. Loyalty is perfectly understandable for an Eilistraeans; not so sure for the law. Then again, you also have paladins of other deities who pretty much don't care about the law, like Corellon, so i guess it's a broad statement that admits exceptions.
